CD Projekt Red delivers an overwhelming detail to the vehicles V drives in the game. This article will attempt to show and tell you about the many cars and motorcycles that populate Night City, how they came to life and what makes driving in Cyberpunk 2077 such a unique treat compared to other games! It’s also important to list and explain the main styles that drive the fashion in the Cyberpunk universe in 2077!
About a month before release and we still don’t have a confirmation of all the types of vehicles V will be able to use and drive around Night City. Episode 4 of CD Projekt Red’s Night City Wire show gave us incredible new details and preview of the types and classes of cars you can purchase or “borrow” in the game, how they differ from each other and how they were made to sound and look so realistic and immersive, yet so futuristic and unique.
Then I also want to show and tell you a bit about the motorcycles and CDPR had not just anybody, but Keanu Reeves himself to share a fantastic preview of what two-wheeled machines we might be enjoying riding in the game.
Johnny Silverhand’s Porshe is also confirmed. along with a few more new secrets revealed and teasers announced. More about all these later, of course!
And let’s not forget about the four main styles of fashion currently dominating Night City in 2077. We are going to make a deeper dive into them as well to find out what makes them unique, which ones suit what types of citizens and people and more.
Let’s get started!

Brief History of the modern vehicles
In the 20s and 30s of the 21st century the development of modern technologies and implementing them onto the new vehicles stales in the Cyberpunk universe. Following the Fourth Corporate War (ends in 2023) America nad the whole world enter a recovery stage, which doesn’t reflect very nice on the humanity’s technological progress.
In the 40s, with the massive influx of more affordable Hovers, these type of car get more and more popular among the higher classes citizens and the corpos. This technology isn’t new, though. It starts way back in the 60s of the 20th Century. It’s not without its issues either. Maneuverability and price make them not suitable for every customer.
The modern vehicles on the market are dominated by a few giant companies with the asian sector primarily delivering cheap, affordable, but not very strong and fast cars, while the highest and most expensive segment is dominated by European and UK brands.
Most vehicles you will encounter in Night City are anywhere from brand new to a true veterans of the industry from way back in the 2020s.
What types of cars are available in Cyberpunk 2077
In The World of Cyberpunk 2077 book as well as in Episode 4 of the Night City Wire we found a ton of interesting information about the types and classes of vehicles available in the year 2077.
Night City is not only described as one of the main characters in the game, but it’s also a giant open world, living and breathing on its own. You’ll definitely need a chill ride to get around!
From old classics to futuristic crazy creations, the designs and behavior of all cars in the game will be unique and not two cars will be identical. Not in performance, nor in appearance.
Every element in each car and motorbike is personally touched – the body, the chassis and even the interiors.
Economy tier cars
The lowest tier (or class, if you prefer) cars belong to the Economy group. They are simple, but sturdy and will reliably (almost always) drive you to where you need to go.
Don’t expect advanced tech or luxurious materials in these models. They look and behave simple on the outside as well as from the inside.
Maimai
This little guy belongs to the Economy class. The Maimai is manufactored by Makigai, a Japan-based company. This model is from 2035. It’s not very powerful with its 73hp, but even at this size it features five doors and will surprise you with its mobility and sturdiness.
Colby
Colby is a utility vehicle from the New USA based company Thorton. It’s a typical utility vehicle. Nothing from it shines, but it does what it is designed for.
At 186 hp the Colby is much more powerful and faster than the Maimai, but it’s also a lot larger, less agile and heavier car. You can fit anything from two to nine people inside. I suppose if you ask clowns to fit in, that number may bump up to fifteen or so. Clowns are good at stuffing in cars.
Hella
Archer’s Hellf is manufactured by Archer, located in China. This model was in production from 2023 until 2038. This sedan boasts 212 hp and is a bit lighter than the Colby.
Executive tier cars
Are you looking for a vehicle that screams wealth and lux? Do you want to impress everyone around? The Executive tiers cars are just for you.
Alvarado
Manufactured in the New USA by Vellefort this car is a great example of what the word “kitsch” means. The two-tons heavy model was in production between 2044 and 2055.
