This guide will explain all outcomes from your visit to the Ripperdoc Clinic on Jig-Jig Street. What you should and should not do (and why) during your conversation with Fingers, part of “The Space In Between” main job in Cyberpunk 2077!
This guide is up-to-date for Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3
Who is Fingers in Cyberpunk 2077
Finn Gerstatt, also known as Fingers, is a non-playable character (NPC) in Cyberpunk 2077. He is a Ripperdoc. His clinic is located on one of the back alleys of Jig-Jig Street, in Japantown, Westbrook.
You first encounter Fingers during the main job “The Space In Between”. V and Judy Alvarez (who is a romanceable character) are searching for information about Evelyn Parker, one of the dolls working at The Clouds club.
How to find Fingers Ripperdoc in Night City
In a previous main job called Automatic Love, you visit The Clouds club. There you learn that the dolls’ manager Woodman has taken Evelyn to Fingers so that he can fix her malfunctioning cyberware.
Fingers’ Ripperdoc clinic is located here on the map:
You meet Fingers at his clinic during “The Space In Between” main job. He is quite a striking character. His one-of-a-kind visual appearance and mouthy tone are hard to forget once you talk to him.
Getting to Jig-Jig Street
Jig-Jig street is one of the most popular markets in Night City. There you can find pretty much everything, from food to weird Braindances, side jobs for V, strange conversations with NPCs, and more and more.
As you get to Jig-Jig street, you will have a brief conversation with Johnny. He will, of course, have something to say about the reputation of the vendors and offerings you are about to find here.
There is a key moment where you have to carefully select your responses and measure your actions during The Space In Between mission. I will specifically point out when and where once we get to it. Until then, there are a few more or less meaningless conversations you can have with some side characters.
They will not impact the story but are great immersion and role-playing opportunities. Nor will the blue lines. Blue lines are filler info and help build immersion, but will not make or break your game and will not change the outcome of a conversation.
As you approach the Ripperdoc clinic, three Tyger Claw gang members will attempt to stop you at the entrance. It doesn’t matter much which approach you want to take with them.
There are ways you can avoid confrontation. Choosing the Streetkid dialogue option (exclusively available to this Lifepath), for example, will allow you to pass without having to beat them up.
If you prefer to, you can beat them up. These NPCs are designed to be beatable at the level you will be when you do this mission (around 10), so nothing to worry about.
Once you have dealt with the gang members, enter the building. Fingers’ clinic is on the second floor. Judy will be already there, waiting for you.
As you approach Judy and the door, another customer will start complaining and tell you to not cut in front of him.
Should you sit and talk to the joytoys
The main task now is for you to find a way into Fingers’ office. If you talk to the joytoys, you can role-play your way in and cut in front of them or you can simply sit and wait your turn.
You can also break in, which requires Body 7. This will bring a few new introductory dialogue options, but the mission will not change much.
You can interact with the screen on the wall to the right of the door. It contains interesting bits about Fingers’ clinic. Kind of like an ad or a website he made himself.
You have the option to sit and patiently wait for your turn or you can have a conversation with the other waiting customers and persuade them to let you in first by pretending that Judy is sick and in desperate need of help.
It doesn’t matter much which of these you pick. Up to you and how you imagine your V behaving in your own game.
I recorded a play session for this guide during my playthrough where I was using my David Martinez Build, so I had plenty of Body and Cool attribute stats already. If you don’t, you still have other options as it’s visible from the image above.
Now, you can enter Fingers’ office and have a conversation with him. This is where things get real. More on that below!
Conversation with Fingers: what to do and why
The first time you encounter Fingers, he is just an NPC that will progress your story in Cyberpunk 2077. You do have a chance to shop at his clinic later on.
Fingers is one of the many Ripperdocs in Night City. He does, however, have a unique inventory of cyberware.
The outcome of your first conversation when you visit him during The Space In Between will determine if Fingers will be willing to offer you his services in the future.
The first few dialogue options are important if you care about role-playing, but in terms of story progression and getting Fingers as a Ripperdoc, you are free to pick anything.
