DONTNOD announced the next Vampyr update will arrive on September 26th, introducing two new difficulty modes and Ansel support
DONTNOD ,developers of the story-driven single player action RPG Vampyr, revealed the final details of the upcoming third update to the game. The patch will land on September 26th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and will bring two new gameplay difficulty modes, support for Nvidia’s Ansel and a number of fixes to bugs and glitches.
The patch is currently available for beta testing on Steam. Patch notes have been published as well, but some final tweaks are not excluded in the last minutes before its release, based on feedback. There’s one thing that troubles me and many other players – the fact that you will not be able to change difficulty in the middle of a game.
In the new update you will get to choose from two new difficulty modes:
- Story Mode de-emphasizes combat, placing a greater focus on narrative so you can enjoy Dr. Jonathan Reid’s journey with less challenging gameplay.
- Hard Mode makes combat much more difficult. Players will receive less experience from killing enemies too, forcing them to rely even more on embracing citizens to grow in power.
- Normal Mode will allow you to play the original Vampyr experience.
Here are the patch notes:
New Features
- Introduced New Difficulty Modes (Story Mode and Hard Mode)
- Introduced Nvidia Ansel
Fixes
- An issue where the key to Morgue was missing has been fixed (Mission 21)
- Fixed an issue where there was a wall missing collisions in Aloysius’ mansion
- Fixed an issue that would occur with two-handed weapon skills
- Fixed an issue with Simplified Chinese achievements appearing in English
- Various other fixes
To celebrate this new Vampyr update, DONTNOD have decided to do a promotional Steam sale for the game – up to 85% off from Sept 20th until Sept 24th.