It packs the impressive 407 hp and can fit up to four people. And there’s just something special about having four front wheels. Yeah, four!
Cortes
Cortes is a more robust and simple representative of the Executive tier. It doesn’t feature four front wheels, but is a very luxurious vehicle nonetheless.
Manufactured by New USA’s Villefort from 2038 until 2053 this model has 333 hp and can fit three passengers.
Thrax
Thrax reminds me so much of the 80s cars. In Cyberpunk 2077 the model is still in production and despite the references that my brain makes from the real life, this car from Chevillon began its production in 2062.
Thrax is a limousine with four doors and can fit up to four people. The car has 388 hp and weights a little less than two tons. It does look kind of like a tank from the front, doesn’t it?
Misc and Unknown Executive car models, seen in-game
Here are a few more images of more luxirious executive tier cars, of which names and manufactures I am not 100% sure yet or there aren’t enough details to put them in a separate segment. You can help me out by naming them in the comments, if you know which is which.
Heavy Duty cars
Masterful engineering and practical design. These are the most important element this category relies on. Whenever you need a massive truck or a tank-like vehicle, you look for one in this category.
Brute force and raw power lie in the core of these vehicles designs and performance.
Bratsk
Made by Kaukaz in the Soviet Union between 2027 and 2058, the heavy duty Bratsk trick is incredibly powerful at over 500 hp and has the weight to match it with at over eight tons.
Zeya
Another member of this “family” is the Zeya, also made in the Soviet Union by Kaukaz. This neomilitaristic truck has 165 hp and weighs 3.2 tons.
Behemoth
This beast is still in production and is made by the New USA based Militech corporation. Wieghing over nine tons and boasting over 500 hp this thing can flatten almost anything that stands on its way, I bet. It trully is worthy of its name.
Misc and unknown Heavy Duty cars
Again, in this category I have selected a few models that are either unknown or lack enough details to display them on their own.
Sports Cars tier
Here comes the fun part! These models are for the racing heads and the biggest speed enthusiastic choombas.
Quadra Type-66
The Quadra model Type-66 dates from 2055. It’s a typical example of the classic kitsch style. As powerful as 666 horses and weighing at 1.7 tons this two-seated sports vehicle will make you feel like you fly through the city instead of driving on the streets.
Quadra V-Tech
This is what we quickly labeled as “V’s car” as soon as we saw V standing next to it in the final scenes of the E3 2018 Cyberpunk 2077 trailer.
Quadra Turbo-R
Yet another representative of the Quadra cars series. The Turbo-R model is a kitsch sports vehicle with 607 hp and its coupe-design fits only two people. The Turbo-R model is produced from 2055 until 2062.
Misc and unknown Sports cars
Same as previous categories – here are a few images of models that are unknown or I lack the desired information to put them in a stand-alone segment.
Hypercars
This category stands alone on the top when it comes to speed and armor. The hypercars are usually very curvy, sleek and incredibly futuristic in design.
This class demands precise bodywork, built-in lidar arrays and incredibly expensive materials both on the outside and inside the car.
Outlaw
Herrera’s Outlaw limousine model was produced in 2072. It follows the Neokitsch style and owns the road with its 755 hp.
Aerondight
If you are sitting on a pile of Eddies (Eurodollar – the Cyberpunk 2077 in-game currency), then the Aerondight is for you. This car is designed by the UK-based manufacturer Rayfield.
This car is incredibly fast, no doubt. But did you know that this name is also perhaps a reference to one of the most powerful silver swords from The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine expansion?
This definitely is not a typical urban vehicle. It is not designed to impress, but to drop jaws and make everyone else jealous. Nothing about this car is normal. If its swinging doors are not enough, then what would you say about its crystal dome windshield?
It’s not the fastest car ever, but it impresses and demands respect in every other aspect of its design and functionality.
