Cyberpunk 2077 Treating Symptoms Guide: What to do with Milko

Adrian by Adrian|

This guide will show you how to complete the Gig “Treating Symptoms” from Cyberpunk 2077’s expansion Phantom Liberty! The walkthrough details each step you must take and the possible endings whether you leave Allen to finish or take down Milko right away!

How to unlock the “Treating Symptoms” gig

After completing one of the main missions you’ll need to complete three Gigs while waiting for Songbird’s call. Mr Hands. will provide all of them, including this one.

The gig “Treating Symptoms” will appear as soon as you approach this area, even before the main mission “Get it Together” requests you to complete three gigs for Mr. Hands.

The gig is given to you when you approach the Luxor High Wellness Spa complex where the Voodoo Boys have set up their base. When you approach the area, Mr. Hands calls you and gives you the details.

The job was commissioned by Indira Barazza, a woman who is being blackmailed by a man named Milko Alexis, who works with the Voodoo Boys. Your objective is simple, infiltrate the hideout and kill the man who is threatening your client’s life.

Treating Symptoms mission walkthrough

Head to the Voodoo Boy’s hideout located on the East side of Dogtown.

The building is divided into sections, make sure to enter the one on the far left. There are two entrances, the main one is located at the front of the building, and it is guarded by several Voodoo Boys and a turret. The secondary entrance is located on the left, and there are only two guys guarding it.

It doesn’t make much difference which entrance you decide to use, as the first objective will be to eliminate all enemy forces. You can use a stealthy approach or blast your way in.

Once the enemies are gone, a new objective will appear on your map. Go inside the room in the picture below and talk to the Barghest supplier who’s shaking in fear.

This objective is optional, I’ll explain what happens if you skip this part in a later paragraph.

Pick either the second or third option to make him talk about the Voodoo Boys’ “business”. It turns out they have been assembling a small army of robots, and they’re in the next room.

The supplier will overload the servers, making them easier to destroy. If you pick the first choice in the conversation, the supplier won’t do anything to help.

Return to the hall and walk to the closed gate. Once you enter this room, there won’t be a way to get out until all robots have been destroyed.

All robots will be on standby mode but after taking a few steps the one located at the center (the strongest, the boss NPC) of the server room will activate. After a minute or so, the weaker ones will also activate and attack you from multiple sides.

The Robot R MK.2 hits very hard and is quite resistant, this is not an enemy that can be defeated with just a few headshots.

Remember what I said about the servers being overloaded? The servers are these boxes with a red glow, they are located all over the room. When shot, they release an EMP pulse that is super strong.

When the main robot gets hit by the EMP pulse, it will stop attacking for a few seconds. This is your opportunity to do as much damage as possible. Move to where the next server is located and repeat this process multiple times until it is defeated.

Don’t ignore the weaker robots, they can inflict a lot of damage. However, the main objective should always be to defeat the most powerful one. Once it’s down the rest will get deactivated almost instantly.

If the supplier doesn’t overload the servers, then you won’t have anything to gain an advantage. You still have to defeat the boss droid to deactivate the lockdown.

The MK.2 Robot drops the iconic Smart Pistol “Ogou”. Don’t forget to claim your reward before leaving this area. We, of course, have it listed in our catalog of all new Iconic Items in Phantom Liberty!

Leave the server room and continue walking until you stumble upon this scene. Your objective is the man on the chair. The other guy (Alan) is from NetWatch, he has infiltrated the Voodoo Boys in an attempt to discover who pulls Milko’s strings.

what to do with Milko in Treating Symptoms gig

Letting him continue his work won’t solve your client’s problem but in the long run, it could help many other people. However, leaving a job unfinished might hurt V’s reputation. What will you do?

Should you kill Milko

After killing Milko, leave the Voodoo Boys base. Mr. Hands will transfer Eight thousand eddies to your account as payment for another successful job. Indira will no longer be threatened by this blackmailer.

You did your job nd took care of the interests of your client. Nothing more, nothing less. You did exactly what your fixer wanted you to. But was it the right choice after all?

What happens if you allow Allen to finish with Milko

Allowing Alan to finish has a better ending for everyone. Mr. Hands pays you the same money, Alan makes contact to say that Indira has been put on witness protection.

Several hours (gameplay-wise) later, Alan sends another text thanking for the help and another eight thousand eddies as gratitude. Sparing Milko is by far the best choice, it’s a win-win situation for everyone.

Alan's message for V

This concludes our guide to the gig in Dogtown “Treating Symptoms”. Whether you completed this when you discovered it, or when the main mission required you to complete gigs to progress, this mission does not have a lasting impact on anything from the main story of Phantom Liberty. It just feeds you Eddies, Experience, Loot and a moral choice that you have to make.
