A mix of cool easter eggs, interesting references, funny appearances, interactions, secrets and little-known facts about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor!

Easter eggs and references are some of the most fun things to look for in a Star Wars game, series, or movie. With so many stories, characters, and places it’s very easy to find something related to a different storyline. Here are some very cool easter eggs found in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor!

Phase II Clone Trooper Helmets

Pyloon’s Saloon is full of trinkets and objects from all around the galaxy. Two of this vast collection of items are helmets that were once owned by regular Clone Trooper Helmets from the Clone Wars era.

Jabba’s Sail Barge

Next to the location of one of the helmets mentioned above, there is a replica of Jabba’s Sail Barge. This is the transport that Jabba uses to transport Luke, Han, and Chewie to the Great Pit of Carkoon on Return of the Jedi.

Gatekeeper Droid

Speaking of Jabba, Return of the Jedi also introduces the Gatekeeper Droid. Its job is to serve as some sort of bouncer due to its ability to scan for weapons and decide whether someone is welcomed or not.

Greez installed one in Pyloon’s Saloon but considering that the Bedlam Raiders were able to go inside, it probably wasn’t too effective.

These droids are also heavily present around that one mysterious building near the cantina in Rambler’s Reach Outpost. This building is part of a rumor and hides a few secrets as well – an interesting story and a Skill Point essence. It is featured in our Skill Point Locations guide.

Rick the Door Technician

The bravest soldier in the entire Galactic Empire’s army is without a doubt, Rick the Door Technician. Unfortunately, the strength of this soldier doesn’t match his bravery. This meme boss is just as strong as any other Scout Trooper, so… basically harmless.

You will encounter Rick the Door Technician while on a mission to confront Dagan Gera at the Koboh Observatory.

A few years ago, a parody interview with “Matt, the Radar Technician” was released on Saturday Night Live for a segment called “Undercover Boss”. This interview shows Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) disguised as a Radar Technician that’s working on the Starkiller’s base. I believe that Rick is a reference to Matt.

Know what difficulty you or a friend are playing on

If you want to confirm your friend’s claims of playing Jedi Survivor on Jedi Grand Master difficulty, simply check the down left corner. There are some yellow dots that look useless but their purpose is to tell the difficulty set.

XJ-6 Airspeeder

An XJ-6 Airspeeder can be found in both Coruscant and Koboh. This is the same model of speeder that Anakin uses to pursue Zam Wessell after the failed attempt to end Padmé Admidala’s life.

Greez’s missing arm

This isn’t addressed in the game, but Greez is missing an entire arm. This is because of an encounter with the Fifth Brother during the events of Star Wars Jedi Battle Scars, a tie-in novel that happens before Jedi Survivor. While it is an entertaining read, you do not have to read it before playing Jedi Survivor.

Fight like Luke Skywalker

The Rancor fight at the end of the Sodden Grotto mine is the first “real” boss fight in the game, and it is a memorable one. This powerful creature can crush you in an instant or make Cal its breakfast if you’re too slow.

It is a very intimidating fight the first time that you play it but if you channel your inner Luke Skywalker it might be a little easier. There are big bones scattered around the cave, use the Force to pull them and then throw them to the Rancor’s mouth.

This will buy you time to inflict damage or reposition yourself, just like the legendary Jedi Knight did on Return of the Jedi.

Somehow Oggdo returned

Oggdo Bogdo is arguably the most infamous enemy in Jedi Fallen Order. It’s a very strong enemy and the powerful moves made it the worst nightmare of many players, especially since the encounter with it is very early in the game.

Respawn felt nostalgic and they decided to bring the demon frog to Jedi Survivor in a similar fashion. The Spawn of Oggdo is the successor of Oggdo Bogdo and it is found in a place that most of us didn’t suspect.

If you are struggling to defeat this mighty enemy, make sure to check out our Spawn of Oggdo Boss Guide.

Wanted Dead or Alive

The Galactic Empire has a lot of enemies, and it is going to use any means necessary to find any information that could leave to their arrest or termination.

When progressing through Coruscant, it’s possible to see two massive “Wanted” signs of both Cal Kestis and Caij Vanda.

Who are you calling scruffy-looking?

The Deluxe Edition of Jedi Survivor includes two cosmetic sets inspired by Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, the “Scoundrel” and “Rebel Hero” sets. The Scoundrel Jacket’s description is the same phrase that Princess Leia used to describe him in The Empire Strikes Back.

Matthew Wood

The B1 Battle Droids have been hilarious for over a decade and there is a good reason for that. Matthew Wood voiced these Droids in Revenge of the Sith and the Clone Wars animated show, giving them a silly and goofy personality.

Lucky for us, Wood is lending his voice to the B1 Battle droids in Jedi Survivor. I really suggest that you try to hear the conversations the B1 droids have with the Bedlam Raiders and even other droids, it’s hilarious.

Posing Mogu

My favorite easter of the game is the posing Mogu with the Battle Droids attempting to paint it. This is one of those things that the devs do to have fun and then hide it very well. It might not be related to other Star Wars media but it’s still such a cool easter egg.

If you want to learn how to find it check out our Posing Mogu Easter Egg Guide.

Far from the podracing tracks

The DUM Pit Droids were first introduced in The Phantom Menace. These droids are specifically designed to maintain and repair podracers. After Episode I, they appeared in Clone Wars, Rebels, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Jedi Survivor.

