Ben Irving – lead producer for Anthem, confirmed that the upcoming with Anthem Update 1.0.4 Elysian Caches, also known as Stronghold Vanity Chests will not contain armor packs, but will instead offer vinyls, decals and all sorts of emotes.
Sad news in this Saturday afternoon! BioWare’s lead producer for Anthem – Ben Irving – just confirmed that the upcoming Elysian Caches will not contain any armor packs or pieces of armor at all.The Elysian caches, also known as Stronghold Vanity chests, were announced as part of the Act I update a few weeks ago. On the reveal live stream Ben Irving introduced them in a way that left the impression in all of us that these chests will have a unique armor sets inside them that players can work towards to earn and collect. Sadly, this was disproved today with a Twitter message from Ben himself.
My bad here, i read the question as "when can we earn vanity in Anthem" as opposed to "when can we earn armor" – There are no armor packs in the Elysian Caches but there are a lot of very cool Vinyls, Arrival Animations, Victory Poses and Emotes. More details coming. https://t.co/xx2tRflS7z

The Elysian Caches are available after the final boss in each one of Strongholds. They spawn only after you have defeated the boss. The rewards in them are crafting materials, including ember of all tiers in large quanities as well as emotes, victory poses, animations and vinyls.
To open it, you will need a key. These keys are rewarded for completing a random daily mission each day. There are four chests and if every player opens one, they all can loot all of the contents of each chest, thus only needing one key per player. As a quality of life improvement the number of keys you currently have will be displayed with a small icon located just below your Health Bar.
The items from these chests will be registered as owned once they drop for you and you will never again get a duplicate drop. There is a number of items available in the collection. Ben Irving announced that after a while a second collection will be released, so you will always have something to hope for when you are opening these chests.
The Elysian Caches were one of the methods BioWare throws in the battle against “Stronghold leavers” – players, who start a Stronghold and leave after one of two chests. This phenomenon is quite popular in The Heart of Rage Stronghold, where players often leave after the fight with the Fury right after the second Loot Chest.
The Elysian Caches come to Anthem with Update 1.0.4, which is currently expected to be released next week. Most likely on Tuesday.
This update also brings a large number of quality of life changes and the first six Legendary Missions. Learn more from my Anthem Update 1.0.4 Changes Preview article. Patch notes are now available. It is a client-side patch and shapes up to be quite large in both size and contents. BioWare is doing a lot with this update to improve the game’s stability and performance among other things.

ANTHEM Update 1.0.4 Beyond the First Impressions

But it was met with more hostility than the previous two updates combined. Why? Let’s find out! This article, as the title suggest, is based on my initial and then more in-depth experience and impressions with the game after the changes.
