Adrian by Adrian|

Star Wars Celebration 2023 has sadly come to an end but the amount of joy that we experienced is unmatched. There are so many exciting news about games, movies, shows, and series! This article is a summary of all announcements from the Star Wars Celebration Weekend from Friday April 7 to Monday April 10 2023!

Ahsoka Teaser Trailer

After many years of appearing in shows like Clone Wars, Rebels, The Mandalorian, and The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka will finally get her own series! Ahsoka’s story will be a direct sequel to Star Wars Rebels. Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, Chopper, and Grand Admiral Thrawn will return for this live-action series.

Ahsoka will release on August 2023. Learn more about the Ahsoka series!

Jedi Survivor Final Gameplay Trailer

The critically acclaimed Jedi Fallen Order game is getting its sequel. Cal Kestis, Merrin, Greez, and Cere Junda are getting back together to fight against the unstoppable Galactic Empire.

Their motives have changed and not all of them agree on how things should be done but one thing is sure, someone must try to help the people of the galaxy and there isn’t a better team for it than the Mantis crew!

The final gameplay trailer was released during SWC 2023 and I couldn’t be more excited about it.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor releases on April 18! You are still on time to pre-order the game and obtain additional cosmetic appearances.

The Acolyte

The Acolyte will be the first live-action series of the High Republic era. It will take place around one hundred years before The Phantom Menace and we will learn how the Sith began to infiltrate the Republic.

Leslye Headland, the showrunner stated that for the first time, we will experience a Star Wars series from the perspective of the villains. This is something that I’ve always wanted to see, darkness is just as important as the light, and people who dwell in the shadows are complex characters with story arcs that can make us relate to them.

Star Wars Celebration 2023 Summary: The Acolyte news

Understanding the story of someone who has turned away from the light has always been incredibly interesting so I think that this series is going to be very entertaining and refreshing.

The Acolyte will be released in 2024! Learn more information about The Acolyte.

Three brand-new Star Wars movies announced

After many years, Lucasfilm and Disney have revealed that three new movies will release in the upcoming years.

Dave Filoni will be in charge of culminating the stories of series like The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and The Book of Boba Fett with one movie that will feature a big and epic battle.

“Dawn of the Jedi” is an era that happened 25,000 years before the Skywalker saga. This movie directed by James Mangold will tell the stories of the first Jedi, it is an unexplored period in time so the possibilities are endless.

Star Wars Celebration 2023 Summary: 3 New Star Wars Movies announced

Daisy Ridley is returning to reprise her role as Rey. She will be creating a new Jedi Order fifteen years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. It is still unknown if other characters will return in this movie directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

It is still too early but I’m more than curious to see what they do with these stories.

Skeleton Crew

Skeleton Crew was announced last year but almost zero details were revealed other than Jude Law plays one of the leading roles in the series. The Lucasfilm Panel at SWC 2023 gave us more information about this series that promises to be something very different.

The story will follow a group of kids that go on an adventure across the galaxy. What could possibly go wrong? It is described as “Star Wars meets The Goonies”.

Jude Law will be joined by Kerry Condon, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong.

The list of directors for Skeleton Crew includes Jon Watts, David Lowery, Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, the Daniels, and Lee Isaac Chung.

Skeleton Crew is being released later this year!

Second Season of Tales of the Jedi

During The Clone Wars panel, Dave Filoni said that the first season of Tales of the Jedi allowed him to bring new people and “teach them to do Star Wars” just like George taught him many years ago.

He also gave a very emotional speech stating how the love of the fans and the hard work of his team makes him feel incredibly grateful. Tales of the Jedi is one of his many ways to say thank you but also a form to mentor the new generation that will eventually take over.

There isn’t a release date yet but I’m sure it’s going to be as entertaining as the first season. Who would you’d like to see? Personally, I’d love to learn more about Asajj Ventress and the days of Palpatine as a Sith Acolyte.

Sneak peek at Andor Season 2

Tony Gilroy, Diego Luna, and more cast members talked about the process of doing Season 1. How real everything felt when the shooting; from the huge sets built for particular scenes to Diego Luna relating so much with Andor and the sense of community on Ferrix.

The first season of Andor was incredibly refreshing and we learned that people fight the Empire on different terms. Some want to play by the rules while others do not care about collateral damage as long as the destruction of the enemy is accomplished.

Season 2 will be even more intense, Cassian Andor is now fully committed to the cause and the Empire will now be actively looking for him.

Not many details were revealed but we know that the second season will last twelve episodes. Every three episodes a time skip of one year will happen and the series will conclude right after Rogue One.

Return of the Jedi returns to cinemas for its 40th anniversary

It is the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi and to commemorate this, the movie is returning to select cinemas on April 28th! This is an incredible opportunity to watch it on the big screen for those of us that weren’t alive when it was released in 1983!

Phase 3 of The High Republic

The High Republic team has announced the remaining books and comics for Phase II and the titles for all novels of Phase III. Wave 1 of Phase III will begin in October 2023 and finish in March 2024.

The High Republic has a lot of content, it can be overwhelming at first but it is really worth reading it. There are so many good characters with interesting backstories and everything is built very cohesively.

Unlike the more mainstream Star Wars media, the stories of The High Republic can get very dark and devastating for anyone that gets attached to the characters.

Star Wars Visions Volume 2

Star Wars Visions is a collaborative effort of Lucasfilm and Animation Studios from all over the world. Volume 1 of Star Wars Visions featured nine short episodes, all of them made by a different studio in Japan.

Every episode reflected the identity of its respective studio with compelling stories and distinctive animation styles.

The details of Visions Volume 2 were revealed a few months ago and the official trailer just got released! Star Wars Visions Volume 2 release date is May 4th, 2023.

The Bad Batch Final Season

Season 2 of The Bad Batch left us shocked and grieving, but the story of Omega, Hunter, Crosshair, Wrecker, Echo, and Tech (?) isn’t over yet. The stakes are now very real and failing is not an option, not anymore.

The Bad Batch will return for a third and final season in 2024! If you haven’t started watching it is now a great moment to do so. Are you a fan of Clone Wars and Rebels? Then this show is just for you!

Star Wars Celebration 2025 location

There is no doubt that Star Wars Celebration is the biggest event for Star Wars fans. After a two-year hiatus, it returned last year to the US; in 2023 it crossed the Atlantic Ocean to be celebrated in London.

The next Star Wars Celebration will take place in Japan in 2025! (No SWC in 2024). I certainly didn’t expect it and probably most fans felt the same way. After seventeen years this grand event will return to Asia!
