ANTHEM now allows buying Legendary Items with Coins

Today BioWare introduced a new update to Anthem. This server-side patch allows you to purchase Legendary Items with Coins exclusively in-game from the freshly revamped Regulator Store in Fort Tarsis!

Did you know of the existence of the Regulator Store, which has always been a part of Anthem’s In-Game Vanity Store? Yeah, I thought so. Most of us briefly stopped by Sayrna’s shop in Fort Tarsis for a few conversations and probably forgot about her existence shortly after the story ended.

The Regulator Store is the place where up until today you were able to convert some of your hard-earned Coins for Crafting Materials. This was an indirect way for you to spend your Coins to obtain Legendary items at level 30.

With Patch 1.6.0 BioWare added a way for you to transform Crafting Materials along with a special new currency earned through gameplay for Legendary items at the Tombs of Legionaries in Bastion’s Freeplay.

Today BioWare brought a completely revamped and redesigned Anthem Regulator Store, which allows you to directly spend Coin for Javelin Weapons and Gear.

The new version of Sayrna’s shop now offers Legendary Items and Legendary Weapons for all players at level 30. Each one costs Coins and nothing else. The Crafting materials bundles are still there too.

Coins cannot be obtained through any other means than gameplay in Anthem. This is the core in-game currency that has been present and available since launch. You can earn it by completing dailies, challenges and missions.

“Starting today, the Regulator Store will begin to sell Legendary items (exclusively for Coin). You’ll have the option to purchase a Legendary Weapon or a Legendary item for each class. Level 30 players will get these items at 80 power and players below level 30 will get these items scaled to their respective levels. Be sure to keep a lookout in case something you’re trying to get shows up in there.” – BioWare’s community manager Andrew Johnson announced in a open message to the community.

There is no need to patch your game for that, since this was done on the server side of the game.

The Regulator Store is online and accessible as before on the same spot, just near the Forge on your right as you face the Forge. Alternatively you can open the Crafting tab from the Featured Store and access the Regulator Shop without manually standing in front of it.

There is currently no official information on how often the contents will change, but we do know for a fact that what is available today may not be the same tomorrow or next week.

Here is a list of what weapons and gear you can buy right now and for what price:

All items are available at Power Level 80 if your Javelin is level 30. If you are below level 30, these items will be scaled down to your appropriate current level.

Right now the shop offers only one weapon – the Ralner’s Blaze Assault Rifle, which is a great fire combo primer, because it can ignite the target while you are on a 5+ hit-streak. Here’s its visual representation:

I admit that this is a long overdue, but very nice addition to the game. We are all in a mindset where we don’t currently expect much (or anything) from the game while BioWare is working on redesigning Anthem. Or maybe it’s just me? Regardless, I like this sudden change and approve the idea with both hands up (and clapping!).

What about you? How do you feel about this update?
