She-Hulk episode 6 sees Titania fall further from grace while conspiracists are targeting Jennifer Walters. Mr. Immortal seeks a divorce.
She-Hulk episode 6 distincts itself from the previous episodes that it doesn’t involve a lot of physical action or legal action, like episode 5. In episode 6 we see Jennifer finally have some rest and recreation by attending a wedding and we get to meet her friends.
She-Hulk is attending a wedding
Jennifer opens a box with a lot of cards. One of her friends, Lulu, is going to marry and has invited Jennifer to attend. The card is filled with a lot of glitters and the box contains a lot of wedding-related items. The glitters all fall on the floor of Jennifer’s house, much to her annoyance.
She starts packing and Nicki starts asking her about the new attire Luke has made her. She reveals a beautiful dress that will grow and shrink with Jennifer depending on who she is at the moment.
There was another outfit in the box but Jenn was quick to say that she would never wear it because she is a lawyer. Not a superhero.
She-Hulk isn’t welcome, Jennifer is…reluctantly
The invitation seemed more like a formality. It’s one of those invites you sent out but hope that the person isn’t coming. So more out of politeness than anything.
Jennifer arrives at the wedding as She-Hulk and receives a lot of praise. But as soon as the bride steps in, she is asked to go to the wedding as Jennifer. The bride explains that it is her wedding and that she should be in the spotlight.
She-Hulk is too much of a distraction and would steal Lulu’s thunder. Jennifer reluctantly agrees with Lulu and stays in her human shape.
The wedding rehearsal is in full swing when we see Titania appear out of the blue. Apparently, Titania has a date with a friend of the lovely couple that is getting married.
Jennifer suspects foul play and tells Lulu. But Lulu is starstruck by Titania’s wedding attendance. Don’t forget that Titania is a famous influencer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Lulu tries to calm Jennifer down and succeeds, especially since Titania is denying everything.
Jennifer’s friends aren’t very friendly
Jennifer’s friends, the ones who gave me hope that Jennifer was pretty normal before she turned into She-Hulk, are actually not very friendly at all. Jennifer is soon used for all kinds of errands. For instance, the guys spilled drinks on their shirts and Jennifer is suddenly on ironing duty. And more of these things occur.
So when Jennifer is done with the ironing, she asserts that she should just enjoy the wedding days and starts drinking. She also starts flirting. While she is tipsy she starts talking about her being the She-Hulk. The guy is pretty impressed and hopes she turns into her. But Jennifer keeps her word to Lulu and sticks to being Jenn.
Up until then, there is a lot of dancing and drinking. There is so much drinking and Jennifer is still Jennifer. So sooner or later that alcohol has to go out. And Jennifer runs outside to the closest bucket she can find. Well, she can’t find one but does find a planter she can vomit in.
Titania strikes and hits
Titania shows her true colors and slaps a drunk Jennifer around. Taunting her to become the sensational She-Hulk. Jennifer is too drunk to remember how to turn into the She-Hulk.
But after she gets a little angry we see She-Hulk appear. The fight that follows can best be described as Titania losing it and She-Hulk not even warmed up.
Titania is slapped around a lot. On the floor, flying back before falling flat on her face and breaking her teeth. And worse of all, she is being filmed. That’s going to cost her a few followers. Titania runs off but we haven’t seen the last of her.
Mr. Immortal makes his entrance
Nicki and Mallory are still working while Jenn is away for the wedding. Their latest client is none other than Craig Hollis, a.k.a. Mr. Immortal created by the legendary John Byrne. The man who essentially recreated the She-Hulk.
Mr. Immortal’s power is that he can heal any wound anywhere at any time. And he’s involved in a nasty divorce with 18 people. Apparently Mr. Immortal has staged his death several times over to get away from his spouses.
A settlement is quickly reached with Nicki doing all the talking. One gets gold, the other gets cash and the best one is 20 seconds of eye contact with one of his ex-wives.
But what’s worse is that one of the wives mentions a website Intelligencia. She describes how she found Mr. Immortal in a video getting run over by four cars and presumed dead. Until she sees him get up unscathed.
Nicki and Mallory decide to find out what this Intelligencia website exactly is. And it turns out that Marvel has its’ own conspiracy theory forums. The people on the website have issued death threats to She-Hulk / Jennifer. They photoshopped target markers on her face.
Apparently, there are a lot of people who want her dead because Nicki and Mallory seem to be scrolling forever. Almost infinite.
Titania is on her way to becoming the archnemesis
While last week’s episode gave us hope that Daredevil would make an appearance, we instead saw Titania again. It was interesting to see how Jennifer can forget how to turn into She-Hulk.
So we can say that it has been established that Jennifer needs to be fully aware to turn into She-Hulk and maybe maintain that concentration to stay in She-Hulk form.
Another great find of the makers of the show is the cameo (?) of Mr. Immortal as part of the secondary plotline. Mr. Immortal actually introduces the healing factor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We haven’t seen it yet.
All we have heard is that some heroes heal a little faster than humans but we never ever saw it in full effect. Which is why the addition of Mr. Immortal is so important.
There are a lot of Marvel heroes who walk around with an accelerated healing factor and we will see more of them, without a doubt, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Titania is quickly falling from grace. Her appearances make her look weak. First, she gets ousted with one punch when she attacks the court in the first episode. Then her little scheme of trademarking She-Hulk falls apart very quickly.
Then we have her at the wedding where she picks a fight and loses big time! And on top of that videos of her defeat will no doubt go viral. This is another blow to Titania whose main income is being popular. The more popular she is, the more money she makes.
With her encounters with the She-Hulk making her look like a loser, the endorsement contracts will be broken. But then there is Intelligencia, the conspiracy forums, and I am pretty sure that the people on the conspiracy forums will turn Titania into their champion. Hoping that she will take down Jennifer / She-Hulk. In short: Titania is an archnemesis in the making.
That final scene in the laboratory, they are the ones who hired the streetgang that Jennifer took out easily. I guess they want to have Jennifer’s blood to see if they can recreate the gamma radiation to create their own Hulks. Who knows, Titania may take a cocktail of Gamma radiation.
