This guide shows you how to get the Greataxe from the Caravan pulled by two Trolls and surrounded by soldiers in Elden Ring!

Where to find the the two Trolls pulling a Caravan

In the first region in Elden Ring, called Limsgrave, there is a large caravan that is being pulled by two Trolls. Behind that caravan, there are a bunch of weak(er) soldiers. At the backside of that caravan, there is a large chest. Inside you will find the Greataxe.

The caravan is moving and seems to be respawning after it reaches the end of its path. You will most likely find it on the main path leading southeast from the Agheel Lake North Grace checkpoint.

Where to find the Two Giants and the Caravan

You can find a good clear spot to wait for it if you are not certain you can face the soldiers following it. The caravan is always moving on the road and the two trolls are pulling it at an extremely slow pace.

To get the Greataxe from the chest in that caravan, you will need to stop it first. While the two trolls are moving, you can’t open that chest.

How to stop the Caravan

To stop the caravan from moving, you have to take down at least one of the two trolls. Beating them is a relatively easy task. They are bound to the caravan by a massive chain and cannot move freely.

If you can fight them from a distance, using spells, that would be a quick and easy fight. From melee, be careful not to get stomped on by the troll you are fighting.

Strangely enough, only the troll you engage will fight you back. And only when you are close enough (melee range). The other one seems to just stand there and wait.

Once you take down one of the two trolls, the other one will kneel and the caravan will stop.

How to open the Chest from the Caravan

Even though it’s a bit of a sad view with that second troll kneeling in desperation and probably deadly tired from pulling the caravan, I suggest you take him down as well. Each of the two trolls will reward you with +1000 Runes.

How to get the Greataxe in Elden Ring

After you have stopped the caravan, head to its back side. Be careful with the soldiers there. Sometimes they will be at enough distance, so you can freely hop on and open the chest.

You can choose to take them all down. That’s extra runes after all. They are nothing out of the ordinary. Types of soldiers that you have certainly fought previously in Limgrave. If you prefer to save yourself from the trouble, just go quickly loot the chest before one of the spots you.

Stats and requirements of the Greataxe

The Greataxe is ideal for a melee build. Axes are the starter weapon for the Hero class, but everyone who covers the stats requirements and enjoys this kind of a weapon, can wield it.

The Hero is the highest Strength starter class in Elden Ring, but they start with 16. The minimum requirement to use this Greataxe is 30 Strength. You have to level up your character to equip it.

The Greataxe has a “Barbaric Roar” special effect, which has a 16 FP Cost to use.
