Respawn released Patch 6 for Star Wars Jedi Survivor. It’s been a whole month since the last patch update so hopefully, this is an attempt to improve lots of bugs that have been a pain in the butt since day one of the game.
Patch 6 was released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X. Unlike previous patches, Respawn has released this patch for all platforms.
I can’t tell if this is indicative of anything in particular but at least console players won’t have to wait an entire week before being able to update.
Everyone at VULKK.com plays the game on PC so we can’t comment on the console’s performance. The Steam download is 5.5 GB for this patch.
Patch 6 Performance Observations
Saying that Jedi Survivor’s PC performance has been suboptimal would be an understatement. I don’t remember the last time a game frustrated me as much as Jedi Survivor, to the point that I had to take a break from the game despite really enjoying the story.
With this patch, I noticed that the stuttering was reduced and the fps not only increased but are also more stable in big open areas. If you’d like to know the exact number, it’s around 7-12 fps improvement over the last patch.
Keep in mind that I only play in 1080p with an RTX 3060ti and a Ryzen 5600, this improvement in performance will not be the same for everyone.
However, my PC continues to crash when Ray Tracing is enabled. It doesn’t matter if I’m in the Narkis desert or inside a small room on Nova Garon. This issue has been present since day one and it’s really disappointing that I haven’t been able to experience Ray Tracing in this game.
Keep in mind that this is my personal experience and it doesn’t represent the experience of every player.
Here are the patch notes:
- Various crash fixes across all platforms.
- Fix for bounty hunters not spawning.
- Fix for an issue where Caij would become invisible.
- Fix for occasional issue where “Find the Gorge’s Secret” Rumor could not be completed.
- Collision improvements.
- Improved blaster handling.
- Fixes for Photo Mode.
- Wind puzzle on Jedha fixed.
- Updates to the holomap map data.
- The training dummy on Jedha was sneaking around. It has now been immobilized.
- Various bug fixes & improvements.
Was Ray Tracing on Jedha Finally Fixed?
This segment was added to the article a day after the patch went live. Vulkk has been playing the game for two days to test the Ray Tracing performance on Jedha on a RTX 4090.
With absolutely everything maxed out, Jedha holds up nicely. Not a single crash with several hours spent fighting the desert sands. The tests involved Story bits from the second visit to Jedha and the objective to reach Pilgrim’s Sanctuary as well as solving the Jedha Desert Ruins Puzzles that award you additional Perk Slots.

Not a single crash so far. While in earlier patches crashes used to come almost as soon as Kal lands on the planet or exists the mantis, with Patch 6, it looks like Ray Tracing finally works on Jedha.
Update on the update: The game finally crashed once on Jedha at the end of the second visit, right as Kal was heading for the Mantis to go back to Koboh. Well, that’s quite a few hours of it working properly. Good progress at least, Respawn!
Are these improvements enough?
In case you haven’t noticed, there are zero mentions of performance improvements. However, I experienced little to no massive frame drops. I turned the settings to the highest and the frame rate is surprisingly stable.
I’m glad that the bounty hunters issue has finally been fixed. There are many players that still need to find every Bounty Hunter to 100% of the game and get all achievements.
There are still some problems that must be fixed like game saves being corrupted and losing a month’s progress worth of gameplay but Respawn is going in the right direction.
It’s a shame that it took them so long to fix some of the major issues of the game but at least players can now have a “better” experience.
The patch notes are sourced from EA’s website where they were revealed on June 20th. If or when there are changes to the console’s patch, I will revisit this article and update what and where is needed.
