Outriders Worldslayer Technomancer Build Guide: Blighted Charge

RubyRose by RubyRose|

This Outriders Worldslayer Technomancer Build offers a strong mix of Skill and Weapon usage, allowing for strong Area and Single-target damage. You’ll enjoy shredding through frozen enemies with the Blighted Charge Technomancer.

This Build has been updated for the July 29 Update.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

The Blighted Charge Technomancer is an Anomaly Power build that takes advantage of a synergy between the new Flame Leper Set and the Overseer branch of the Technomancer’s Pax Tree. This allows the build to make frequent use of skills, while still remaining effective with weapons as well.

Passive Point Allocations

With the addition of Outriders: Worldslayer’s content, we now have three set of passive points to allocate and maximize our build. We’ll be going over the Class Skill Tree, the Pax Skill Tree, and Ascension Passives in this section and talking about the powerful combinations at play to really make this build shine.

Class Skill Tree

This Skill Tree focuses on the Tech Shaman section. This offers benefits to our main skills, Blighted Rounds and Cold Snap as well as other bonuses. We’ll quickly cover the Notable Passives on the tree below.

If you would like more information on these passives or more information on the Technomancer in general, check out our Technomancer Class Guide.

Outriders Worldslayer Technomancer Build Guide: Blighted Charge - the Skil Tree

The Minor passives here focus on Anomaly Power, Toxic/Freeze Duration, and Damage to Frozen Enemies.

Wipe Out provides us with bonus damage to low health targets, which helps us take down bosses just a bit faster.

Exposing Frost provides us with the ability to apply Vulnerable while applying Freeze. This allows Coldsnap to increase its own damage and our output from other sources of damage.

Marked for Execution provides us with a stronger Vulnerable status, further boosting our damage.

Doctor of Medicine Provides us with a bit of extra healing power, though it’s taken mainly as a pass-through to reach Overclocked.

Overclocked provides us with 40% Anomaly Power and Weapon Damage every time we use a Gadget Skill. Due to a unique interaction, we’ll be able to frequently use Fixing Wave to refresh this bonus constantly.

Pax Skill Tree

Added with the Worldslayer Expansion, the Pax Skill Tree is home to several powerful passives that can drastically alter how a build may play. While we only get 5 points to spend here, we’ll be getting some powerful effects that drastically increase our damage output. Below is the Pax Skill Tree we’ll be using for the build.

Outriders Worldslayer Technomancer Build Guide: Blighted Charge - Pax Skill Tree
  • The Undying
  • Override
  • Apothecary
  • Hastened Influence
  • Burrowing Charge

The Undying provides us additional Weapon and Skill Leech as our health gets low. In combination with Override, this gives us a boost to Anomaly Power when our health gets low.

Override provides us with additional Anomaly Power, increasing it by an amount equal to our Skill Leech. This bonus can easily provide us with 25% or more Anomaly Power, with very little investment.

Apothecary provides us with some additional sustain, healing us every 5 second for 2% of the damage dealt between each pulse.

Hastened Influence is the Pax Node that pulls this build together, giving us insanely short cooldowns for our other skills. This is due to its unique interaction with the Flame Leper Set, which allows us to constantly reapply both Toxic and Blightfire after the changes in Update 1.23.

Burrowing Charge provides us with a huge burst of damage, that helps us take out elites and bosses much faster than we otherwise could.

Ascension Passives

Ascension Passives are also a new Addition with Worldslayer, adding an additional way to increase your stats and refine your build. As you’d expect, we’ll be prioritizing bonuses that help our build as a priority, though you can eventually max out all bonuses.

Outriders Worldslayer Technomancer Build Guide: Blighted Charge - Ascension Passives

Below is a list of our five main stat priorities, and the order we should get them.

  • Anomaly Damage
  • Status Power
  • Resistance Piercing
  • Anomaly Power
  • Skill Leech

Anomaly Damage gives us the best early increase in damage, acting as a multiplier to all damage dealt by skills, which includes our Blighted Rounds.

Status Power is helpful for scaling the Damage of Blightfire, as well as making Freeze and Vulnerable last longer.

Resistance Piercing will act like another damage multiplier by letting us ignore a portion of our enemy’s Resistance.

Anomaly Power we pick up a bit later after we already get our Anomaly Power stacked up, so that way it has a greater overall effect by giving us more Anomaly Power.

Skill Leech we take for the same reason as Anomaly Power. However, its lower value makes it a much lower priority, but still better than going for Damage vs Elites this early.

