This Outriders Worldslayer Technomancer Build offers a safe, relaxed way to grind out loot that scales incredibly well. You’ll enjoy watching enemies melt to the Turret Terror Technomancer!
The Turret Terror Technomancer is an Anomaly Power build that utilizes new mod additions to deal high, consistent damage. It makes use of the new Techmonger Set for Technomancer while borrowing mods from the Borealis Monarch Set.
This Build has been updated for the July 29 Update.
TABLE OF CONTENTS:
Passive Point Allocations
With the addition of Outriders: Worldslayer’s content, we now have three set of passive points to allocate and maximize our build. We’ll be going over the Class Skill Tree, the Pax Skill Tree, and Ascension Passives in this section and talking about the powerful combinations at play to really make this build shine.
Class Skill Tree
This Skill Tree focuses on the Demolisher section. This offers benefits to our main skills, Cryo Turret and Blighted Turret as well as other bonuses. We’ll quickly cover the Notable Passives on the tree below.
If you would like more information on these passives, or more information on the Technomancer in general, check out our Technomancer Class Guide.
The Minor passives here focus on Anomaly Power, Resistance Piercing, Freezing effects, and Toxic Effects. Most notably we’ll be following the Demolisher Branch until just before the final passives of the branch, while picking up key nodes in the middle.
Adrenalizing Antenna provides us with a boost of Anomaly power every time we toss out a Decay Skill, in this case Blighted Turret. We’ll be using it often not only for this effect but also for the set bonus of the Techmonger set.
Wipe Out provides us with additional damage to low-health enemies. This is important for our Elite damage, as everything else will be defeated quickly without this boost.
Exposing Frost provides us with a free and reliable application of Vulnerable. While our turrets can trigger this effect passively through the Pax Tree, this makes it much more consistent and useful.
Marked For Execution provides us with a stronger Vulnerable effect. For the extra point after picking up Exposing Frost, it’s well worth it. Most enemies will be permanently frozen and afflicted with Vulnerable, so this will provide a nice damage boost.
Pax Skill Tree
Added with the Worldslayer Expansion, the Pax Skill Tree is home to several powerful passives that can drastically alter how a build may play. While we only get 5 points to spend here, we’ll be getting some powerful effects that drastically increase our damage output. Below is the Pax Skill Tree we’ll be using for the build.
We’ll be using the Following Pax Skill Tree Nodes:
- Initial Striker
- Lethal Devices
- Pain Killer
- Permanence
- Dissection
Initial Striker gives us a nice little Anomaly Power boost any time we activate a skill. Once we get enough Cooldown Reduction, Blighted Turret will be our main way of keeping this bonus active.
Lethal Devices allows both of our turrets to inflict Toxic. Each Time Toxic is applied, we’ll also deal extra damage based on our Anomaly Power. With turrets that are rapidly hitting for damage, this will be a significant boost in damage, which often makes up a large percentage of our damage.
the secondary damage effect was given a short cooldown in the July 29 Update, making this a little weaker, but still worth using.
Pain Killer is more or less taken as a pass-though but does provide us with some extra health regen in the process. Since our Turrets activate this effect, it will be active indefinitely during combat.
Permanence allows us to inflict additional statuses when we apply Toxic. This allows both of our turrets to apply multiple status, beyond Freeze, Toxic, and Vulnerable. This plays directly into out Pax Tree Capstone, Dissection.
Dissection grants us a multiplicative 5% damage increase for each status applied on an enemy. With there being 8 total statuses that can be applied, this end up resulting in a nearly 50% damage increase. These bonuses also apply alongside other mods we’ll be using for similar effects.
Ascension Passives
Ascension Passives are also a new Addition with Worldslayer, adding an additional way to increase your stats and refine your build. As you’d expect, we’ll be prioritizing bonuses that help our build as a priority, though you can eventually max out all bonuses.
Below is a list of our five main stat priorities, and the order we should get them.
- Anomaly Damage
- Status Power
- Resistance Piercing
- Anomaly Power
- Damage vs Elites
Anomaly Damage is a multiplier to our damage dealt by skills and status effects, which make up the bulk of our damage. This is a great first stat to pick up, as it’ll just be a free 10% damage, on top of everything else.
Status Power is out next important stat, we need this for two reasons. One reason is that our Cryo Turrets will be running Hail Shot, which scales their damage off Status Power. The other is to allow Status Effects to last longer, so we can take better advantage of Permanence and Dissection from our Pax Tree.
