How to recruit Skoova
Before you can start collecting fish, you’ll need to find and recruit Skoova. You can find Skoova easily by going up the trail that leads to the Foothill Falls the Pyloon Saloon.
Take the right path up the zipline and you’ll find Skoova fishing in a pond. Talk to him to recruit him at the Pyloon Saloon.
The Foothill Falls is the area where the rumor to investigate the Abandoned Shack sends you. From here you can also access the Phon’Qi Caverns, where the map upgrade to reveal chest locations is.
Whenever you find Skoova on your adventures, talk to him and he’ll tell you about the local fish. Afterward, you can talk to him again to learn more of his backstory which is actually quite interesting.
Fighting the Empire and Bedlam Raiders is fun, but take some time to soak in the surroundings, enjoy some fishing, and listen to some old tales.
You can find Skoova on the upper level of the Pyloon Saloon. The aquarium will start out rather dirty but once you add more fish, it’ll become cleaner and more pristine.
If you go on the side of the tank opposite of Skoova, you can interact with a panel that will allow you to get an interior look at the aquarium.
Recruiting Skoova will also unlock him as an opponent in the Holitactics mini-game available in the Pyloon’s Saloon at Rambler’s Reach Outpost on Koboh.
All Koboh Fish Locations
The majority of the fish available for the tank can be found on Koboh. The following list will show you where each one is.
Barbed Hookfish location: Smuggler’s Tunnels
The Barbed Hookfish can be found in the Smuggler’s Tunnels right below Cal’s room. Just dive into the water and reach Skoova to get the fish!
Big-Mouth Faa location: Rift Passage Meditation Point
The Big-Mouth Faa Fish is found right next to the Rift Passage Meditation Point, it’s nearly impossible to miss.
Blinding Rayfish location: Devastated Settlement
Go to the Devastated Settlement and use the Relters to glide to a spire with a pond on top of it, you’ll find the Blinding Rayfish there. It would be easiest to glide down from the Grand Courtyard Meditation Point if you already have it unlocked.
Blue-Finned Crayfish location: Bygone Settlement
The Blue Finned Crayfish can be found at the end of the Bygone Settlement near the Nekko Pools. If you haven’t activated the Bygone Settlement’s Meditation Point, you’ll need to get there by riding a Nekko.
Fingerlip Garpon location: Rambler’s Reach Outpost
Behind the Nekko Stables in Rambler’s Reach Outpost, you’ll find Skoova near the river where you can get the Fingerlip Garpon.
Frilled Newt location: Gorge Crash Site
If you fast travel to the Gorge Crash Site Meditation Point, you’ll find the Frilled Newt very close by.
Glottsamcrab location: Viscid Bog
Go to the Viscid Bog Meditation Point and make your way to the hut on the island. In front of the hut is a ledge that goes down where you’ll find the Glottsamcrab.
Mee Fish location: Mountain Ascent
Starting from the Mountain Ascent Meditation Point, go past the green barriers (assuming you have the upgrade to do so) and defeat the Imperials. Jump down towards the waterfall and defeat the Rawkas in the area. You’ll find Skoova fishing here where you’ll get the Mee Fish.
Next to Skoova, behind the waterfall, you will find the entrance to the Chamber of Detachment.
See Fish location: Foothill Falls
You’ll find the See Fish where you initially found Skoova to recruit him in the Foothill Falls, across from the Abandoned Shack.
Viscid Lurker location: Phon’qi Caverns
This fish can be particularly dangerous to reach as you’ll have to go through the Phon’qi Caverns. Past the Rancor pit, you’ll find a path near some orange fungus that leads to a pond where you’ll find Skoova and the Viscid Lurker.
All Jedha Fish Locations
The remaining two fish can be found on Jedha. You’d think there would be no fish on a desert world but you’d be wrong.
Fantailed Laa location: Crypt of Uhrma
This is a tricky fish to get to as you’ll have to do some fighting, platforming, and puzzle-solving. Starting from the Crypt of Urhma Meditation Point, go right and defeat the Darktrooper and Imperials. Climb up the pillars then get across the grates, jump to the pole, and jump to the top of the slope to proceed.
Follow the path and you’ll reach a cave with numerous chimes within it. Go into the Crypt and solve the puzzle to find a passage blocked by a grate you can Force Pull. Pull it off and follow the path that will lead to the pond where Skoova and the Fantailed Faa wait.
Snakefish location: Anchorite Base
To the left and behind the Anchorite Base Meditation Point you’ll find the Snakefish.
When you find all Fish for the aquarium, you will earn the Skoova Diving achievement.
