How to get all FREE Vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077 (Guide and Locations)

Vulkk by Vulkk|

This guide will show you where and how to get FREE vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077. It also explains the driving gameplay and mechanics in details.

This guide is up-to-date for Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3

There are a lot of cars and bikes available in the game, some you can get for yourself and call back whenever you want. But only a few of them you can have without spending a lot of money!

This guide will show you all vehicles you can own that are a free gift, available for pick up from a location or given to you as a reward for completing a job.
But first, let’s start with the basics!

Please note that to describe how, where and when you can get these vehicles, I have to mention some missions and locations from the game. I consider these very minor spoilers, but it’s fair to warn you.

Every fixer and dealer in Night City will often message or call you about a new deal they want to offer you about the best car or motorcycle their client is selling.

The thing is these are very expensive, especially if you are still early on in your Cyberpunk 2077 progression. You do have to take care of your gear as well – new Cyberware is also expensive, especially if you are going for Legendary quality.

You don’t have to pay for vehicles. There are a number of fantastic cars and bikes that you can get for free! And by free I mean without paying Eurodollars or Eddies.

Some of the coolest cars come as reward for completing a side job and a smaller number are available for you to just go and claim them in their specific location.

In this guide I will show you as many of the best looking and performing cars and bikes in Cyberpunk 2077 that you can get for free and relatively early on in your progression.

How driving works in Cyberpunk 2077

Before we get to the list, locations and instructions on how to get the free cars and bikes in Night City and the surrounding area, I’d like to offer you a quick overview of the driving mechanics in Cyberpunk 2077!

Driving in Night City as a core gameplay mechanic

Driving in Cyberpunk 2077 is a core mechanic of the gameplay. There are Fast Travel spots all around the city covering literally the entire map from one corner to the other, but driving is what will allow you to truly experience and witness the full potential of this game!

How to get the Quadra Turbo-R Car in Cyberpunk 2077

You will always have something to drive, with possibly a short period of time in the very beginning of the game, when your own car is “totaled” as Johnny Silverhand tells you, but you will get it repaired and back to you soon.

Borrowed cars cannot be called later

If you don’t own a car or fancy driving something “borrowed”, you can easily assault someone else’s car and drag them out of it, then sit in and drive away. This mechanic is known to the general public from older games such as the Mafia and GTA series.

Take Control feature for taking cars in Cyberpunk 2077

When you “borrow” someone else’s car, you can drive it, but you will not be able to add it to your own collection and call it whenever you please.

Calling your car or bike – that’s how you spawn your vehicle in Cyberpunk 2077. Press the shortcut button (V on PC) and the car will arrive to you in a few seconds using autopilot.

Driving modes and camera positions

While driving there are three camera positions you can choose from and a few settings for height and distance you can tweak in the main menu. The three general positions are:

Camera inside the car – best immersion, but very hard to drive with keyboard and a mouse unless you are experienced with that from other games

Camera inside the car - FREE Vehicles Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

Camera outside the car and far from the hood – my preferred camera position and the one I recommend you to try and get used to as well. Allows perfect vision all around you and gives you a better control over the vehicle.

Camera outside the car and far from the hood - FREE Vehicles Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

Camera outside the car, close to the hood – great to make you feel the speed, but not very comfort in terms of viewing angles

Vehicles give you access to your Stash

Based on the vehicle model and type it may be on the back or on the front, but every car in Cyberpunk 2077 gives you access to your Stash!

The Stash is a safe place where you can store items and they will not be lost. It’s better to keep them in the Stash rather than carrying them around with you all the time.

FREE Vehicles Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

Note that this is a different stash from the one in your apartment. It is, however, shared between all of your cars.

You will often be overloaded with all the trash and loot you get while playing, so use the Stashes in your apartment and vehicles to unload some precious items you don’t want to sell or deconstruct.

Should you drive Car or Bike in Night City

Between driving a car and a motorcycle, the choice is yours. There are plenty of both free and paid models you can choose from. There is one major difference – cars in Cyberpunk 2077 seem to be nearly indestructable. Bikes are easier to fly off from in an incident.

There are no consequences from causing an incident or crashing your car constantly. It will take a very very long time and some serious efforts on your part before you manage to completely break a vehicle. Even if you do so, step away a few meters and call it again, a new “copy” of it will arrive and you will be able to test your excellent driving skills again!