There’s one at the very beginning of Koboh, its ship has sunk and you can help it but only after unlocking the Force Lift ability. After helping the little droid, it’ll be at the landing bay next to the Mantis making sure that it’s ready for your next adventure.

Helping the droid by lifting his ship is tied to one of the achievements in Jedi Survivor called “There is no Try”. How appropriate!

Inspired by Darth Maul

The Vortex Dive attack from the Double-Bladed Lightsaber stance is extremely similar to one of Darth Maul’s moves in Star Wars Battlefront II. Maul does a few more spins but it is essentially the same.

Pet BD-1

It’s important to remind BD-1 that it is a valued and important member of the Mantis Crew. To pet/fist bump Cal’s loyal companion simply press and hold the D-Pad on the controller or “R” on your keyboard.

Helping Master Obi-Wan Kenobi

Jedi Survivor emphasizes the importance of The Hidden Path, a secret organization led by Cere Junda. Their main goal is not to fight the Empire but to restore and preserve anything related to the Jedi Order.

During the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series, Kenobi and Leia are helped by a group of people that are devoted to fighting the Empire and helping Jedi like Obi-Wan and Quinlan Vos. This group is, in fact, the Hidden Path.

Another fun fact is that both Jedi Survivor and the Kenobi series happen in the same year (nine years before A New Hope).

Admiral Rampart

Noshir Dalal is the man that gives life to Bode Akuna. However, this is not his first appearance on Star Wars media. He has also played Varko Grey in the Star Wars Squadrons game, Rass Ordo in Star Wars The Old Republic, and more recently Admiral Rampart in the amazing animated series The Bad Batch.

Let the Wookiee Win

During A New Hope, Chewie and R2-D2 face off in a Dejarik match. The Wookiee isn’t happy about losing and Han Solo implies that he will rip off some of the droid’s limbs if he gets angry.

I think that Holotactics, the game you can play in Pyloon’s Saloon after recruiting Tulli Mu and Bhima Ook is not just a reference to, but a more refined version of Dejarik. It is a very fun game and can be challenging without a proper strategy. If you are struggling with any opponent, check our Holotactics guide.

The Nihil

During the High Republic era, a group of deathly raiders known as The Nihil almost brought the entire Republic and Jedi Order to their knees. These are the same people that attacked Dagan Gera’s temple on Tanalorr, forcing the Jedi to abandon it.

Ebon Flow

One of the music tracks that can be played at Pyloon’s Saloon is “Ebon Flow”. This is a reference to “Even Flow” by Pearl Jam. The title is a very clever use of words because it also references the Ebon Hawk. A Starship that made its debut in the Knights of the Old Republic game.

BD-1’s Health Indicator

You might not have noticed, but BD-1’s back panel lights are colored depending on how much health you have. It can turn red, yellow, or green. It doesn’t impact the gameplay experience in any form but it’s still something cool.

Denvik’s Last Moments

After completing the story, you can return to Nova Garon and go inside Commander Denvik’s Office where you’ll find a Force Echo. Interacting with it will let you hear the ISB Commander speak his last words to none other than Darth Vader.

Boba Fett

After defeating Caij Vanda, the deadliest bounty hunter of this era will show up to collect his prize. Lucky for us, it’s not Cal. This is something that caught me by complete surprise, the best thing is that he is voiced by Temuera Morrison himself.

Rumors in Pyloon Saloon

There are a few posters tacked onto the walls of Pyloon Saloon. These posters are related to some of the first rumors that you can track on Koboh.

The first one has two B1 Battle Droids with a text that translates to this: “Missing Person. Several prospectors went to inspect a nearby cave and haven’t been seen in some time. Caution. There has long been speculation about what exactly lurks in the cave.”

This rumor is inside the Sodden Grotto Mine and with it, one of the most intimidating and menacing creatures of the entire game.

The second poster has a Jawa and translates to this: “Jawa Settlement. A Jawa settlement on the far side of the valley has recently fallen silent. Jawas aren’t usually the quiet type, something must be wrong.”

Investigate the Bygone Settlement and learn why the Jawas haven’t annoyed anyone on recent days.

“There’s an eccentric fisher, plying his trade at the base of a mountain in Imperial territory. He’s known to share vast tales of his perilous oceanic adventures. Might be worth checking if he’s safe.”

There is only one creature bold enough to get into imperial territory just to find a big fish. Skoova Stev is the best fisher on Koboh and he’s also one of the most unique friends of Cal Kestis. Even if Skoova isn’t a warrior, his interactions are always funny and different from the other characters.

“A traveling musician and their DJ companion had gone scouting the valley plateau to sample the sounds of the wild. Monk and others are starting to fear for their safety…”

This can only talk about Ashe and her loyal companion DD-EC. Ashe has committed to recording and documenting the most exotic sounds in the universe to incorporate them into her music.

Special Animation

The Poncho is both loved and hated by many people, whether you like it or not, it’s undeniable that it has achieved an almost iconic status among Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor players. To properly show the importance of this magnificent piece of clothing, the Poncho outfit in Jedi Survivor has been given a unique animation when equipping it. Go give it a try!

Was that for luck?

Near the end of the main objective to reach Pilgrim’s Sanctuary on Jedha (that’s the second time you visit Jedha for the main story), Merring kisses Cal right before they both jump into Merrin’s green vortex.

Merrin kisses Cal on Jedha - Was that for Luck Reference

At the end of the kiss, Cal asks playfully “Was that for luck”. This is a clear reference to the kiss Leia gave Luke in Episode IV when they were about to jump the bridge.
