Ubisoft is far from done with last year’s hit Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. On top of the two incredibly good paid DLCs, the game continues to receive tons of updates and new content every single month. This one – May – brings yet another installment of the Lost Tales of Greece, new items to the store and some very interesting game improvements! The Remastered Assassin’s Creed III arrives to Nintendo Switch! Come, let’s take a closer look!
NEW LOST TALES OF GREECE QUEST
The next addition to the free DLCs being added each month to the game, called The Lost Tales of Greece, will be the “One Really, Really Bad Day”.
To access this mission, you need to first reach Chapter 5 of the main storyline of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The mission will be accessible on May 14 and is completely free to all players, who own the game, regardless of the edition type and Season Pass ownership.
The story, you ask? You receive a frigid welcome in a small village in Lokris as you discover that an imposter has been posing as you, tarnishing your good name. You will need to figure out who this person is, bring an end to their scheme, and clear your name.
NEW PACKS COMING TO THE STORE
The in-game store is also getting regular updates. It is a sore spot for me personally, because as much as I want to justify its existence as a vanity resource, the character packs contain bonuses, useful in combat.
Nevermind that. Let’s take a closer look at what to expect and when!
“Undaunted, you will overcome any challenge with your might and bring your foes down around you with the Herakles Character Pack. This pack contains a gear set, a mount, and an axe.”
I am amazed with how much I like the visual appearance of the Axe. It sure would look nice in the hands of my Alexios.
“To be near the Hydra means your fate is sealed. To become the Hydra means you have control over fate itself. Take on the seas with the Hydra Naval Pack, which contains a ship design, a figurehead, and a crew theme.”
The Hydra Naval Pack will also contain Herakles as a Lieutenant. on your ship.
Both the Herakles Character Pack and the Hydra Naval Pack will be available in the store on May 21. The items will also have a chance to spawn at the Oikos of the Olympians.
NEW GAME MECHANICS AND GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS
The May Update will introduce several improvements to the game. It will come later in the month. A specific date is not officially known yet, but May 21st is a good guess.
Here’s what Ubisoft teases us with regarding the update:
- Unique Legendary Lieutenants scale up with the player, increasing their perks over time.
- Anigmata Ostrakas now indicate their region.
- Items assigned on another loadout are now indicated with a visual hint.
- Reduced weekly contract objectives to make them simpler and faster to complete.
These are all fantastic and very handy to have. The new Legendary Lieuetnants that scale up with you, will make sure you can keep using them for a long time. The incredibly overwhelming, but also very entertaining to look for, Anigmata Ostrakas having a region indicator is a good quality of life addition for sure.
ASSASSIN’S CREED III COMING TO NINTENDO SWITCH
Odyssey’s update for this month is not major, but will surely provoke most of you to log back into the game and take a look at these changes, maybe even buy the new packs. On the other hand, the recently released Assassin’s Creed III Remastered edition, arrives to Nintendo Switch very soon!
The release date is set for, you have guessed it – May 21! Here’s what this release will include:
- HD Rumble provides an additional layer of feedback during gameplay.
- Touch screen interface enhances accessibility for game menus.
- Motion Control ensures an intuitive controlled feeling during distant weapon aiming.
- Specific UI design provides HUD adaptation for different display modes (Docked or Handheld gameplay).
So, what are you waiting for? Go back to Ancient Greece, catch up with the DLCs you may have missed and don’t forget to complete all of the free Lost Tales of Greece missions! They are fun!