I wrote a preview of the Vehicles of Night City based on an episode of Night City Wire some time ago. Check it out if you want to get some more details and lore information about the different brands, models and variations of cars, trucks, bikes and everything else that you can drive in the game!

Lightning effects and beam lights

Each vehicle you drive in Cyberpunk 2077 has three different lightning modes – completely turned off, a mode which I would call “day lights” and the final one is with all beams on and on max.

You cannot customize the cars and bikes you own and drive, but CD Projekt Red has gone the extra mile to put these little details. And having your lights on during night time is really a breathtaking moment!

You an also honk. Sadly, the drivers in Night City are just as dull and annoying as you would expect and almost nobody will ever make way for you to pass them by if you blow the horn. It’s still fun to hear the many different types of horn sounds for each different type of vehicle. Test them!

FREE cars and motorcycles from Cyberpunk 2077

The best part of this guide! Finally, eh? There are a small, but more than enough number of vehicles you can get for free. Some times they will be a reward for a mission and other times you can just go to the location where the car is, pick it up and it becomes yours!

Hella EC-D 1360 – V’s first car in Night City

The Hella EC-D 1360 model is the first car V will drive in Night City. It is nothing special in terms of visuals or speed, but is sturdy, stable and will get you from point A to point B for sure.

Hella EC-D 1360 - V's first car in Night City
Hella EC-D 1360 - V's first car in Night City
Hella EC-D 1360 - V's first car in Night City

Shortly after you star the story, this car will get wrecked and go into a shop to be repaired as part of the “Human Nature” mission. I know I said cars are nearly indestructible in the game, but this is a scripted story moment :)))

During the short period in which you have no car, you can look around for one of the other vehicles in this guide. Some of them have no level or story requirements and you can pick them up just like that.

The car is an Archer and is quite old. This model has been in production between 2023 (the year of the Nuke as it is known in the Cyberpunk universe) and 2038. It has 225 HP.

Jackie’s Arch (Motorcycle)

This is most likely the first free motorcycle you will get in Cyberpunk 2077.

After Jackie gets “flatlined” as a part of the main storyline (it’s inevitable, in case you are wondering), you will inherit his bike. At the end of the main story mission “The Heist”, select the option to return Jackie’s body to his family. After that call Mama Welles. This will spawn a side job called “Heroes”.

When you go to the garage to pick up Jackie’s things for the memorial organized by his mother, you will see the bike sitting there. Select the book “For Whom the Bell Tolls” to bring to Jackie’s memorial and insist that Misty should come as well.

At the end of the mission, you will get that bike for free. I honestly don’t know if you can turn it down. I played through this mission three times so far and never rejected it. It’s that cool!

To get the bike you do not have to talk to everyone else around as the Optional indicators tell you, but you will miss some additional lore info if you don’t.

Based on how you pace your story, you can get this bike way before your car is actually repaired and ready for you to pick it up.

Interesting fact is that the Arch brand is actually inspired by Keanu Reeves’ own real-life motorcycles company. He talked about his involvement in the creation of the Arch bikes for the game in one of the Night City Wire episodes before the game was released.

This particular bike’s model is a very recent design – from 2075 to 2077. It has 170 HP.

Jackie’s Tuned Arch (Motorcycle)

If during the main job “The Pickup” you have 6+ in Technical Attribute, you can tell Jackie “I’d swap out that tailpipe if I were you”. This will later grant you the “Jackie’s Tuned Arch” version of his bike.

This option is only available if you play as a Nomad Lifepath. It pops up during the dialogue you have with Jackie at the entrance to the All Foods factory, before you enter and meet with the Malestrom gang.

Thanks to LetsPlayNintendoITA this information.

Apollo “Scorpion” (Motorcycle)

Looking for a bike that will hold its ground on the dirt roads in the Badlands? The Aldecaldos’ very own Apollo “Scorpion” model is here for you!

Apollo Scorpion Bike
Apollo Scorpion Bike
Apollo Scorpion Bike

Getting this bike is a result of a mission completion and you can do it very early on in the game if you like the model. Nothing from the story or the various endings will suffer from that, rest asured.

Complete the main story mission “Ghost Town” which starts from the Afterlife club and involves Rogue. Later you meet Panam for the first time as well.

