This is an overview of the new content, features and changes Ubisoft is bringing to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in the month of February 2019: a new Lost Tales of Greece quest, New Game + mode, new level cap, a lot of new Fast Travel locations, new Mercenary tiers, In-Game Store packs and even more! Let’s take a look!
THE LOST TALES OF GREECE: A BROTHER’S SEDUCTION
In the next installment of The Lost Tales of Greece Free DLC content, you will encounter a “waylaid poet” who will lead you to the Port of Kechries where you must help two brothers deal with their father’s recent passing. Unfortunately, your presence inspires some brotherly rivalry as they compete for your affections, and it falls to you to untangle this family drama.
A Brother’s Seduction is now available in the game. To have the starter mission appear for you, you need to have completed Chapter 5 of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s main storyline. This requirement is the same for all Lost Tales of Greece quests.
The starter mission this time is called “Prodigal Son’s Return”. and is available in Korinthia. All quests from the series are always marked with blue icons to make them easily distinguishable.
NEW GAME + AND NEW LEVEL CAP
Many of you have been asking for this and Ubisoft is finally adding it! New Game + (NG+) mode is coming to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey with Update 1.1.4 later this February 2019.
NG+ allows you to start the game from the beginning and make new and different choices, while keeping all of your hard-earned levels, gear, upgrades, abilities, money, mounts and so on.
To access New Game +, you need to have completed the main Story Arc. A new option in the menu allows you to copy your eligible save game as a New Game +. You will be able to switch your character from one to the other if you wish to experience the different voiceover and gameplay. To start a NG+, simply pick a valid safe slot and use the newly available button to copy that save slot and make it NG+. You will never lose your regular game progress. NG+ will be saved separately in a different file/slot.
The current level cap of 70 proves to be too low, it seems. Ubisoft is rising the level cap to 99 with Update 1.1.4. With this change also come a number of other benefits to compensate for the more grid you will have to do to get to the cap.
Along with the new level cap, a two additional Mercenary Tiers are being added as well – 10% more Orichalcum and a higher drop rate of epic gear. Be careful, though. The mercenaries from these tiers are high level. You may have to get up to their level and gear before you start climbing to the new top.
Three additional Engraving tiers will be available at Hephaistos’s Workshop. Also new Ship improvements will be made available. Like in the previous update, these would most likely be additional tiers to already existing perks. Upgrading them should not require any unique items, except for the standard crafting materials.
NEW FAST TRAVEL POINTS
Have you ever felt like you are traversing through Ancient Greece too slow? Been frustrated with the long journeys on the back of your horse or running from point A to point B only to be sent then back to point A? Ubisoft acknowledged your frustration and is introducing 22 new Fast Travel points into the game. Most of them will be placed near harbors and ports, so you will have also an easy and quick access to Adrestia (your ship) quicker.
MORE NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS
This month’s update 1.1.4 also brings new accessibility features and more store packs and items. You can check them out below.
New feature allows you to set the Subtitles’s size as well as their background:
- Off: This will disable the background for subtitles and dialogue.
- Subtitles: This will enable a background only for subtitles.
