This guide will tell you what the Electro Dart ability in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is and how to use it in advantageous ways as you progress through the main and side stories in the game!
BD-1 is the best companion Cal Kestis could ask for. It is loyal, resourceful, and extremely reliable under challenging situations. Since BD-1 is a droid, it doesn’t evolve as a character like Cere, Cal, or Merrin.
What makes BD-1 such a great droid is the fact that it can be constantly upgraded, these upgrades allow us to get to new areas or interact in a different way with both the environment and enemies.
Stim upgrades, slicing consoles, the Koboh Grinder, and the Electro Dart will let you explore every corner and find all secrets in Star Wars Jedi Survivor!
How and when to unlock the ability
Just like in Jedi Fallen Order, BD-1’s abilities get unlocked only after reaching a certain part of the story. The Electro Dart is obtainable right before going to the Koboh Observatory in a shuttle located at the Fogged Expanse.
Since acquiring the Electro Dart is part of the main story you won’t have to wander around trying to find this cool BD-1 upgrade.
How to use the ability in and out of combat
The Electro Dart activates electrical devices that move structures or open doors. Some of these can be used to reach places where chests are located or simply to get to the next location.
Aim with BD-1 and shoot the dart into the sparkling blue object. The button required to do this will change depending on if you use a controller or keyboard and the platform on which you play Jedi Survivor. You can check out our Controls and Keybinds Recommendations Guide for more info about this.
There’s no limit to how many darts you can shoot so don’t worry about missing a few times before hitting the target.
How to hack droids with Electro Dart
I’m saying Target because the Electro Dart can actually be used on enemy droids. The KX Security Droids are the first enemies you can use the dart on but you can actually use it on almost every type of droid enemy.
For DT Sentry Droids you have to defeat one of the many legendary enemies. To be able to slice Probe Droids, B1 Battle Droids, and B2 Super Battle Droids you must buy these abilities from Caij Vanda. To slice Droidekas you must go to the Shattered Moon. For the Magnaguards you must venture into the Phon’Qi Caverns while the slice upgrade for BX Commando Droids is located inside the Lucrehulk.
Slicing a KX Security Droid when it has around 15% health left isn’t the most exciting thing to do, however, the DT Sentry Droids can be sliced at full health. Please note that to slice and hack the DT Sentry Droids, you must do it without entering combat. They will start attacking the Imperial Troopers once you’ve been spotted.
Out of all enemies, I think the DT Sentry Droids are by far the best candidates to slice. Doing so is incredibly helpful when facing multiple strong enemies, especially on higher difficulties. The hangar on Nova Garon is the perfect example of this.
It might not look like much but using the Electro Dart in smart ways can get you out of sticky situations that would normally require a considerable amount of effort and even time.