After “Ghost Town” you take on another main story mission with Panam, called “Lightning_Breaks”. The next main mission will follow right away, and is called “Life During Wartime”. At the end of this mission, you will get the bike as a reward.

The Apollo “Scorpion” bike is a design from Brennan, made and sold between 2052 and 2066. It has 94 HP.

Nazare “Itsumade” (Motorcycle)

This one is available as a reward from a mission that is not listed anywhere, called “The Highwayman”. You have to do some serious digging and visit several locations not marked on the map for you to get it.

Nazare Itsumade (Motorcycle)
Nazare Itsumade (Motorcycle)
Nazare Itsumade (Motorcycle)

You actually can get the bike by just going to its location and typing the code 0214. You do not have to complete the mission. If you want to be thorough and have some extra fun, follow the steps below.

To start the side job, you have to head to the southern part of Santo Dimongo, RanchoCoronado:

Facing north-west you will find a garage door. Open it and inspect the bike inside. Then check out the nearby computer to find a photo of Jamie and Josie. This starts the mission “The Highwayman” for you.

Next, in west Japantown, near the bridge, you will find James, sitting on a bench. Talk to him.

James Location Map

After that head to the Metro: The Glen North fast travel point.

Josie Location Map

Josie’s body is in a small alley next to a vending machine, a little to the east from the Fast Travel point. Scan the sidewalk to find the blood stain in front of the vending machine. In the alley, behind the dumpster, scan Josie’s dead body and pick up the note next to her. Go back to James to confront him about what happened.

Finally, head to the All Foods Plant in Northside, Watson – the same place you visited with Jackie in the very early game. When you arrive at the Fast Travel point, head north-west. The garage with the bike is very close, on the other side of the crossroads. Look for the drawings of the horse on the facade of the “green” building.

To open the door type in “0214”. The bike will be added to your collection as soon as you open that door. It’s a new model rear-wheel-drive Arch model packing under its hood 170 HP.

Rayfield Caliburn “Murkmobile” (Hypercar)

The car from the future! Surprisingly the year 2077 and the Dark Future do not mean flying cars are the normal thing to drive.

Classic four-tire vehicles are still the most preferred for driving. It doesn’t mean that technology hasn’t made a giant leap forward though!

Caliburn (Hypercar)
Caliburn (Hypercar)
Caliburn (Hypercar)

Enter the Rayfield Caliburn “Murkmobile”! This vehicle belongs to the most elite and expensive category of cars in Cyberpunk 2077 – the Hypercars.

Fully bulletproof and incredibly luxurious on the inside, this thing doesn’t look much like the cars we drive today.

Luckily for you, this is a car you can go snatch completely for free and without doing a mission to get it. Well, sort of.

It becomes available after you complete the early-game main story mission “Ghost Town”. The car itself is not related to the mission. Wait a few days after you are done with the mission (in-game days that is) and go to this location ain the Badlands on the map:

Caliburn car location

The car is sitting in a garage in the middle of a long dark tunnel. There’s nothing special about it. No enemies to fight on the way, no doors to unlock or break. Just go there, sit in the car, drive it out of the garage and it will bind to you and appear in your list.

The car is designed by Rayfield and is a model from 2070. It’s an all-wheel drive and has the impressive 1660 HP. Hower, this vehicle is not very suitable for the off-roads and you are better off driving it on the streets of Night City and not in the Badlands. Not that you can’t, it just isn’t as much fun.

Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred”

Commisioned in secret by none other than Yorinobu Arasaka himself, this vehicle will be yours after you steal it and complete the side job “Freedom”.

Caliburn Mordred Angle

Mackinaw “Beast”

This large truck is called Beast for a reason! It’s Claire’s car and you get it for free if you go through four races – three in Night City and one in the Badlands. There’s catch, though!

Mackinaw Beast
Mackinaw Beast
Mackinaw Beast

You meet Clair first in the Afterlife bar, she’s a waitress there, but she has a very different passion than serving drinks. Cars. Races! Claire actually owns a car repair shop.

Following the side job development for Claire, you will get the mission “The Beast in Me“. It’s a mission that governs four other sub-missions. Each one of them is about winning a race.

Here comes the spoiler, but if you want the truck, you’ll have to spoil that for yourself!

