This is a step-by-step guide to the Puzzles and challenges you need to overcome while on your journey to find your kyber crystal on Ilum in Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order!
This guide focuses on Cal’s mission to find and pick up his own kyber crystal in the ancient Jedi Temple on Ilum. I highly recommend you spend some extra time to pick up the little secrets and hidden objects.
Even though I did not focus specifically on them in this guide, I give you some hints about them. Remember, you can always come back alter to find the ones you missed the first time.
When you exit the ship, take the left approach. That is the one leading you to the Temple. The right path ends after a bit of wall-runing into a Force Echo.
A narrow hole in the ice-wall will allow you to enter the temple. It is located to the left from the main temple doors.
When you get out, look to your left and up. Climb that wall. The first segment is easy and quick. The second one is a lot longer vertical climb. Move carefully in a zig-zag path following the white and blue sections on the wall which you can actually climb.
There’s no need to climb to the top. There you will find three things – cold blizzard, an echo and cool vista.
Half-way through the climb jump off on the left side. There is a narrow edge that will take you inside the temple.
Here is the first mini puzzle. Most puzzles on Ilum are related to light and allowing light to pass through/melt certain areas or objects.
In this case, pull the cable and attach it to the terminal on the right. This will open the round door on the left side of the cable.
The next room you might remember from Clone Wars – giant iced door that you have to melt to get through. In fact this whole mission is inspired by that one episode where Master Yoda and Ahsoka lead the padawans into the temple to find their own crystals.
First you need to pull the cable next to the round door and attach it to the metal construct as shown on the image below. Note how the metal construct (jedi device) is positioned – you can push and pull it.
Next pull the cable that hands from the giant crystal in the middle of the cave. Move it around until the coming light gets redirected by the crystal to the small iced door on the other side of the room.
The second phase is to actually melt down the big iced door. Pull off the cable from the metal construct.
Tarzan (use the cable as a rope) your way to the other side with the cable from the crystal. Then pull the metal construct to your side.
Attach the cable from the crystal to the metal construct and push it to the other edge of the room.
Finally, go up through the small door and get up to the other cable. Pull it to allow the light to enter. If you have positioned the crystal correctly, the light will get redirected by it and melt down the giant iced door.
Go through the door. Don’t forget to save your progress. After the short underwater swim session, climb up to reach the “heat source” on the other end of the tunnel. You will reach the point on the map shown below.
The next few corridors and passages are linear. You will pass through wall-run segment, jump down onto a narrow ledge and skate down iced ground to reach the next save-location.
From the save-spot, take the left pathway. After a short narrow corridor you will find a probe droid. Use Pull and Push or the skills of your own droid BD to deal with it.
At the end of this corridor, to your left is a mini wall-run and rope-jumping segment leading you to another Life Echo.
Your main mission continues forward. In the next room you will find two probe droids. Neutralize or destroy them. Take the path leading upwards to your right.
A Short wall-run segment will lead you to this rock:
Use Force Push to create a bridge in front of you. Jump on that rock. To your right is the same second save-spot you saw moments ago. Your path continues in the direction opposite the save-spot. A double-jump and a bit of climbing later and you will see this:
Now, jump down on the ice floor in front of you. Dive under water to find yourself in this location, almost at the Crystal:
Climb up and sneak through the narrow passage through the walls. A cinematic scene will plan next.
This is the end of my guide. Your next steps involve crafting your new lightsaber and you surely don’t need my guidance for that. After you obtain your melee weapon, the next part is the most fun, but it also doesn’t require duidance – slice and dice all imperial troops that stand in your face. Good luck and have fun!
Ilum is my favorite Star Wars planet, so I was extremely happy to see it part of Cal’s journey in Jedi Fallen Order!
The next guide you might need is the Dathomir’s Tomb of Kujet (including how to defeat Malicos, the rogue jedi who turned to the Dark Side and currently resides on Dathomir.
Before I let you go, I want to plug in a quick musical note. Did you know that The HU is the band that performs this awesome mysterious song in the beginning of the game and later at the Underground Arena as well.
I hope you found my Ilum’s Puzzles Guide for Jedi Fallen Order useful. I have a number of other guides for the game that you might enjoy! Don’t forget to share this post with your friends! Thanks!
