Ubisoft announced a few upcoming changes to key areas in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey such as the XP transfer to Ability Points at lvl 50 and Engravings bugs
Since the release of Update 1.0.7, there has been some complaints and a ton of useful community feedback that Ubisoft promises to have taken to heart. Thanks to that, the company posted on the forums an explanation of how the XP transfer to Ability Points happened with 1.0.7 for players, who were already level 50 before the patch and hinted at a few important new changes coming to Ability Points and Engravings in the next update.Let me tell you about each of these (and a few others) in a bit more detail in the next few rows.
XP Transfer to Ability Points in AC: Odyssey 1.0.7
If you have been passionate enough to get Assassin’s Creed Odyssey early on and have already reached level 50 at the time of Update 1.0.7’s release, you have been rewarded for your efforts with 8 Ability Points.
Originally it was said that the number of points will be granted based on the amount of XP you have accumulated since reaching level 50. As it turned out, everyone received the same 8 points.
And this is why:
For the question why all max level players received the same amount of ability points: there wasn’t a clean way to convert XP to Ability points so we decided to grant every player who reached level 50 prior to patch 1.0.7 the maximum amount of ability points. We believe this is the best possible outcome for all of our max level players.
Ubisoft hinted at something cool arriving with an upcoming update to the game – a “little” surprise they called it. It is going to make Ability Points much more valuable than they are currently. Here is a sneak peek at this “new feature”:
The hint here is the new boxed UI item on the very right side of the screen – just next to the cursor, also each tree has one new ability now. There is no information as to what it is. Perhaps a secondary Passive Ability system that serves as a new ladder for you to climb after level 50. Maybe a brand new Ability tree. As soon as there are more details, you will find them right here on VULKK.com!
Engravings and Upgrades past lvl 50
This is also a result of the changed level cap from 50 to 70 with Update 1.0.7 last week. Players reported many issues related to Engravings on items higher than level 50. Ubisoft discovered two issues and plan to address them both in the next patch.
The first issue is with the Detailed Statistics page [affected perks below] that makes it seem like perks values are decreased when upgrading past level 50. “We are looking into this and want to assure players that the stats are functioning as intended and this is only a display issue” Ubisoft explained. Here is a list of the bugged values:
- Damage with Bow on Distant Targets
- Damage against Spartans
- Damage against Athenians
- Critical Hit Chance while Full Health
- Critical Hit Chance while Low Health
- Critical Hit Damage while Full Health
- Critical Hit Damage while Low Health
- Headshot Damage
The second issue regards poison damage and fire damage which is currently being calculated wrong.
The Epic Mercenaries Live events
The first Epic Mercenary Damais the Not-So-Indifferent arrived yesterday. He came with his own Bounty mission from the notice board (available in most cities and towns).
He was not too hard to kill, sadly. I personally killed him and a bunch of other elites from a nearby camp on Hard difficulty without getting myself killed. You can watch the short gameplay video of this quest at the top of this post.
The mercenary dropped a nice Chest:
Odysseus Gear and Naval Packs
As promised in an earlier announcement, the Odysseus Gear and Naval Packs have been added this week to the in-game store.
The Odysseus Gear pack includes the following items, granting you + Hunter Damage and various other boost on the secondary slot:
- Trojan Horse – Phobos Skin
- Odysseus Greaves
- Odysseus Belt
- Odysseus Bracers
- Odysseus Brestplate
- Odysseus Hood
They are all legendary items with the following set bonus: “Gain 25% of an Adrenaline Segment with Hunter Abilities”. Of course, each item can also be Engraved with one additional engraving of your choosing.
The Odysseus Naval Pack includes:
- Sirens Crew Theme
- Mermaid Figurehead
- Siren’s Song Ship Design
As always with the Naval Packs these are 100% purely cosmetics and only change the appearance of your ship and crew. Unlike the Gear Pack, the Naval pack doesn’t affect your stats and performance in combat.