Skills and Mods

Blighted Rounds

Blighted Rounds allow us to quickly stack Toxic and apply Blightfire via the Flame Leper Set bonus. Each Shot applies Toxic, then Blightfire which consumes the Toxic and allows it to be re-applied. This Interaction will allow us to quickly trigger Hastened Influence over and over, giving us really short cooldowns for our other skills. We’ll be using the mods below to gain addition benefits while Blighted Rounds is active.

  • Alchemical Mastery
  • To The Bone

Alchemical Mastery grants us bonus Anomaly power based on our Status Power while Blighted Rounds is active. Since we’ll be stacking up Status Power, this is a nice boost in overall damage.

Alchemical Mastery is a Tier 3 Mod found on the Veil of the Flame Leper Legendary Helmet. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Helmets, but will appear more often on Legendary Helmets.

To The Bone grants us a similar bonus as Alchemical Mastery, but increases our Anomaly Damage by 15% while Blighted Rounds is active. This not only increases the damage our Blighted Rounds do, but Cold Snap and Burrowing Charge as well.

To The Bone is a Tier 3 Mod found on the Plague Sower’s Coat Legendary Upper Armor. It may also appear on Upper Armor as an Apocalyptic Mod, but will appear more often on Legendary Upper Armor.

Fixing Wave

Fixing Wave in combination with the interaction mentioned above that we trigger with Blighted Rounds and the Quartermaster mod allows us to maintain Blighted Rounds indefinitely. In addition, we’ll be constantly healing ourselves, making us not totally reliant on sheer damage output and Leech to survive. We’ll be using the following mods to make this work:

  • Quartermaster
  • Bad Medicine

Quartermaster allows us to fully replenish our magazine when using Fixing Wave. Since this does not count as reloading, it prevents Blighted Rounds from deactivating. Since we’ll be using this fairly often, we’ll never have any issue with ammo management.

Quartermaster is a Tier 3 Mod found on the Torrential Downpour’s Footgear Legendary Boots. It may also appear on armor as an Apocalytic Mod, but will appear more often on Legendary Armor.

Bad Medicine is an optional mod, but works well with this combination as well, to provide extra damage to enemies near us when Fixing Wave is activated. While it won’t amount to a whole lot, it can certainly add up in boss encounters.

Bad Medicine is a Tier 3 Mod found on the Boots of the Flame Leper Legendary Boots. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on armor, but will appear more often on Legendary armor.

Blighted Turret Cold Snap

Cold Snap is our main source of area clearing, as we’ll be able to use it frequently, allowing it to deal high damage. We’ll be achieving this using the mod listed below.

  • Painful Chill
  • Ice Ice Baby

Painful Chill allows Cold Snap to deal damage instantly, though not as much. It can be a nice option for consistent damage, as it will always deal damage against bosses that quickly thaw out.

Ice Ice Baby is the stronger source of area clearing, which is why we use this mod. While it won’t do damage on the initial cast, the next time it’s cast, anything that remains frozen will take very high damage, which often clears most weak enemies out exceptionally quickly.

Pain Launcher

This is an alternative skill choice, which you could use in place of Cold Snap. While it won’t cover as wide of an area or provide the same crowd control, it can however pump out a ton of damage against bosses, even without mods.

Through the use of an alternative skill tree that goes deeper into the Demolisher branch, you could pick up some fairly nice passives that allow this to deal more damage than it would with the featured Skill Tree.

Below are some mods you could use to make use of this skill.

  • Advanced Rockets
  • Cannonade
  • Freezing Barrage

Advanced Rockets is a pretty solid boost of damage, increasing the damage of each rocket by a fair bit. Since it is a flat damage bonus, it may not be the absolute best to use, but will typically provide a fairly large increase.

Cannonade is another mod to boost the damage, this time by launching additional rockets instead of increasing their damage. It will provide a pretty sizeable boost in damage overall, and makes for a really solid mod.

Cannonade is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on the Grim Inventor’s Coat Legendary Upper Armor. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Upper Armor, but will appear more often on Legendary Upper Armor.

Freeze Barrage allows Pain Launcher to Freeze the enemies it hits, allowing it to work well with the featured Skill Tree. This makes it easier to swap in, if you choose to use it that way, and maybe a more consistent option for freezing bosses.

Additional Armor Mods

There is a handful of additional Armor we can make use of that we should always be on the lookout for. Ideally, these would appear as Apocalyptic Mods, but if any from the lists above take their place, that will work just as well. Here are a few to keep in mind as you look over your gear drops:

  • Arms and Anomaly
  • Anomaly Echo
  • Unstoppable Force
  • No Resistance Against the Fortified
  • Captain Hunter
  • “Status Boosters”

Arms and Anomaly is a great choice of extra Armor Mod. This gives us a high boost of Anomaly Power. This effect scale with Item Level, so make sure it’s on your highest level piece when it can be.