In the fourth race, the big one, you will have to sacrifice your win and follow Samson as he splits from the race track. You will lose the race and ~4000 Eddies, but Claire will be thankful that you helped her and will give you the Beast as a gift.

The Beast is made by Thorton and is quite an old model, actually – from way back in 2049. It packs 560 HP and is, of course, an all-wheel drive. It handles very rough and jumps like crazy, but is a lot of fun to drive out in the Badlands.

Quadra Type-66 “Cthulhu”

This exotic Quadra car is driven by Samson. It is a reward from the same side job “The Beast in Me“. In the final race, instead of following Claire’s desire for revenge, choose to win the race.

Choose the option “My priority is winning” after the Santo Domingo Race is over when you talk to her. This will open up the opportunity for you to get both cars – the Quadra Type-66 “Cthulhu” and the Mackinaw “Beast”.

Thanks to LetsPlayNintendoITA for pointing out this option in the comments under this guide! Another vehicle added to the collection thanks to that!

Johnny Silverhand’s Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo

The gem from our real lives lives in Cyberpunk 2077 as well! The legendary Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo that Johnny Silverhand drove in the beginning of the 21st Century is available and in fantastic condition in 2077!

Johnny Silverhand's Porsche 911 II
Johnny Silverhand's Porsche 911 II
Johnny Silverhand's Porsche 911 II

This car is rewarded to you during the “Chippin’ In” side job. During the course of that mission you will obtain a bunch of other iconic items that originally belonged to the legendary rockerboy rebel.

I have a full in-depth guide and walkthrough on How to get Johnny Silverhand’s Car, Jacket and Gun in Cyberpunk 2077

This car is actually made in 2077 in the real life and in 2077 it celebrates its 100 years! Classics never die, eh? The Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo has 296 HP and is a real-wheel drive.

Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech – V’s iconic car from the trailers

Prior to the release of the game we saw V driving and posing in and around the Turbo-R V-Tech model from manufacturer Quadra so many times that many of us (me included) thought we’d get this for free by default in the start of the game. Nop.

Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech - V's iconic car from the trailers

How to get the Quadra Turbo-R Car in Cyberpunk 2077

There are several models of the Quadra, but the exact match to the one from the gameplay and trailers of the game from the pre-release marketing is this exact model – Turbo-R V-Tech.

You can get this car by doing the Gig: Life’s Work and then completing the side job “Sex on the Wheels”. I have a full guide on How to get the Quadra Turbo-R Car in Cyberpunk 2077. You can do these relatively early in the game, but some stealth might be enforced on you as the gig job includes high level enemies you need to get through.

This model is from 2058. It’s a rear-wheel drive and has 740 HP. Stable, sturdy and fast, it drives well on all kinds of surfaces.

Colby CX410 Butte

Another free vehicle waiting for you to just go and pick it up. To get the Thorton Colby CX410 “Gran Butte”, you need to have completed the “Ghost Town” main story mission. The vehicle has no relation with the mission at all, it just doesn’t spawn at the location if you have not completed it yet.

Colby CX410 Butte
Colby CX410 Butte

The Colby CX410 Butte will be waiting for you in the Badlands, north-east from the Rocky Ridge Fast Travel Point and right next to the Desert Film Set Fast Travel Point.

Reports from Reddit and Steam forums suggest that you should visit this location before you complete the Badlands main story missions. I myself found it way after that point and while on the final mission myself. If the vehicle is not there, know that it’s likely a bug. You may have to wait for another Cyberpunk 2077 patch to be released, then visit the location again.

The Colby CX410 Butte doesn’t drive smooth and is a bit clunky and raw on the turns, but if classic old style sports truck is what you are going for, this one is just the car for you.

This one is not very fast. It still packs 235 HP in its engine, though. Designed by Thorton it’s the second free vehicle bearing this company’s name you can have completely for free (I mean without paying money).

Thanks to King_Salty for sharing the location of this vehicle in the comments section below this guide!

Thorton Galena GA40XT “Rattler”

This vehicle is unique and available only if you play the game with the Nomad Lifepath. This is V’s very first car that you see in the very first scene in the game.

The Roach Easter egg is always funny to see! This one is very unique too! Roach, the badass horse!

To get this car, you need to complete the “These boots are made for walking” side job. It takes you to the Badlands, where you find a girl, who has discovered your car, fixed and tuned it up a bit and you have two options – pay her to get it back or take the car by threatening her.