Caliburn
Rayfield’s Caliburn is another sports car from the UK-based company. With its 1660 hp you are probably not going to be able to see the side missions and points of interest you drive past :)))
Johnny Silverhand’s Porshe 911
That’s right! The table-top game confirmed long ago that Johnny drives a Porshe and CD Projekt Red teamed up with the real-world manufacturer to not only recreate the real car experience in the game, but make it as authentic as humanly possible. A real 1977 Porshe 911. Nice!
What’s even cooler is the hint we got from Night City Wide 4 that this will not be the only vehicle available in the game that matches an iconic car from our world.
Johnny’s car is going to be exactly one hundred years old model at the time we get to play the game. I wonder if, where and how we will be able to acquire it!
Here, take some more pictures of the real-life Porshe 911 model from 1977!
Keanu Reeves and the Motorcycles in Cyberpunk 2077
What would Keanu Reeves tell you if you ask him what he loves the most about motorcycles? Smell! Travel! Journey! Freedom!
Keanu is a huge fan of motorcycles. He has his own company (co-owns, actually) Arch. Arch is involved in Cyberpunk 2077 too! Was that a surprise? Not really.
Keanu together with Gard Hollinger made a presentation of their company and how it is involved with the game in Night City Wire 4.
Arch Motorcycle is a custom production motorcycle company owned by Keanu and Gard. The company exists since 2011. Each bike is built on a production platform, but is designed to be personalized to meet the requests and style of the specific customer.
They did recordings of motorbikes for the game in California City Municipal Airport. They also designed a special model for it! CD Projekt Red approached Keanu with the offer to be Johnny Silverhand, but they also told him they are huge fans of his company and want it to also get involved.
This special Cyberpunk 2077 version of Arch Motorcycle is present in the game and here is a tease of what you will see and drive.
The model is called Method 143. It is a creative inspiration, Gard said, for the designers, who used that as a basis and went even further.
I absolutely loved the motorcycle driving experience in the rain.
Each car feels different and unique
CD Projekt Red’s Senior vehicle artist Paul Dalessi confirmed that the studio and game developers spent an incredible amount of time polishing the driving experience in the game.
Cars will not only serve to drive you from one mission to the next or from one location to another. They will be a true part of your journey and life in Night City (and outside of it!)
You can personalize your vehicle
Each manufacturer of vehicles in Night City will have its own style, feel and touch. Even if you get two cars from the same model, but one is made by the manufacturer and the other one is modded by Nomads, the two cars will feel totally different.
You will also be able to tweak the cars to your liking and with your own resources. Both the interior and exterior can be changed to match your V’s style and needs.
If a car looks expensive and powerful, it most likely drives the same. On the other hand, if it looks cheap, it drives cheap. This is the philosophy CD Projekt Red is following.
You can summon your vehicle in Night City
Cars in Night City can be summoned in a similar manner to what you might be familiar with if you have ever whistled for Roach in The Witcher 3. Cars in Cyberpunk 2077 will hopefully not spawn on top of buildings’ roofs or other weird places, Paul promises, but we know that some weird bugs will always find a way to creep up to the game even past its Day 1 patch.
You will be able to buy or steal cars in Cyberpunk 2077. Paul confirmed both options, in case you were still not sure. Of course it will be possible. However, you should be careful, because NCPD is the least of your troubles if you are caught in the middle of such crime.
If you want a specific car to drive, but can’t seem to get your hands on one, listen for an opportunity from your Fixer. They may call and tell you they have what you need, but first you may have to do something for them. In other cases you may just have to drive there, pay the sum they ask of you and you’ve got your hot new wheels!
Paul confirmed that every single player operated vehicle is absolutely unique in every way. From what I have seen in the trailers and gameplay clips so far, it’s impressive how much realism there is even while I am just watching someone else drive. The cars and motorcycles are not static, the blurry effects are very cool and there is a nice feeling of realism.
For some reason I strongly dislike the first-person driving mode, but then again I am not a fan of racing sim games and I always drive cars in my games from third person perspective. What about you?
Cyberpunk 2077 cars sound realistic
CD Projekt Red spared no expenses to make the driving of a car or bike in the game a truly memorable experience. The sounds that you will hear are not stock and are recorded and mastered specifically for this game and for this vehicle you are driving at the given moment of time.