Resistance Piercing is another great stat to pick up. Since our turrets hit faster than they do harder, it’s better to have the Resistance Piercing for additonal damage. In additon, we cna also turn this into additional Anomaly power later on if we get the right mods.
Anomaly Power is next. By the time we start picking this up, we should have a good baseline of Anomly power to be scaled by this passive. This will eventually increase our Anomaly Power by 10%, so the more we get from items and being higher level, the strong this will become.
Damage vs Elites is our last stat we really need. This gives us just a little extra damage where we need it the most. We’ll do solid damage without it, but it’s another bonus worth considering.
Skills and Mods
Now we’ll dive a bit into the Skills we’ll be using with this build. Cryo Turret is the star of the build, being heavily modded for damage dealing. Blighted Turret isn’t too far behind, though only using a mod or two at best. Finally, we have Cold Snap as a support skill to help with AoE clearing as well as some additional safety.
Cyro Turret
Cyro Turret is out main damage dealer, as when all the mods for it are used we’ll have two very quick firing turrets that deal excellent damage. It’ll get a nice boost from the Techmonger set, which supplies some of the necessary mods, while the set bonus further boosts its damage. We’ll be using the following Mods to support this:
- Double Trouble
- Twins
- Improved Coolant
- Increase Damage
- Hail Shot
Double Trouble gives us double-barreled turrets, which double their rate of fire. This is one of two mods we’ll be using to increase their fire rate, and are fairly mandatory to make the build work well.
Double Trouble is a Tier 3 mod which appears on the Techmonger’s Mask Legendary Helmet. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic mod on any Helmet, but will appear more often on Legendary Helmets.
Twins is a mod we’ll be borrowing from the Borealis Monarch Set. This mod will enable us to deploy two Cryo Turrets for twice the damage output.
Twins is a Tier 3 Mod which appears on the Crown of the Borealis Monarch Legendary Helmet. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Helmets but will appear more often on Legendary Helmets.
Improved Coolant is another mod that will double the Fire Rate of our Cyro Turrets. Much like Double Trouble, this will allow us to rapidly apply Toxic to take advantage of Lethal Devices, Permanence, and Dissection from our Pax Tree.
Increase Damage is a mod that will give our Cryo Turrets a bump in damage. While it’s not 100% necessary to the build, it comes on our Techmonger’s Vest, so there’s no real reason to remove it.
Hail Shot is an important mod for scaling our damage, as it allows us to scale the damage of our Cryo Turrets by stacking Status Power. We get plent of Status from our Techmonger Set, but we’ll also be looking to have it on our Boots and Gloves slots as well.
Blighted Turret
The Blighted Turret’s main function is to just be a low cooldown skill to trigger multiple passives with. It will however be able to deal fairly good damage between its refreshes thanks to Lethal Devices. We’ll be using the following mod to support this, but this is not required:
- Face Melter
Face Melter can be a nice option if you’re having trouble rolling good boots, as its the only worthwhile Class Mod for the Boots slot in this build. It grants Blighted Turret the ability to reduce enemy Resistance, boosting our damage a bit.
Cold Snap
Cold Snap is mostly for safety, but will also apply both Freeze and Toxic to enemies in range. This locks them down and gives you a good bit of health recovery via Skill Leech. It can generally fill its purpose without mods, but here are a few mods that can be useful:
- Icicle Storm
Icicle Storm gives us a bit of extra AoE Clearing power that can be incredibly useful. It causes enemies affected by Cold Snap to explode on death, dealing high damage to nearby enemies. It’s a small range unfortunately but can help for encounters with a lot of melee enemies.
Icicle Storm is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on the Robe of the Borealis Monarch Legendary Upper Armor.
Additional Armor Mods
There is a handful of additional Armor we can make use of that we should be always on the lookout for. Ideally, these would appear as Apocalyptic Mods, but if any from the lists above take their place, that will work just as well. Here are a few to keep in mind as you look over your gear drops:
- Arms and Anomaly
- Anomaly Echo
- Unstoppable Force
- “Status Boosters”
- Captain Hunter
Arms and Anomaly is a great choice of extra Armor Mod. This gives us a high boost of Anomaly Power. This effect scale with Item Level, so make sure it’s on your highest level piece when it can be.
Arms and Anomaly is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on Ronin’s Amigasa Legendary Helmet. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Gloves but is more likely to appear on Legendary Gloves.
Anomaly Echo is another solid Anomaly Power Bonus that we can make use of. Since we’ll be frequently using Blighted Turrets, this will be easy to maintain and provide a solid boost.