Arms and Anomaly is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on Ronin’s Amigasa Legendary Helmet. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Gloves but is more likely to appear on Legendary Gloves.

Outriders_-_Anomaly_Echo_Mod

Anomaly Echo is another solid Anomaly Power Bonus that we can make use of. Since we’ll be frequently using Fixing Wave, this will be easy to maintain and provide a solid boost.

Anomaly Echo is a Tier 3 Mod found on the Anomaly’s Visage Legendary Helmet and Torrential Downpour’s Glove Legendary Gloves. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Helmets, but will appear more often on Legendary Helmets.

Unstoppable Force is a solid boost of Anomaly Power we can get from mods. This mod will convert half of our Resistance Piercing to Anomaly Power. While our current Passive Tree doesn’t grab as much as we could, we still get a solid bonus from it.

Unstoppable Force is a Tier 3 Mod that appear on the Pyromancer’s Gloves of the Reforged Legendary Gloves. It May also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Boots, but will appear more often on Legendary Boots.

No Resistance Against the Fortified is another mod we could use to scale the bonus from Unstoppable Force via Armor Piercing found on Weapons. This was nerfed in Update 1.23 to only convert 65% of Armor Piercing, which means the average weapon alone will grant roughly an additional 20% Resistance Piercing and 10% Anomaly Power after conversions.

Captain Hunter is a mod that grants us a multiplier to our damage when damaging Elites. This gives us extra damage for the targets we need it for the most.

Captain Hunter is a Tier 3 Mod found on the Gauntlets of the Cannonball Legendary Gloves. It may also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Upper Armor, but will appear more often on Legendary Upper Armors.

“Status Boosters” are the mods like Freezing Boost that increase our damage against enemies afflicted with various Status Effects. These are powerful, multiplicative bonuses, so don’t be fooled by their low values. In our case, we’ll be looking to use Euthanizer, Virulent Compound, Radical Therapy, Shatter, and Freezing Boost.

Virulent Compound is one we’ll always have, as it’s on the Flame Leper Lower Armor. The other will either have to be crafted on, or roll as an Apocalyptic Mods. Euthanizer can appear on Helmets, Radical Therapy can appear on Gloves, while Freezing Boost and Shatter can appear on lower Armor as Apocalpytic Mods.

Weapon Mods

There’s a handful of Good weapon mods we can be on the lookout for, including many variations of Damage effects, or even effects that boost our Anomaly Damage, Anomaly Power. We won’t cover them all here, just a few of the highly recommended ones. Below is a quick list of Weapon mods you can look out for:

  • Mage’s Rage
  • Fortress
  • Omen
  • First Things First

Mage’s Rage allows us to gain additional Anomaly Power for landing Critical Shots. Since we’ll be doing this anyways to trigger mods like Arms and Anomaly, as well as get the most out of Blighted Rounds, this is an easy choice of mod. Just remember, that swapping weapons will make this bonus fall off and require you to restack it.

Mage’s Rage is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on the Final Penance Legendary Double Gun. It can also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Weapons but has a higher chance of Appearing on Legendary Weapons.

Fortress is a mod that’s essential to most builds as its bonuses are unrivaled by most mods. Offering both strong defensive and offensive bonuses, it’s a highly recommended mod in most setups. It’s only disadvantage coming from if you need to swap weapons frequently, as this will disable its buff.

Fortress is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on the Deathshield Legendary Automatic Shotgun. It can also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Weapons but has a higher chance of Appearing on Legendary Weapons.

Omen is another powerful mod we can fit into the build. Not only does this increase our damage directly, but it can also allow us to make use of the Tainted Blood and Bloody Boost Status Booster mods as well for more damage increases.

Omen is a Tier 3 Mod that appears on the Mythos Legendary Light Machinegun. It can also appear as an Apocalyptic Mod on Weapons but has a higher chance of Appearing on Legendary Weapons.

First Things First has found its niche as a gimmicky mod in ability-focused builds. For it to provide value it absolutely needs to combined with No Resistance Against the Fortified and Unstoppable Force. It does however make a nice budget option in addition to the mods above if you have those mods.

This mod’s effect was reduced to 30% in the July 29 update, but still remains a decent option if desired. Though to benefit from it as well as Mage’s Rage and Fortress, they would all need to be on the same gun, which can limit your options.

Gear and Stats

Now that we’ve talked about the Skills and Mods you’ll want to look out for, let’s talk about the gear you’ll want to find them on.