You can start off politely or directly ask about Evelyn. Whichever you chose, will not affect the outcome. Fingers will invite you with “Step into my office, please”.
You can walk around the room and pick up the iconic one-handed club Cottonmouth. It is the main focus of our Pimp build guide.

The important choices leading to Fingers being available or not later on as a regular Ripperdoc, start with this one: Should you Punch him?
Should you Punch Fingers
The option to punch Fingers in your first conversation with him comes rather early on. This is a clever design choice by CD Projekt Red. Really clever.
While I personally believe that he is really doing the best he could with the resources he has available and at his disposal, his way of talking can easily and quickly irritate you and make you want to punch him.
If you Punch Fingers, you will lock yourself from his services as a Ripperdoc.
At this point, you can make a new save and explore what each of the conversation choices from this moment leads to. Or you can read about them below.
If you chose “[Punch] Better start remembering, or else…” line, V will take fingers by his ear and throw him to the floor. Fingers will immediately start telling you exactly what you want to know, but will not be willing to serve you as a Ripperdoc later. You will never get access to his unique inventory.
This is the shortest approach to just progress your mission. Judy will get out and wait for you in the hallway. This will also complete The Space In Between mission and start up the next one – Disasterpiece.
You will leave Fingers on the floor. He will not be friendly to you anymore and will never unlock his inventory for you.
If you choose any of the “[Sit]” options, you will still get the information you require of him, but you can avoid being violent to Fingers and get him as a Ripperdoc later on.
At the end of the conversation, if you have chosen not to insult physically Fingers, Judy will do that for you. After she slaps him, you get these choices:
Obviously, if you choose “[Punch] I’m a hair away from putting you down.” now, you will get to the same outcome as with the first scenario I described earlier.
Pick “Calm down, Judy.” if you want to get the shorter approach to getting Fingers as a Riperdoc later on. You will upset Judy, but this will not affect your relationship with her and your chances to romance her later on.
If you side with Judy, you still have a chance to get Fingers to like you, but you will have to go through a few more jumps in this conversation.
Choose “[Stand] She’s just upset” to calm him down. The other two options will lock you out of Fingers as a Ripperdoc.
Because after Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 all ripperdocs offer everything to you, it doesn’t matter which one you will visit for your upgrades. This means you should not base your choice of Punching Fingers or not on the fact that you will lock yourself from accessing his inventory as it is identical to the rest of the ripperdocs in the game.
How can you tell if Fingers will be available as a Ripperdoc later
The one clear sign that Fingers likes you and will be willing to be your Ripperdoc later on in the game, is the final line in your conversation with him.
If you have been nice to him, did not punch him and did not insult him, he will say in the end “Yes, well, you are a far more reasonable beast. Handsomer too.” with a seducing tone in his voice.
Before you even think about asking…, Hell no, Fingers is not a romanceable character. But there are many more short-term romantic relations you can have in Cyberpunk 2077 if that’s what you are looking for.
What can you buy from Fingers Ripperdoc
After you complete The Space In Between main job, give it some time. Play other content and progress further through the game’s story. Explore Night City for a bit.
Fingers usually resumes his regular work as a Ripperdoc around the time you finish Disasterpiece, during which you find Evelyn. I can’t tell if and why these two might be related, but it seems to always happen around that time.
If you have been kind to Fingers and have not insulted him verbally or physically during your first conversation with him, he will soon become a regular Ripperdoc. This is important because his inventory is quite unique.
After the 2.0 update, every Ripperdoc in the game is now the same. They all offer everything based on your current cyberware tier. It does not matter which Ripperdoc you will visit, you can purchase and upgrade from any of them, with a small exception of the one in Dogtown that has a few iconic implants. There isn’t a huge reason to go to one over another.
Please note that the vendors’ offerings may change with future patches to Cyberpunk 2077. For the latest changes, you can always refer to the Cyberpunk 2077 Patch Notes section here on VULKK.com.
