New World Season 1 Full Rewards List and Overview

RubyRose by RubyRose|

This guide gives you a deeper look at all of the various types of rewards you can earn from the Free and Premium tracks of the Season 1 “Fellowship and Fire”, part of the new Season Pass system in New World!

New World is adopting the seasonal model, which also comes with the usual addition of a Battlepass-like system. We’ll break down the Season Pass and all the details you need about it.

What is a Season Pass

A Season Pass is New World’s version of a Battle Pass. Each Season will last three months, or right around 90 days, equivalent to a real-life season. During this time frame, you’ll be able to play and earn progress on your Season Pass. Season 1 started with the release of New World Update 1.9 on April 4th, 2023.

Each Season Pass has 100 total levels to earn and a handful of ways to go about earning them. Each level rewards a variety of cosmetic and gameplay items, from Seasonal Cosmetic Armor to even Legendary Gear (Gearscore 600 Items).

If you want additional information on New World’s Season Pass and how it works, check out our New World Season Pass Guide. This covers the system more in-depth and explains the best ways to progress and make use of it.

Season 1 Reward Chest Contents Overview

In the rewards above, there are reward chests that offer various pieces of gear. This section details both their content and any random odds associated with them. Most chests have both a free and premium equivalent and both will be listed together with notable differences.

Armor Chests

Seasons Armor Gift

Rewards two armor pieces based on player level and one random weapon from the Inferno Armor Chest.

These you’ll want to hold on to until Level 60, assuming you’re not already there. Since these scale with level, it’s more beneficial to open them at max level.

The Item rolled from the Inferno Armor Chest will always be at least 590 GS, up to 600 GS. The Armor piece, weight, and Attribute are random, but with equal odds of each roll. This means each Armor Slot has a 20% chance, each weight has a ~33% Chance, and each attribute has a 20% chance to roll.

Inferno Armor Chest

The Inferno Armor chest awards three piece of Armor, one of which will be Legendary (GS600).

Since these items roll in a Fixed GS Range that is above 500, it’s likely they will ignore your current Expertise, making them a strong offering for a fresh level 60.

Items rolled from the Inferno Armor Chest will always be at least 590-595 GS or 600 GS. The Armor piece, weight, and Attribute are random, but with equal odds of each roll. This means each Armor Slot has a 20% chance, each weight has a ~33% Chance, and each attribute has a 20% chance to roll.

As you’d expect of them, 600 GS items come with 3 perks and an open socket. 590-595 GS items will have 2 perks and an open socket instead.

Jewelry Chests

Seasons Jewelry Gift

Grants two pieces of standard jewelry rolled to player level and one random jewelry roll from the Inferno Jewelry Chest.

Like the Armor Chests, you’ll want to hold on to these until Level 60, since the reward scale to level.

The Item rolled from the Inferno Jewelry Chest will always be at least 590-595 GS or 600 GS. The Jewelry piece and Attribute are random, but with equal odds of each roll. This means each Jewelry Type has a ~33% chance, and each attribute has a 20% chance to roll.

Inferno Jewelry Gift

The Inferno Jewelry chest awards three pieces of Jewelry, one of which will be Legendary (GS600).

Since these items roll in a Fixed GS Range that is above 500, it’s likely they will ignore your current Expertise, making them a strong offering for a fresh level 60.

Items rolled from the Inferno Jewelry Chest will always be at least 590-595 GS or 600 GS. The Jewelry piece and Attribute are random, but with equal odds of each roll. This means each Jewelry Type has a ~33% chance, and each attribute has a 20% chance to roll.

As you’d expect of them, 600 GS items come with 3 perks and an open socket. 590-595 GS items will have 2 perks and an open socket instead.

Weapon Chests

Seasons Weapon Gift

Grants two standard weapons rolled to player level and one random weapon roll from the Inferno Weapon Chest.

Much like the other gifts that award gear, hold on to these until level 60 for the maximum possible benefit.

Inferno Weapon Chest

The Inferno Weapon Chest awards three Weapons, one of which will be Legendary (GS600).

Since these items roll in a Fixed GS Range that is above 500, it’s likely they will ignore your current Expertise, making them a strong offering for a fresh level 60.

Items rolled from the Inferno Weapon Chest will always be at least 590-595 GS or 600 GS. The Legendary Item will have equal odds of being any primary attribute group between STR, DEX, and INTFOC with 33% Chance of each. You’ll have a 16.6% chance of rolling any given STR Weapon, 25% chance of any DEX weapon, or 25% of any INTFOC weapon after the attribute is chosen.

The Two Epic weapons that are given will always be from the remaining two Attribute Groups. This means each Inferno weapon Chest will award one STR Weapon, open DEX Weapon, and one INTFOC Weapon.

As you’d expect of them, 600 GS items come with 3 perks and an open socket. 590-595 GS items will have 2 perks and an open socket instead.

Welcome Chests

Seasons Welcome Gift

This chest awards you with 1,000 Umbral Shards, one Gypsum Orb, and one Named Item.