Pre-Legendary Gear

Prior to getting Legendary gear, we’ll of course be looking to find Epic gear with great mods. We’ll be looking for Epic gear with the following four Stats, in order of priority:

  • Anomaly Power
  • Status Power
  • Cooldown Reduction
  • Skill Leech

Anomaly Power from our gear will be the main source of most of our Anomaly Power, even though we will get some from the Average item level bonus as well. Ideally, we’ll have this on every piece of Armor we can get.

Status Power is one of our next damage increases, as a fair bit of our damage will come from Status effects like Toxic and Blightfire. This also extends the duration of both Freeze and Vulnerable.

Cooldown Reduction is the next stat we prioritize but has a limit of 55%. We’ll want to get as close to this limit as possible without going over to maximize our benefit.

Skill Leech will take the place of Cooldown Reduction on our gear after we hit that Cooldown Reduction cap. Typically this will be on at least two pieces of gear as a result.

Post-Legendary Gear

Veil of the Flame Leper

The Veil of the Flame Leper is the Helmet for the Flame Leper Set. It comes with our ideal stat of Anomaly Power, Status Power, and Cooldown Reduction.

It conveniently comes with Alchemical Mastery on it, as well as a mod we don’t need that we can replace. This makes it fairly flexible, and I typically prefer to replace the second mod with To The Bone.

A Perfect Helmet would be the Veil of the Flame Leper with Euthanizer as an Apocalyptic Mod.

Robes of the Flame Leper

The Robes of the Flame Leper is the Upper Armor of the Flame Leper Set. This piece comes with our ideal stats of Anomaly Power, Status Power, and Cooldown Reduction.

However, unlike the other pieces of the set, this doesn’t really offer us any practical mods for the build. If you’re using Bad Medicine, Party Starter can be a niche but useful mod.

The Perfect Upper Armor would be an Epic with any combination of stat mentioned previously. We’d be looking to get Ice Ice Baby as a natural mod, and No Resistance Against the Fortified and Captain Hunter to roll as the Apoc Mod, as the other could be crafted on after. It is possible to roll all three mods at the same time, the but chances of that are very low.

Waistcloth of the Flame Leper

The Waistcloth of the Flame Leper is the Lower Armor of the Flame Leper Set. This piece comes with our ideal stats of Anomaly Power, Status Power, and Cooldown Reduction.

The Waistcloth of the Flame Leper conveniently come with Virulent Compound as a mod. The other slot also has a mod we don’t really need, which we can replace with other mods. I typically replace the other mod with either Shatter or Euthanizer for extra damage.

A Perfect Lower Armor would be the Waistcloth of Flame Leper with Shatter as an Apocalyptic Mod.

Epic Boots and Gloves

Our Epic Boots and Gloves are going to follow the same use as the Pre-Legendary Gear Above. This mean we’ll be looking for the following:

  • Anomaly Power
  • Status Power
  • Cooldown Reduction / Skill Leech
  • Mods listed above that are not already in the build
  • As close to “perfect” as possible (See below)

For starters, before we get into talking about perfect gear, we want them to have the right stats. That helps boost the power of our build Significantly before any Mod RNG is involved. However, mods are another ordeal.

For Perfect Gloves, we’d be looking to get Radical Therapy or Aura of Force as a mod roll, as the only class mod that appears on gloves that is useful to us would be Long Winter, which doesn’t do too much for the overall build. Then We’d want Arms and Anomaly as the Apocalyptic Mod, so we don’t have to craft it anywhere else.

For Perfect Boots, we’ll be looking to roll Toxic Piercer here with Unstoppable Force as an Apocalyptic mod. We could also work with Critical Analysis as a Class mod as well, but it’s not as optimal, since our damage with our weapon isn’t super high to begin with.

Skill Rotation

This build doesn’t have a super complicated rotation at all, as you’re mostly using skills as they come off cooldown.

  • Blighted Rounds
  • Stack Mage’s Rage/Fortress
  • Blighted Turret Cold Snap
  • Fixing Wave
  • Repeat

We activate Blighted Rounds right away to gain the effects of Alchemical Mastery and To The Bone. This gives us extra stats to work with and deal more damage with. Then we stack up Mage’s Rage and any other applicable buffs by landing some critical shots.

After that, it’s just maintaining the buffs we stacked up while using Fixing Wave and Cold Snap off Cooldown. After the initial use, you’ll want to try to use Cold Snap after Fixing Wave as much as possible, so Cold Snap can shorten Fixing Wave’s cooldown.

Video Gameplay

The video gameplay will be ready shortly. Please check back a little later.