“Status Boosters” are the mods like Freezing Boost that increase our damage against enemies afflicted with various Status Effects. These are powerful, multiplicative bonuses, so don’t be fooled by their low values. In our case, we’ll be looking to Euthanizer, Virulent Compound, Radical Therapy, Shatter, and Freezing Boost.
The listed Tier 3 Status Booster mods luckily drop across various Technomancer Gear Pieces. This will make them much easier to obtain without the use of another character.
Unstoppable Force is a mod that can give us a nice bump in Anomaly power, based on our Resistance Piercing. You can attempt to scale this further through No Resistance Against the Fortified, but we’ll mostly be looking to use it on its own due to our already limited Mod Space.
Unstoppable Force is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on the Hands of the Reforged Legendary Pyromancer Gloves. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on any Boots but is more likely to appear on Legendary Boots.
Captain Hunter is another multiplicative damage booster, similar to Status Boosters. However, this only takes effect against Elites. Thankfully, Elites tend to be the enemies we want to most damage against, so this works out.
Captain Hunter appears on the Gauntlets of the Cannonball Legendary Gloves. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Any Upper Armor but is more likely to appear on Legendary Upper Armor.
Weapon Mods
There’s a handful of Good weapon mods we can be on the lookout for, including many variations of Damage effects, or even effects that boost our Anomaly Damage, Anomaly Power. We won’t cover them all here, just a few of the highly recommended ones. Below is a quick list of Weapon mods you can look out for:
- Mage’s Rage
- Fortress
- Omen
- First Things First
Mage’s Rage is a powerful mod that grants us a huge boost in Anomaly Power for landing Critical Shots. This mod is a staple of Anomaly Power Builds for the power it offers to those builds.
Similar to Fortress, this bonus now falls off after you swap weapons after the July 29 Update. This means you’ll be more focused on having your Mage’s Rage and Fortress weapon out more consistently, or have to restack them often if weapon swapping.
Mage’s Rage is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on the Final Penance Legendary Double Gun. It can also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Weapons but has a Higher Chance of Appearing on Legendary Weapons.
Fortress is a mod that’s essential to most builds as its bonuses are unrivaled by most mods. Offering both strong defensive and offensive bonuses, it’s a highly recommended mod in most setups. It’s only disadvantage coming from if you need to swap weapons frequently, as this will disable its buff.
Fortress is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on the Deathshield Legendary Automatic Shotgun. It can also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Weapons but has a higher chance of Appearing on Legendary Weapons.
Omen is another powerful mod we can fit into the build. Not only does this increase our damage directly, but it can also allow us to make use of the Tainted Blood and Bloody Boost Status Booster mods as well for more damage increases.
Omen is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on the Mythos Legendary Light Machinegun. It can also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Weapons but has a higher chance of Appearing on Legendary Weapons.
First Things First has found its niche as a gimmicky mod in ability-focused builds. For it to provide value it absolutely needs to combined with No Resistance Against the Fortified and Unstoppable Force. It does however make a nice budget option in addition to the mods above if you have those mods.
This mod’s effect was reduced to 30% in the July 29 update, but still remains a decent option if desired. Though to benefit from it as well as Mage’s Rage and Fortress, they would all need top be on the same gun, which limits your options.
Gear and Stats
Now that we’ve talked about the Skills and Mods you’ll want to look out for, let’s talk about the gear you’ll want to find them on.
Pre-Legendary Gear
Prior to getting Legendary gear, we’ll of course be looking to find Epic gear with great mods. We’ll be looking for Epic gear with the following four Stats, in order of priority:
- Anomaly Power
- Status Power
- Cooldown Reduction
- Skill Leech
Anomaly Power is our main stat, so having more of it is generally a great way of increasing damage. We’ll want as much of this as we can get to increase our damage output.
Status Power is our next priority. This is because we’ll be looking to use the Hail Shot mod for Cryo Turret, which increases its damage based on Status Power. Additionally, this works will with Lethal Devices and Permanence to apply multiple status effects with increased damage and duration.
Cooldown Reduction is up next, as this cap out at a maximum of 55%, which we cna get from our armor. This allows us to more easily maintain certain buffs we get when activating Blighted Turret, as well as more frequent use of Cold Snap for added safety.
Skill Leech is the final stat we want. This provides us with a fair bit of healing power, as our turrets will be able to more easily top off our health in combat with this.
