This guide will show you how and where to obtain all new weapons available in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.6 – locations and stats!
Patch 1.6 for Cyberpunk 2077 was released on September 6th, 2022. It added fourteen new weapons to the game – seven guns and seven melee weapons. Most of them are available for purchase from vendors or found in the world.
The normal weapons that you can purchase from vendors are often available in several shops. I am listing at least one location for each one. You can get the regular weapons as loot drops from NPCs as well.
There are four iconic weapons – two guns and two knives. The guns are available as loot while the knives can be purchased from melee weapons vendors in Night City. I have all locations below.
Kappa – Smart Pistol
Kappa is a smart pistol and is available for purchase from the guns vendor in Arroyo, Santo Domingo.
You can also find it in other shops. Another location I have found is the Rifles and Pistols shop in Japantown, Westbrook.
The gun shop is at the back of the market area.
Senkoh LX – Tech Submachine Gun
Senkoh LX is available as loot in the 6th Street Warehouse in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. You can pick it up during the gig Nasty Hangover.
This mission was added to the game in an earlier patch, but is playable after Update 1.6.
You can also purchase this weapon from the Jinguji shop in Downtown, City Center. The store, like any other store, has a rotating inventory that shows a different selection of the total amount of items in its pool to the customers. Jinguji is a clothing store, but this is a special weapon bearing their brand, so it makes sense that they should offer it too
For the record, you do not have to complete the secret mission Bullets, featuring the girl from the Cyberpunk 2077 teaser trailer for this weapon to be part of the store’s inventory.
Thanks to leggy for their comment below that reminded me to include this location.
Hypercritical – Iconic Precision Rifle
Hypercritical is one of the cool new weapons added with 1.6. It’s obtainable as loot during the new gig Concrete Cage Trap in Watson, Kabuki.
To get there, you can use Sutter St. or Kenedy North fast travel terminals. You will find the item in the bathroom, next to Tiny Mike.
The place is not exclusively available only during the mission, I believe. You should be able to get in there at any time after that if you forget to pick it up during the gig.
Being an iconic weapon, Hypercritical’s unique perk is as follows: Bullets detonate knocking down your enemy. The final bullet always deals critical damage.
VST-37 Pozhar – Power Shotgun
The VST-37 Power Shotgun you can purchase from the vendor in Japantown, Westbrook.
The nearest fast travel is Skylines & Salinas. You are looking for the Rifles and Pistols shop across the street from the fast travel.
MA70 HB – Power Light Machine Gun
The MA70 HB power light machine gun (LMG) is also available for purchase from the same vendor where you can get the VST-37 power shotgun – the Rifles and Pistols shop in Japantown, Westbrook.
Kyubi – Power Assault Rifle
Kyubi can be purchased from several vendors. One location I can share is the Rifles and Pistols shop in Japantown, Westbrook.
You could also get it from the vendor in Wellsprings, Heywood. Halsey and MLK fast travel is just next to the shop. The Rifles and Pistols shop is on the 4th floor, take an elevator.
New Melee Weapons Vendor Location
You can find all of the regular versions of the melee weapons added with Update 1.6 at several vendors.
One of the easiest and accessible early in the game is Coach Fred in Megabuilding H10 in Watson’s Little China, where V’s first apartment is located.
Here you can purchase the following new melee weapons, added with patch 1.6:
- Neurotoxin – Knife
- Punknife – Knife
- Claw – Axe
- Razor – Machete
- Cut-O-Matic – Chainsword
Blue Fang – Iconic Knife
Blue Fang is an iconic knife. It can be purchased from the weapons vendor in the Badlands. I can’t say why, but it’s not always there.
The vendor is sitting at the back of her RV near the canyon.
For me it was on one of my saved playthroughs, but not for the other two I tried. I gave it a fair bit of time skip, but this weapon never showed up at any of the melee weapon vendors. It may be a bug or related to a story element in the game.
The Blue Fang variant of the knife has a unique iconic perk. It stuns your enemy when you hit them. If you get a headshot, the stun happens almost immediately (1-second delay), while if you hit any other body part, the stun effect activates in 3 seconds. If you throw the knife at an enemy NPC out of combat, they get stunned right away with no delay.
If you don’t see this knife on the described location, please read the segment about that issue at the end of the guide.
Headhunter – Iconic Knife
The iconic Headhunter knife should also be available at multiple vendors. I got it from the melee weapons vendor near the West Wind Apartments fast-travel. This is in the western section of Pacifica, not far from the Grand Imperial Mall, in West Wind Estate area.
The weapon has a unique gameplay perk. It marks an enemy on hit. Attacking the opponent’s head with any weapon deals 250% damage and returns the knife. This also clears the mark.
If you don’t see this knife on the described location, please read the segment below.
Guts – Iconic Power Shotgun from Edgerunners
Guts is an Iconic Power Shotgun and a direct reference to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners TV Series from Netflix. This weapon lies in the center of Night City, in Corpo Plaza.
The closest and most convenient fast travel is Arasaka Tower.
At the top of the plaza, where the glass floor is, walk around the green fields until you spot the orange icon of the iconic weapon thrown into the bushes. Here is the exact location on the map.
There are absolutely no requirements to get it. It’s free loot, hidden in the bush behind the three monks.
Guts has a unique perk, as all Iconic Weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 do: Shoot faster, deal more damage, but with lower accuracy.
I would like to thank my friend GeoFix for sharing with me the location of this weapon.
It’s a bit of a stretch, but Guts is a good candidate to use in your David Martinez character build in Cyberpunk 2077. Luckily for you, I have a very detailed guide to show you how to create the most authentic replica of David in the game – everything from lifepath, through appearance to his gear.
If you want to complete your Edgerunner style, check out my guide on how to get David’s Yellow Jacket in Cyberpunk 2077. The jacket belongs to David Martinez, the main protagonist of the Edgerunners TV Show on Netflix and is locked behind a short and interesting side job with yet another easter egg for the TV Series.
What to do if a vendor doesn’t offer the weapon I have listed
If you visit a vendor I have listed to be selling a certain weapon, but the NPC does not offer it at this moment, the first think I recommend you to try is wait. Play the game or Skip time a few times and check to see if the shop has received new stock.
This is also valid for Crafting Schematics. You can get these items in the form of a crafting schematic so you can make the weapons yourself if you have developed your skills in the Crafting skill tree.
You should skip time and allow vendors to restock their supplies for another reason – they may have a higher rarity item on offer next time you visit their shop.
I’ve heard a few people claim that they get the two new iconic melee weapons on characters and saves on which they had not visited the two melee weapons vendors before. And when they do that after 1.6, they get the knives listed and available for purchase.
I decided to test it myself. Loaded a character of my own that was again level 50/50 but had not visited these vendors before 1.6 was released. Both weapons were there first time I checked both vendors.
Sounds like a bug to me. Looking for a confirmation from CD Projekt Red and a fix soon. We, who are obsessed with collecting everything in the game, need these two knives in our collections, even if we will never use them! :)))
Update: This was indeed a bug. CD Projekt Red fixed this in Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.61, released on November 8, 2022. The Iconic Melee Weapons should now be available at the Melee Weapons Vendors in Night City.
These are all Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.6 New Weapons Locations. You can find more weapons and gear in my massive Legendary and Iconic Gear Locations Guide for Cyberpunk 2077.
If you find other locations for the Iconic Knives, please share them with everyone else in the comments below. I will confirm the locations and add them to the guide.
