“Get the story behind the game with the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order™ Deluxe Edition featuring a “Director’s Cut” suite of behind-the-scenes features and content as well as additional unique cosmetic equipment for your adventure. Pre-order the Deluxe Edition to also receive all of the pre-order bonus content.” – quote from the official site of the game on ea.comStar Wars Jedi Fallen Order is developed by Respawn Entertainment (part of EA), the studio responsible for Titanfall and Titanfall 2, Apex Legends and the upcoming in 2020 Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is a third-person action game in which you take control of Cal Kestis. This is a single-player story-driven game. Its action takes place in the years when the Sith Empire rules with an iron fist. Cal is one of the last surviging jedi (padawan, actually).
“After attempting to salvage a Venator Class Star Destroyer above a Sarlacc Pit, an accident happens in which Cal has to openly use the Force to save one of his friends from falling into the pit, which is witnessed by a nearby Imperial Probe Droid. The droid transmits the footage to the Empire causing Cal’s true identity to be revealed to the imperials. The Empire dispatches the Second Sister, an inquisitor trained by Darth Vader, to hunt down the Padawan and eradicate the remaining Jedi Knights.” – source wikipedia.
The game comes in two editions – Standard and Deluxe. If you purchase it before its release date (pre-order or pre-purcghase – both terms describe the same thing), you will receive a few “gifts” in- and out of the game. Keep reading to find out what exactly are the differences between the available editions and decide which is best for you.
JEDI FALLEN ORDER STANDARD EDITION
Available on: PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
The base version grants you access to the full game. The key features of the game include:
- Cinematic immersive combat experience – as you can see in any trailer and gameplay demo, the combat is thoughtful and impressively well-designed. Each action you take with your weapon means something and the way you approach your enemies will determine the outcome. Tougher NPCs may take longer to defeat and/or require special set of actions. Strikes, parries and dodging are the bread and butter of the combat system. It wont take you long to learn it, but mastering it might take a bit of practice.
- A New Canon Star Wars Story – Cal is a padawan when Order 66 wipes out the Jedi Order and kills almost all of the Jedi. He needs to complete his training and become a true Jedi to take on the tough challenges he is going to face during his missions. Jedi Fallen Order is a single-player story-driven game, part of the official new Star Wars canon, which Disney reset when they took over from George Lucas. Cal is a brand new character, but you will meet a lot of familiar faces and explore iconic places during your journey with him.
If you pre-order the Standard edition, you will receive the following additional bonuses:
- Orange lightsaber blade color
- 2 cosmetic lightsaber customization sets
- Cosmetic skin for BD-1
If you get the game from Origin while you have an active Origin Access or EA Access subscription, you will get a 10% discount. This is valid for pretty much all EA titles. Subscribers to the higher tier called “Origin Access Premier” will also get the opportunity to play the Deluxe edition of the game at launch!
JEDI FALLEN ORDER DELUXE EDITION
Available on: PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
The Deluxe version grants you access to the full game, same as the Standard Edition, but it also offers a few extra perks to justify the higher price:
- Cosmetic skin for BD-1
- Cosmetic skin for the Stinger Mantis ship
- Digital art book
- “Director’s Cut” behind-the-scenes videos, featuring over 90 minutes of footage from the making of the game
It is more than likely that the documentary will leak on YouTube and/or other platforms soon enough. If this is your biggest incentive to get the Deluxe edition, perhaps you should reconsider.
If you pre-order the Deluxe edition, you will receive the following additional bonuses:
- Orange lightsaber blade color
- 2 cosmetic lightsaber customization sets
- Cosmetic skin for BD-1
If you get the game from Origin while you have an active Origin Access or EA Access subscription, you will get a 10% discount. This is valid for pretty much all EA titles.