Post-Legendary Gear
Once we get Legendary Items, we’ll be looking to get the gear shown below. This will be our ideal gear set and maximize our damage. This Gear Set uses the Techmonger’s Mask, Techmonger’s Vest, and Techmonger’s Leg Armor pieces from the Techmonger Armor Set.
Techmonger’s Mask
The Techmonger’s Mask is the helmet for the Techmonger’s Set. It comes with our Ideal stats of Anomaly Power, Status Power, and Cooldown Reduction.
It Comes with Double Trouble naturally, which is a mod we want in our final build. As shown above, this is generally the ideal place to craft on the Twins Mod, as our other mod slot doesn’t provide us with much.
A Perfect Helmet would be one that rolls Twins or Euthanizer as an Apocalytpic Mod, with the remaining mod of the two being crafted on.
Techmonger’s Vest
The Techmonger’s Vest is the Upper Armor for the Techmonger’s Set. it comes with the Ideal stats of Anomaly Power, Cooldown Reduction, and Status Power.
Realistically, we have no absolute need for this set piece other than the set bonus. Increase damage is the only mod that could make it into our final build. However, this is a much easier to get Upper Armor with our ideal stats.
A Perfect Upper Armor would be the Techmonger’s Vest with Captain Hunter as an Apocalyptic Mod. No Resistance Against the Fortified is also an option here, but only if you can craft Unstoppable Force onto your gear or get it as an Apocalyptic Mod. Additionally, the opposing mod can be crafted on over Hazardous Modifications, since it’s actually detrimental to our overall damage.
Techmonger’s Leg Armor
The Techmonger’s Leg Armor is the Lower Armor from the Techmonger Set. It comes with our ideal stats of Anomaly Power, Cooldown Reduction, and Status Power.
The Techmonger’s Leg Armor is actually great, as it rolls two very useful mods for us, only leaving Apocalyptic Mods as the final bit to work on. These are basically irreplaceable as a set piece due to that.
A Perfect Lower Armor would be the Techmonger’s Leg Armor, with Shatter or Virulent Compound in the Apocalyptic Mod slot. Both of these offer significant damage bonuses to the build, with Shatter being slightly stronger.
Epic Gloves and Boots
Our Epic Boots and Gloves are going to follow the same use as the Pre-Legendary Gear Above. This mean we’ll be looking for the following:
- Anomaly Power
- Status Power
- Cooldown Reduction / Skill Leech
- Mods listed above that are not already in the build
- As close to “perfect” as possible (See below)
For Starters, before we get into talking about perfect gear, we want them to have the right stats. That helps boost the power of our build Significantly before any Mod RNG is involved. However, mods are another ordeal.
For Perfect Gloves, we’d be looking for them to also roll Radical Therapy as the main Mod, as well as Arms and Anomaly as an Apocalyptic Mod. This allows us to drop whatever Class Mod rolls for another mod missing from our build. the only slightly relevant mod we can roll as a class mod would be Long Winter, which is only marginally helpful by giving us more Cold Snap Range.
For Perfect Boots, we’d be looking to roll Toxic Piercer as the main mod, as well as Unstoppable Force as our Apocalyptic Mod. Optionally we can work with Face Melter here as well, but Toxic does a significant portion of our damage which can add up over an encounter. Either way, this leaves a mod slot left for us to craft on any remaining mods.
The Mods we’d ideally be squeezing in with the final crafts, assuming all other gear is perfect would be:
- Hail Shot
- Virulent Compound or Shatter, whichever is not on your Lower Armor
This allows us to get all of our key mods and set them up perfectly. Granted packing all of them in requires insane RNG and Luck to get them where we’d want them.
Skill Rotations
Being a turret but you really only have one Rotation. There’s nothing fancy to it at all.
Blighted Turret
Cryo Turret (x2)
- Stack Mage’s Rage / Fortress
Blighted Turret
- Repeat
We operate by tossing out Blighted turret to grant several immediate bonuses and a stack of our Techmonger Set Bonus. We then deploy our
Cryo Turrets, followed by stacking up Any Stacking weapon buffs we have.
We’ll be using Blighted Turret as soon as it’s off cooldown, to both maintain our Techmonger Set Bonus and refresh the major passives from our Skill Tree.
Cold Snap can also be used off cooldown to make use of Icicle Storm, just be careful to make sure you’re not freezing too many things out of the line of sight of your
Cryo Turrets
After this, it’s all about refreshing your Cyro Turrets and Weapon buffs as needed. A good optimization when replacing your Cyro Turrets is to wait for the first turret to be set up completely, before placing the second. This minimizes any DPS loss of not having at least one shooting at any time.