Due to the Named Item being included, it’s best to wait until Level 60 to open this box. The named Item pulls from a wide assortment of weapons, but also include harvesting and crafting gear. Either way you’ll want them to be the highest they can be for maximum benefit.

Inferno Welcome Chest

The Inferno Welcome Chest includes the Soaring Pyre Great Axe Weapon Skin, and one booster each for Season XP, Weapon XP, Territory XP, and Proficiency. Additionally, it includes one Armor, Jewelry and Weapon from the Inferno Core set of gear that roll at 600 GS with 3 perks and an open socket.

Since this includes only items with fixed rolls, this can just be opened anytime you like. You should hold on to the chest at least until you can use the gear, so it occupies less storage space. The Skin and Boosters are awarded separately, so opening the chest is not required, but you will need to claim it.

Champion’s Chests

Season Champion’s Chest

The Season Champion’s Chest includes a Title, Gear Set Slot, one Inferno Weapon, one Inferno Armor Piece and 1,000 Gold.

Details are not given on this gear, though given that it’s on the free track, could be assumed that it will scale to player level as other items on the free track. Thus, it should be saved until level 60 just in case.

Inferno Champion’s Chest

The Inferno Champion’s Chest includes Deluxe Seasonal ‘Cardinal Armor Set’ Skins, Seasonal Housing Item (Tattered Varangian Banner), and a Special Title (Infernal Champion). Additionally, this chest awards one ‘Inferno Core’ Armor piece, a standard legendary weapon, and a standard piece of jewelry all at 600 GS with 3 perks and open socket.

Since no rewards here are level based, open it whenever you desire. If you’re under level 60, you will not be able to use the gear right away but should hold on to it for later. It’s best to hold it as a chest if you cannot use the gear it contains, as the other items are awarded upon claiming the chest instead of opening it.

Combatant Chest

Inferno Combatant’s Chest

Found on both Tracks, the Inferno Combatant’s Chest includes five Powerful Oakflesh Balms, five Powerful Honing Stones, five Powerful Gemstone Dust, and five Powerful Incense.

Sicne these consumables are level restricted, they can just be open and used whenever available. Though they are best saved for Level 60 content.

Crafting Resource Chests

Seasons Crafting Gift

This contains five of each Tier 5 Resource. This includes rare materials like Cinnabar, Tolvium, and others.

These are great to just open as you get them, assuming you have the storage space. There’s a decent amount of materials in this, so you’ll have to be careful you don’t overdo it.

Inferno Crafting Chest

This chest contains three of each Tier 5 Legendary Crafting Material. This includes Runestone, Glittering Ebony, Asmodeum, Phoenix Weave and Runic Leather.

These are useful to just open whenever, and hold on to the mat for crafting as needed.

Dye Chest

Seasons Dye Gift

While not a huge reward by any means, it’s a simple cosmetic reward. It gives a way to get premium dye without having to buy them directly.

This chest is only useful when you reach Level 60. It’s best to keep it as a chest until then, as the contents weigh more than the chest.

Food Chest

Seasons Food Gift

Includes an assortment of a dozen (12) Cooking Ingredients.

Since this is entirely random, it may or may not provide things of use. But will likely contain many of the same items you can find in Provision Crates and Stockpiles.

Is the Premium Season Pass Worth It

The free track offers a fair bit of useful items to those that are both new or returning to the world of Aeturnum. With it being free, it’s hard to argue against it. You’ll still be able to earn a full set of cosmetic armor, but the matching weapons and tool skins are only available in the Premium pass. Additionally, you’ll be able to earn 2,500 Marks of Fortune for free across the full Season Pass.

The biggest benefit of the Free Track is that you still get a number of XP Boosters, which can be exceptionally helpful if you wanted to level new skills or weapons. While you get less than the Premium version of the pass, if used well they can still get you quite far.

For 20,000 Marks of Fortune ($20 USD, or regional equivalent) you’ll be able to get access to the Premium Track for the Season Pass, which in addition to the Weapon and Tool Skins, also has its own additional Seasonal Armor set for completing the pass.

There is also the Head Start Pass option, which while being a bit more expensive at 30,000 marks of Fortune, jumps your progress forward by 20 levels from where you purchase it. If you’re considering Premium and are worried about not having enough time to complete it it can be valuable. Though the Pass itself doesn’t take much time to complete, which can take away from the potential value of the Head Start Pass.

If you’re all about cosmetics, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth if you complete the Premium Season Pass. Especially with the Premium pass returning 7,500 Marks of Fortune over the course of the pass. This means you’re only spending roughly 12,500 Marks of Fortune on the Premium pass overall, should you at least claim the Mark of Fortune rewards.

Premium is also great for those looking to level a fresh character, or have recently started playing. The pass overall gives you a good amount of gear for when you hit level 60, as well as helps you get levels for your weapons and Gathering Life Skills though the provided Boosters, making it an excellent way to catch up to veteran players.

Unless you’re short on time, whether it be from work, family, or other reasons; but you’re still invested in the game enough for a Season Pass that is the one time the Head Start Pass should be considered. If you’re an active player, or especially a hardcore player, then stick with just the Premium.
