Ubisoft’s latest Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Update 1.0.7 (aka the November Update) brings the Visual Customizer, new Level 70 Cap, 2nd Free DLC Quest and more!
Assassin’s Creed Update 1.0.7 was released on November 15th for all three platforms – PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The size of the patch varies and is between 2.2 and 2.6 GB.
The most important and interesting changes include the second Free DLC Mission “A Divine Intervention”, an increased level cap (70), introduction of the Visual Customization tool, detailed Mercenary benefits page, a new smart loot system, which will give you more gear tailored to your playstyle and a ton of bug fixes and quality of life improvements.
Note, that earlier this month the Steropes – The Storm Bringer mythical cyclops boss was released. He was a bit on the weak side in terms of challenge and quest story, but was a cool-looking giant at least and dropped a nice Legendary Hunter Bow.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the things I just told you about, then at the end you will find the full and complete official patch notes for 1.0.7.
A DIVINE INTERVENTION – FREE DLC
Once you have installed Update 1.0.7, you will have access to the second Free DLC, part of the series “The Lost Tales of Greece”. The main quest is called “A Divine Intervention” and it offers three quests in a small chain that will send you all over Ancient Greece. It starts in Korinthia with Test of Judgement. The quest giver is a Misterious woman on the eastern border, in Port of Kecheries. Once you start this, just follow the description and complete all quests in the chain. If you prefer, you can also watch the full video walkthrough I have made for you. It’s available both here at the top of this segment of the article as well as on my YouTube channel.
If you want to catch up, you will find the First Free DLC here – The Show Must Go On.
INCREASED LEVEL CAP TO 70
When you log in for the first time after updating to 1.0.7, you will still be level 50. The new cap is now 70, but as a thank you for your efforts, you will be rewarded an appropriate amount of Ability Points, based on the amount of XP you have earned while at level cap prior to the update. This will actually result in more Ability Points that you will be able to earn. It’s kind of like a free bonus. You can still reset all of your points at any given time for a small amount of drachmae and you will not lose any Ability Points you have gained already.
NEW VISUAL CUSTOMIZATION SYSTEM
The Visual Customization System allows you to change the visual appearance of your gear and weapons while keeping their original statistics. This feature is directly available from inventory and doesn’t cost any drachmae nor has any cooldown. You can change the visual appearance of your items at any time. The visuals work as collectibles, meaning, as soon as you have collected a gear piece or weapon it will add its visual to the pool of selectable appearances. That way you’ll be able to keep the visual at any time, no matter if you should decide to dismantle, sell, or store it.
This works retroactively, too. Any appearances of gear items or weapons collected prior to the introduction of this feature to the game with 1.0.7 will be automatically available as selectable, whether you still own the item or not.
You are able to select the visuals from any level of rarity. Meaning, you can apply the appearance from any item, no matter how rare, to any other item. The only limitation is that you can only choose visuals from the same item category. So you won’t be able to apply a spear visual to a sword, for example.
All models are available, no matter your level or the level of the item. However, some models have additional variations that you unlock as your level increases. You need to have the item unlocked to see what variations are available.
Premium Items are not visible in the Visual Customization collection, until you own an item – then it will be visible and can be selected as visual.
IMPROVED MERCENARY SYSTEM WINDOW
As you can see from the video above, the promised detailed information for each Mercenary tier has been provided. It comes with Update 1.0.7 in the form of an additional window, which you can access from the Mercenary Tab (default shortcut on PC is SHIFT).This new window offers you an easier to understand representation of the bonuses you get from each tier as well as which tiers you have unlocked and currently gaining benefits for.
Additionally, as you’ll read further below in the full patch notes section, the bonus you get at the Blacksmith is now displayed there to make it perfectly clear when and if you have it.
