CD projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 releases on December 10th, 2020. This first-person role-playing game is available in two different editions for PC, Playstation and Xbox.

The game also offers post-launch content in the form of both free and paid DLCs (one expansion: Phantom Liberty). This guide will help you find out what you get for your money, when you get it and whether is it worth it (the last is a bit subjective, though)

Cyberpunk 2077 Editions Differences

Cyberpunk 2077 is available in only two editions. Below you will find out what bonuses and extra gifts CD Projekt Red is offering with each one.

Cyberpunk 2077 Standard Edition

The Standard Edition is available for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. It is available in Digital and Physical format for all three gaming platforms. You can purchase it directly from the cyberpunk.net website or from any retail website of your choosing, including Steam and Epic Games Store. Note that if you purchase through GOG.com, 100% of your money goes directly to CD Projekt Red.

The Standard edition of Cyberpunk 2077 contains the following items on top of the game itself:

If you purchase Retail:

  • Case with game code and Soundtrack CDs (PC)

The map of Night City is quite large and very visually appealing. It features all of the Night City districts and districts. The price of the Standard edition is around $60 (may vary based on your local currency and store). You can see all items previewed in the image below.

Cyberpunk 2077 Collector’s Edition

The Collector’s Edition is available for all three platforms – PC, Playstation and Xbox. It can only be purchased as a physical edition, though. That is the leading reason why it is a lot more expensive. CD Projekt Red stuffed it with amazing collectible items and a beautiful statue of V in action.

Here are the full contents of the Cyberpunk 2077 Collector’s Edition package (in cursive are the unique to this edition physical items):

  • Collector’s Edition box
  • Case with game discs (consoles)
  • Case with game code and Soundtrack CDs (PC)

  • 25/20 inch statue depicting the main protagonist of the game V in action

The Collector’s Edition is very hard to come by and is sold out in most regions by now. Its price is set to about $250 (may vary based on your local currency and store).

Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 is just a new package in physical or digital format. It offers nothing else exclusive. This bundle targets new players, who have not yet played the game at all and offers them a chance to get the entire package at a discounted price as opposed to purchasing the base game and its expansion separately.

Cyberpunk-2077-Ultimate-Edition

The Ultimate edition in physical format is also valuable to some physical media collectors, probably. It contains the base game, all updates, including all free DLCs and the massive Update 2.0, as well as the Phantom Liberty expansion.

I myself am not a collector and am glad that CD Projekt RED is not trying to milk their existing players by offering something tiny small new feature or exclusive element to the Ultimate Edition to force the players to pay a step price for what they basically already own.

Where and when can you play the game

Cyberpunk 2077 releases on December 10th, 2020. The game is available world wide on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4, and Playstation 5.

The Phantom Liberty Expansion is only available on next-gen consoles: Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5.

PC Support and availability

Cyberpunk 2077 offers all the latest technology advancement perks and tweaks on PC, headlined by full support for HDR as well as Nvidia’s DLSS and RTX. This will allow PC gamers to experience Night City in its true and most realistic form possible.

GeForce Now availability

To play the game on GeForce Now all you need is a capable device: Windows PC, Mac OS, Android TV, Shield device or Chromebook. You will also need to own the game and have a good and reliable internet connection, of course.

PC Hardware System Requirements

Over the years since the game’s release, the PC system requirements have changed and today to play the game in its full shine and glory, you will need a powerful machine!

Post-launch content

Cyberpunk 2077 offered more content after its release. This is a true single-player role-playing game, so you should not expect anything in terms of “live support” as many companies like to announce for their titles.

Free DLCs and Paid DLC (Expansion)

There are a few free DLCs released for the game. They include alternative appearances for Johnny, more gigs, the Roach Arcade game, Transmog customizations and more.

There is one and only one expansion to Cyberpunk 2077. It’s called Phantom Liberty and was released in September of 2023. Phantom Liberty is a paid DLC and offers access to Dogtown, a previously locked and unavailable district of Night City, a brand new story and lots of new loot.

Have you made your choice yet? What version of the game did you pick? See you in Night City, choomba!