The car is loud and weird, but drives nice and you certainly wont find another one like it anywhere around. It’s Nomad-modified, for the lack of a better description.

This is an all-wheel drive model and packs under its hood the impressive 293 HP for its size and looks. It only fits two people, but you will never have to drive more than one passenger anyway.

Delamain No. 21

this car is a reward for you for completing a side job involving the AI taxi system called Delamain. You need to find and reset several lost vehicles (one in each of the Districts of Night City).

Delamain No. 21
Delamain No. 21
Delamain No. 21

The side job that starts it all is called “Epistrophy”. It is given to you automatically shortly after you complete one of the first main jobs with Jackie involving Demalain, this is pretty early in the game.

After you help Delamain collect its lost vehicles (quite funny story behind each one!) you will be called to the Delamain HQ. The new side job that tasks you with this is called “Don’t Lost your Mind”. This is the job that, if you choose the correct answer in the end, will give you the Demalain No. 21 car.

A virus is taking over Delamain’s core and you have to help. If you have the perk that grants you shock immunity you will get through this mission a lot quicker. If not, be careful of the floor-is-lava effect inside Delamain’s HQ. To get the car, you must choose the option to Reset Delamain or set his multiple personalities free. On your way out of the building, the AI will tell you that it has a gift for you – one of its own taxi cars, the Delamain No. 21.

This is a classic model, more than twenty years old at the time. It’s got 333 HP and is a rear-wheel drive that has been in production between 2038 and 2053.

Delamain No. 21

Villefort Alvarado V4FC 580 “Vato”

The most pimped vehicle you can get for free is Villefort’s Alvarado V4FC 580 “Vato”. This giant six-wheel car can be yours if you defeat your opponent in the side job “Beat on the Brat: The Glen”.

To get that side job you have to talk to the local merchant that is located in the atrium of the megabuilding where V’s apartment is. He will start the side jobs chain called “Beat on the Brat”.

There will be several opponents you must defeat to complete it, but if you are only interested in getting the car, then head to The Glen to fight El Cesar for the “Beat on the Brat: The Glen” side job.

He is desperate for money and will bet his car. When you defeat him (tip: use double-jump and Berserk if you have these cyberware implants). At the end you will choose to leave him with the money, but take the car, take both or leave him both.

The car is a Villefort design that is over twenty years old at the time the game takes place. It packs 407 HP and is a front-wheel drive with two pairs of wheels on the left and right front side. It’s quite a long vehicle too.

Quadra Type-66 “Hoon”

The Quadra Type-66 “Hoon” is a weaponized car, left alone in an abandoned warehouse in Northside, Watson.

Quadra Type-66 Hoon Map

When you approach the location, Johnny will bring your attention to the vehicle and ask you to open it.

Quadra Type-66 Hoon

This will also grant you a side job called “I’m in Love with My Ride”. At a small black box under some rubble right next to the car, you will find the key to unlock it. Enter and exit the car to complete the mission. The Quadra Type-66 “Hoon”is now yours.

Quadra Type-66 Hoon Helper Image

The frightened Delamain that initially hides and then tries to flee during the mission Epistrophy: Northside will lead you right past this car. As you drive by, you’ll get the mission, so you can come back after you’ve dealt with the fugitive sentient robo-taxi.

Thorton Mackinaw “Saguaro”

The Thorton Mackinaw “Saguaro” truck is a reward from Dakota for completing all gigs she gives you in Night City.

Quadra Type-66 640TS

The Quadra Type-66 640TS is a reward for completing all gigs for Dino in Night City.

Thorton Mackinaw “Demiurge”

This Monster Truck is accessible by anyone after performing a series of actions in strict order. Some of the steps are part of the mysterious “Magenta” easter egg that you may have heard about.

To get the truck, you need to do the following:

  1. Go inside the abandoned church north of Protein Farm Fast Travel point in the Badlands.
  2. Wait for 4 AM and check the computer terminal. Open all documents and files.
  3. Turn on the Arasaka machine. Exit as soon as you see the main menu of the mini game.
  4. Find the dirty old mattress northwest of Wraith Camp in the Badlands. Stand on it for 7 real life minutes, don’t do anything.
  5. Enjoy your new free Monster Truck!

We have a full guide and video for this puzzle if you need some more details and more precise directions for each step.