A dedicated Sound Team spent a lot of time recording real-life sounds from over forty different cars from a very broad specter of models and types.
They placed a lot of microphones in a lot of weird places to make sure that they can capture the most true and realistic sound.
Everything was one on CDPR’s home turf, in Poland’s racing tracks. Recordings were made for both moving and stationary vehicles. When you floor the engine while waiting to start your next race, you will recognize the unique sound this specific car makes and none other will.
The main idea CDPR adopted for the vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077 is that they should sound realistic, not futuristic. The cars V drives around Night City may look weird and out-of-this-world, but when you drive them, you will feel like you are operating a more organic combustion engine or an electric one from your real world.
This is most likely done with immersion in mind. The cars already look strange and have weird features all over them, at least the sound from under the hood should be somewhat familiar to not break the immersion.
Racing is a minigame in Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 will feature racing events. There are several tracks in different locations. There is no solid information how will we discover and join the races. They may be part of the main quest line or available to participate in as you approach them or in any other meaningful way.
Here’s an interesting tip and something to be careful about! If you are racing in the Badlands, you should consider using a car that is made for this territory. The terrain there is not exactly suitable for the city sports models. If you are racing in Night City, you’d best choose the fastest and most powerful car you can get your hands on.
No matter what and where you are racing with, you should always bring a gun with you. Because this is Night City! Death Race, anyone?
Styles in Night City
In some of the images from this article you have seen vehicle styles mentioned. I noted some of them and left others for you to discover on your own.
Styles are an important and core part of the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. In the year 2077 there are four distinctively different main styles you will encounter and they apply to everything, from architercure to clothing and vehicles (which are the main topic of this article).
Choosing V’s style
This one is not directly related to the topic of the article today, but is related in a way. CDPR showed a flash screen of V’s character creation screen, which has seen some change since the first time we saw it in 2018.
You can choose a predefined preset from the left column or create your customized version by choosing the fourth icon in the bottom left. This opens up the right side with a lot of interesting options like voice tone, skin tone and skin type, hair style and color and so on.
Cyberpunk 2077 may be a first person RPG, but V will still be featured in full during cinematic cutscenes and while driving. You want to look cool. It’s… important, heh.
Kitsch
Neon hair, illuminated tatoos and chrome – these are the most distinctive features of the classic Kitsch style. This stile is the closest one to the classic Cyberpunk 2013 and 2020 table-top games and the vision of the future as seen from the 80’s of the twentieth century.
Functions comes second for Kitsch. Look is the most important here. Kitsch is easily recognizable with its flashy colors and incredibly weird combinations of types of clothes that no normal person in our world would consider appropriate. But this is not our world! This is the Cyberpunk world!
Entropism
This style took the lead after the end of the Fourth Corporate War in 2023. Kitsch gave way to this new style as vast and deep crises forced people to survive by any means.
Entropism features streamlined appearance with complete or nearly gone flashiness of the previously popular Kitsch. In fact it is the closest one to the regular style of our modern world today.
Neomilitarism
Deadly elegance without ostentation The Neoimilitaristic style is mostly encountered in the corporate sectors and in the more wealthier parts of Night City.
Substance over style is the motto that perfectly fits people who have adopted the neomilitarism. What makes this style distinctive and different from the Entropism is the sleek and domineering aesthetics. It inspires and demonstrates power above all else.
Neokitsch
The most recent version of the Kitsch style, called Neokitsch, is popular amongst the celebrities and brandance stars.
What makes it different from the original kitsch is the fresh new layer of flashiness added on top thanks to the modern 2077 technologies.
Check out the clips that inspired this article and were the main source for the information you found here.
Note: I plan to expand this even further, but the amount of new information we got from Night City Wire episode 4 was a bit overwhelming and I need some time to structure it all properly.
In today’s episode CDPR also announced that Google Stadia will have Cyberpunk 2077 on release date. I updated the Editions and Pre-Orders Guide to include this new information.
