What are Legendary Ashen Remains
Legendary Ashen Remains are a named subset of the Spirit Ashes. They tend to be stronger than run-of-the-mill Spirit Ashes and require Ghost Gloveworts to upgrade rather than just regular Grave Gloveworts. In addition, they cost more FP to summon than regular Spirit Ashes, all costing over 100 FP.
There are six Legendary Ashen Remains to be found throughout the Lands Between. This guide will cover where you can find all of them and get the “Legendary Ashen Remains” achievement.

Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff Location
The Legendary Ashen Remains of Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff are dropped by defeating the Ancient Hero of Zamor mini boss at the end of the Sainted Hero’s Grave. The Sainted Hero’s Grave can be found towards the center of the Atlus Plateau near the edge of Lyndell’s outer wall.
Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff costs 108 FP to summon
Black Knife Tiche Location
The Legendary Ashen Remains of Black Knife Tiche are dropped by defeating Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader at the Ringleader’s Evergaol, which is located on the northwest corner of the Moonlight Altar plateau in southwest Liurnia.
The Moonlight Altar is only accessible by completing Ranni the Witch’s quest, which requires touring through the entirety of the underground via coffin (Nokron, Deeproot Depths, Nokstella, and the Lake of Rot) and defeating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.
Black Knife Tiche costs 132 FP to summon
Cleanrot Knight Finlay Location
The Legendary Ashen Remains of Cleanrot Knight Finlay can be found in a chest guarded by a Cleanrot Knight in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. Cleanrot Knight Finlay costs 127 FP to summon
Lhutel the Headless Location
The Legendary Ashen Remains of Lhutel the Headless are dropped by defeating the Cemetery Shade mini boss at the end of the Tombsward Catacombs. The Tombsward Catacombs are located towards the center of the Weeping Peninsula, slightly north of the Minor Erdtree.
Mimic Tear Location
The Legendary Ashen Remains of the Mimic Tear are found in a chest behind a Stonesword Key door in Night’s Sacred Ground, a sub-area of Nokron, Eternal City. Accessing Night’s Sacred Ground requires that you have defeated Starscourge Radhan so you can enter Nokron through the crater near Mistwood Forest and Fort Haight in Limgrave.
This is one of the best and most useful companions you can summon in battle. It mimics your own avatar and performs as best as your own build would, but is controlled by the AI.
The Mimic Tear costs 660 HP to summon. This is also unique as it is arguably the only Ashes that every player can use. If you play a melee build you may not have high enough FP to summon any of the other Legendary ashen remains. The Mimic Tear costs HP and this makes it available to absolutely everyone.
By the time you reach the area where this chest is, you will have at least two or three times the amount of HP required and will have plenty of HP Flasks at high tier to be able to afford to summon it easly.
Redmane Knight Ogha Location
The Legendary Ashen Remains of Redmane Knight Ogha are dropped by defeating the Putrid Tree Spirit mini boss at the end of the War-Dead Catacombs in northeast Caelid.
These catacombs are located in Starscourge Radhan’s arena, so you must defeat him before gaining access to the Catacombs, though defeating the Putrid Tree Spirit here is significantly more challenging than defeating Starscourge Radhan.
If you’re struggling with the surrounding areas like Dragonbarrow, the Putrid Avatar at the nearby Minor Erdtree, and Fort Faroth, you might want to level up and come back later.
