Poseidon’s Trident weapon in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey grants you the ability to breath under water for unlimited time. This guide will show you how to get it!
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is stuffed with all kinds of mythological and legendary events and items that you can stumble upon, discover or complete. One such thing is a heavy weapon – Poseidon’s Trident.
Equipping the Trident will grant you unlimited time under water. This is beyond priceless for all fans of explorations. The world of Ancient Greece Ubisoft has created is not just above the waves. Beneath them there are a ton of secrets. Some of them are very well hidden and would require both time and persistence for you to discover and loot the deepest areas and ruins.
Where to find Poseidon’s Trident
The item itself is quite easy to find if you know where to look for it. It is inside a Legendary Chest far to the east of the map.
On an unnamed small island. Among the ruins of Poseidon’s Temple. The good news is that this small island is marked on the map and easy to sail to – it’s the small piece of land to the very right end of the image I have shared above. There’s also this giant statue of Poseidon that you will be able to see from far away.
The exact location of the island is in the middle between Samos and Chios. There is a temple on Chios that you would want to visit too, by the way. Inside you will find an Ancient Stele that will grant you one Ability point for free.
You will find the Legendary Chest on the eastern side of the island. In the Temple of Poseidon you will find a few lions with a Point of Interest being active for killing the “Alpha Animal”. They are usually all roaming or sleeping around the chest.
Poseidon’s Trident Stats and Appearance
The Poseidon’s trident is qualified as a spear in the game and its animations fit that description. If you enjoy the gameplay with a speak (pointing and poking a lot), then you would be happy!
The weapon has the following stats:
- + Warrior Damage
- + CRIT Damage
- Breath Underwater (Legendary Engraving)
- Empty Slot for an Engraving
If you do not like the base perks of this item, don’t worry. You now get the Legendary Engraving for breathing underwater and can place it on any other weapon you prefer. However, the downside is that you will lose an Engraving slot for something else that will be useful in more situations.
I personally prefer to have the Trident on my secondary slot or even as a spare weapon and only equip it when I plan to explore ruins below the waves for a longer time.
Remember, for the Engraving to give you unlimited underwater breathing time, you don’t need to have the weapon with it in your main hand. As long as it is slotted in the second weapon slot, it will still give you the benefit.
