This is a guide and walkthrough for the Judy Alvarez Romance in Cyberpunk 2077. All steps you need to take to trigger the romantic outcome!
This guide is up-to-date for Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3
Requirements to be able to romance Judy Alvarez
Judy Alvarez is a pivotal character in Cyberpunk 2077. She is the one who helps you through your first Braindance and plays an important role in the Evelyn Parker storyline.
It is important to note that Judy Alvarez is a lesbian. If you are playing as a male and make a move on her, she will reject you!
Completing the Judy Alvarez story arc is going to award you an Achievement in Cyberpunk 2077. Don’t miss it.
Judy appears in no less than five side jobs storylines and quite a few main quests. Judy can be romanced only by a female V character with a female body type.
In the final side quest, you can be intimate with her. The romance will take you to the waterside and be followed up by a steamy romantic scene in the cabin.
Much like the River Ward romance, Judy calls, you answer! And always accept her requests too. Be supportive, be friendly but in this case: do not ever accept any money from her whenever she offers. Kiss her when the opportunity arises.
Here is a list of all the missions and dialogues in an order that will lead to the Judy Alvarez romance. All of these picks will lead to Judy and V having a romantic scene in the cabin at the end. So it is well worth reading this guide!
Choices during the Both Sides, Now job
The first side job is called Both Sides, Now. It takes place in Watson. It will trigger only after you complete the main story quest Double Life, you will have to wait for 24 hours and Judy will give you a call before it will be listed in your quest log.
This is a very emotional quest for both V and Judy. It involves the kidnapping of Evelyn Parker and both ladies have to work together to get Evelyn back. And while they manage to get Evelyn back, she is so incredibly traumatized that all she does is lay on the bed in Judy’s apartment.
When Judy goes to the market at one point and comes back home, Evelyn has committed suicide and V is the first to get a call from Judy to help out with a lifeless Evelyn.
Judy manages to pull out a Braindance, which shows that Evelyn was brutally raped by Woodman. Evelyn was working with the Voodoo Boys.
Whatever dialogue you pick in this side quest, it does not matter for the romance options later. It is merely a good quest that fleshes out the main story and both Evelyn and Judy’s characters a little more.
Although it does seem that Evelyn is being used as a plot device here to trigger Judy. Judy will go on a quest for revenge.
Choices during the Ex-Factor job
You will get another text message from Judy a few days after Both sides, now has ended. The text is named “EV’s Send Off”. Send a reply whenever you have a moment and Judy will give you a call a few hours later.
Of course you will choose “Yeah, I’ll help” to start the quest. If you decline whether by accident or not, don’t worry. You can call back later and still do the quest.
Choices during the Talkin’ ’bout a revolution job
And again after a few days following the completion of the Ex-Factor job, you will get a message from Judy. You can either skip the time with 24 hours or just play for 24 hours (24 in-game hours, not 24 real life hours).
There are a few new people in Judy’s apartment. Talk to them and choose “You can count on me” because it is imperative to trigger the next side quest.
If you choose to decline or hit decline by accident then you can always call back later, just like in Ex-Factor but you would be better off to accept straightaway because that is what will work for the romance at the end of the Judy Alvarez questline.
Judy will want to pay for your help but politely decline. As mentioned before: you accept the money and you won’t get any love out of it later.
Reply with “Forget about it. It’s passed” then choose “Sure, thanks” and if you do that you will spend the night at her place, and she will have breakfast for you bringing you one step closer to winning her over!
Choices during the Pisces job
A few days later, after you finish the Talkin’ ’bout a revolution job, Judy will message you again. It doesn’t matter what you pick so just go ahead and reply with whatever.
Go to the penthouse where the gang bosses are and pick the following dialogues: “Let’s do this” followed by: “Who are the other two?“. Next, choose “Do my best. Jack ’em out” followed by “Hold on, think you’ve gone too far” and then “Let’s cut to the quick“, you kill the gang bosses, “What?” and “You tried to cheat us all” kill or knock out Maiko.
If you go along with Maiko’s plan or accept her payment, Judy will want nothing to do with you and all your chance of a date with Judy will vanish into thin air.
What you want is for the gang bosses to draw first blood. Finish the mission and when you talk to Judy afterward, it doesn’t matter what you say. Whether it’s a “Sorry” or “Wasn’t my fault”. She will be too shocked but that’s normal.
Choices during the The Pyramid Song job
A week after Pisces and after you have eventually done some more questing, Judy will give you a call and the quest The Pyramid Son will be triggered.
She will invite you to go diving and you have to choose “Hell yeah, I am in“. You can mess it up by declining. You can always give her a call and tell her that you have changed your mind.
Go diving with her at the cabin. Doing optional quests is always fun but not a requirement for the romance. They do add extra dialogue options.
After you are done with the underwater fun, you have to accept Judy’s invite to spend the night at the cabin.
The following dialogue option applies: “[Stand] Why not” and if you refuse then it is all over. Because the other option is “Bad idea, prolly” and you will miss out on the romance.
The bathroom scene is where it’s happening. In order to trigger the romance scene, you have to choose “[Sit] We’re still synced“, followed by “[Touch] It is ours” and kiss her. From there on out you will hit the third base.
The day after, Judy will wait by the pier and initiate a chat. Pick the dialogue option “the beginning of something amazing” and you will be in a relationship with Judy.
You get the keys to her apartment as well. You can also keep it to a one-night stand and tell her that all of this was just one big distraction.
Romancing Judy Alraves if you play as a male V
As mentioned several times in this guide, Judy Alvarez is a lesbian. So if you are hitting on her as a male she will reject you. If you go diving with Judy as a male and try to flirt with her by saying that she is looking mighty fine in her bathing suit, she will be repulsed because it is coming from a male V.
And if you look at her butt while swimming behind her, she will get mad and insult you!

Notes
