LEGO Star Wars UCS Landspeeder (Ultimate Collector Series) has just been confirmed! Luke Skywalker’s speeder will go on sale this May 4th!
Ultimate Collector Series are high-end LEGO sets created for people who want the best quality and detail in a LEGO figure. Star Wars vehicles and ships are iconic and memorable, all of them are engraved in our memories and some of us want a LEGO set that can live up to those memories.
Usually, we only get a UCS model once a year, but since 2022 is a huge year for Star Wars, there’s a small possibility that we get more models later this year.
UCS Landspeeder preview and thoughts
The UCS Landspeeder, is a design made by LEGO set designer César Carvalhosa Soares. The model is made by 1,890 pieces, it features a plaque with the vehicle’s description, a new molded cockpit and two minifigures. Luke Skywalker and an exclusive C-3PO with one gold and silver molded legs as well as a new side printing on both arms and legs.
With small scratches on the paint, a combination of copper-orange, brick-red and dark grey colors and a chrome grill, the 49cm long Landspeeder is incredibly detailed and as screen-accurate, as it gets.
UCS can be very pricey, the AT-AT and Millenium Falcon had an estimate price of $800 USD, depending on your country’s tax laws and importation fees. Compared to that, the $200 USD price tag on the UCS Landspeeder won’t impact our wallets as much as previous releases.
I shall remind you that UCS models are not made for kids, they are not toys. I know that may sound odd for a LEGO set, but these delicate models are created for collectors.
Obviously, I’m no one to say what your kid can or can’t play with, if you want to give your children a UCS that’s perfectly fine. Regardless, every UCS model is available in a smaller and more affordable version that you, or your kid, can use to play without worrying too much about how delicate or expensive it was.
The LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker Landspeeder set is available for LEGO VIPs starting May 1, 2022. The rest of the public can purchase it on May 4th at LEGO stores and LEGO.com
