CD Projekt Red released an official launch times worldwide. Want to know exactly when you will be able to pre-load and start playing your game, based on your platform? Let’s go!
Table of contents
Cyberpunk 2077 is the most anticipated video game of the year. The number of release date delays we saw since last year and this made the hype even bigger. The wait was all worth if you compare the visual fidelity between the same gameplay moments shown through these last two years.
What about the gameplay features, though? Apart from one class being removed and the whole skills and progression system receiving a redesign into what the game will launch with -a hybrid no-class system, we saw a number of other improvements being announced like the additional localizations.
Speaking of localizations…

Pre-loading times
If you have pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 you will be able to pre-load the game and be ready to play it as soon as it launches.
Xbox players will be able to pre-load starting December 3rd, 5PM CET.
Playstation players will be able to download the game and install it two days prior to the release date.
PC players will be able to pre-load starting Monday December 7th at 12PM CET from GOG and at 5PM CET on Steam and the Epic Store.
Next-gen compatibility
Cyberpunk 2077 will be fully backwards compatible between the previous and next (now current already) generation of gaming consoles from Playstation and Xbox.
Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S cross-save
Smart Delivery allows you to continue playing the game on Xbox Series X/S from where you’ve left off on the Xbox One.
Make sure you are connected to the internet so your saved data is uploaded to the cloud or connect both your Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S to the same network and use the system network transfer option.

Recently CD Projekt Red released a gameplay demo footage demonstrating the visual differences between Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Check out to see what you might be missing if you are not playing the game on the new console.
PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 cross-save
f you are playing the game on PlayStation 4, you will be able to continue playing it on PlayStation 5 with backwards compatibility.
This also means your save files from the PlayStation 4 will be compatible and you will be able to pick up the game at the same point where you’ve left off (as long as you are using the same PlayStation account).
There are 3 different options:
- Connect to your PlayStation Plus account and upload your saves; or
- Transfer your data via LAN cable or wireless connection (WiFi); or
- Use a compatible storage device to copy and transfer your saves to the same PSN account on PlayStation 5.

Embargo Note
Some players will have access to the game a little earlier than others for different reasons beyond the time zones differences. In an attempt to allow everyone an equal start at launch CD Projek Red released an official statement and warning regarding early video publications and live streams.
Here is the text of the message:
We’re getting closer and closer to launch and chances are some of you will get your hands on a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 before release day. However difficult this might be for us to achieve, our ambition is for gamers all across the world to have the same – spoiler free – experience at the time the game releases.
This is why we kindly ask you NOT TO stream/let’s play or release any similar content before December 9th 12PM CET / 3AM PST. We will send MAX-TAC (you know, the guys who take down videos) after everyone who does. After that date, however, we would love if you’d streamed everything like there’s no tomorrow.
It’s 2020, who knows, maybe there isn’t.
Streaming Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay with Music
Speaking about live streaming, you are probably aware that currently there are major issues for gamers who live stream games with original licensed music that plays on the background.
To ensure seamless and worry-free live experience for both the streamers and the viewers, the developers implemented a special feature for Cyberpunk 2077. If you check up that in the game’s settings menu, you will not hear the few licensed tracks from the score of the game that are not legal for live broadcasting or video creation.
Are you ready for Cyberpunk 2077? This time for real! The wait is nearly over and the game will be worth the wait, I am sure of that.
