Ewan McGregor was a guest at Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday to talk about his upcoming Netflix limited series film, but what concerns us here as Star Wars fans – he shared a few new and interesting details about the ongoing filming of the Obi-Want Kenobi show for DisneyPlus!

Ewan McGregor joined Kimmel live for a brief chat while the actor from the set where he’s currently working on the upcoming DisneyPlus exclusive Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series.

Kimmel started off with a question about the background behind Ewan. On the wall behind him there were the classic posters from Star Wars Episodes 2 and 3. Then Ewan revealed that he’s currently “on the set, in the studio where we’re still shooting the Star Wars series”.

Sadly for all of us, Ewan refused to pick up the computer and the camera and give us all a walk around the studio and refused Kimmel’s request. Like Ewan said “they can’t fire me, but they wouldn’t be at all happy with me”.

Kimmel asked if Ewan’s dressing room is bigger than Darth Vader’s. Ewan immediately fired out “I haven’t been in his dressing room”. He then quickly tried to cover up the potential spoiler/reveal he wasn’t sure he allowed to slip out of his mouth by saying “but he might also not be in the show”.

Lucklily for Ewan, the fact that Darth Vader will be in this show was officially confirmed months ago.

This will truly be a day long remembered, as it was confirmed that Hayden Christensen will be returning as Darth Vader. “This will be the rematch of the century,” Kennedy said.

Hayden Christensen was quoted to say for that reveal the following statement:

It was such an incredible journey playing Anakin Skywalker. Of course, Anakin and Obi-Wan weren’t on the greatest of terms when we last saw them… It will be interesting to see what an amazing director like Deborah Chow has in store for us all. I’m excited to work with Ewan again. It feels good to be back.”

Kimmel reacted quickly asking if the actor was not informed of what was officially revealed already and what he is allowed to talk. Ewan threw a fun joke instead of an answer “admitting” that he only gets pages with words in random order that he is supposed to say and the team puts together later in editing.

Ewan shared an interesting detail about a scene he recently filmed for the show. On May the Fourth he got to film a very special scene with someone very dear and close to him.

While we still don’t know who that person was, speculations are running wild already with Ewan’s girlfriend (actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead) being the a logical suspect.

Kimmel also asked how the actor felt in the old costume. McGregor explained that the feeling of being back in the Star Wars universe was amazing and he felt very good about it. The costume, however, is different what he appeared in for Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

The costume may be slightly different than what you might expect, but to go back into the role was great. It’s like all’s still there. It feels good. There’s some great scripts and great people to work with. I’m having a great time” – Ewan said and also added “Before we did months of blue screen and green screen acting and now we’ve got this extraordinary technology where we work inside a big screen and the backgrounds are on there. It feels much more realistic.”

During the interview Ewan talked about a few other things from his personal life, like his 50th birthday back in March and his, apparently exceptional, unicycle riding skills.
