How to unlock “No Easy Way Out”

No easy way out is a side job in Cyberpunk 2077. It can be unlocked after completing the main quest “Lucretia my reflection” and spending a few days in Dogtown.

Coach Fred will send you a message regarding one of his former students. The guy needs some help and you’re the best person for it. He’s fighting Southwest of the Heavy Hearts club. His name is Aaron Waines.

How to unlock "No Easy Way Out"

You’ll see a guy who’s taking bets. Aaron, the guy you’re looking for is currently fighting. Betting isn’t required but he’ll win the fight, it’s an easy way to make some eddies. This doesn’t affect the mission in any way.

Talk to Aaron and agree to help

After the fight is done Aaron will go sit up on one of the benches. He takes V for a fan but that’s obviously not the reason for your visit.

He mentions needing help with something, at first it looks like he doesn’t want to give many details but that changes quickly.

He wants to see Damir, one of the best ripperdocs in Dogtown. However, he’s inside a building occupied by the Animals, a gang from Pacifica. They don’t appreciate uninvited guests, it’s your job to make sure that Aaron gets to see him.

The reason he wants to see Damir specifically is because he installed a chip in Aaron’s head, and there’s no one else who’s more qualified to remove it. Aaron gives you the coordinates and asks to meet there later.

After getting to said coordinates, you must sit on this bench and wait for Aaron to arrive.

Aaron will arrive a few hours later and lead you to where the ripperdoc is located. Before going in, he explains how the Animals paid for all of the combat implants he’s been using in his fights.

The catch is that there’s a chip in his brain, if this chip is activated he’ll immediately hit the ground and lose the fight. The most important fight of his career is close and he wants to take no chances.

Reach the Ripperdoc’s clinic at the top level

Time to get to the ripperdoc. This place is swarmed with Scavs, you’ll have to fight for every inch of ground.

There’s a turret in the middle of the building (at ground level), use it to your advantage. Normally a single turret wouldn’t make that much of a difference but since there are so many enemies shooting from all directions it really helps.

This is a tall building, don’t forget to look up. There are snipers and netrunners attempting to quickhack you from the distance. They aren’t a huge threat on their own but with the amount of enemies gathering in this area, you can be overwhelmed easily.

Use the stairs to get to the higher levels, Damir’s clinic is at the top of this building. As you progress more Scavs will continue to show up, look back every few seconds to make sure that no one is following you. The turret is also useful to prevent this.

The last bridge has two gaps on it, it’s super easy to miss it due to the chaos. It’s a very long fall and an embarrassing way to go down,be careful.

It doesn’t take much to “convince” the ripperdoc to proceed with the surgery. You wait in a chair nearby until he’s done with Aaron.

The chip was deactivated instead of removed, this is safer and saves Aaron some time. It might not be exactly what Aaron wanted but it’s still a desirable outcome.

Shortly after the surgery is over, Angie will show up. She’s the leader of the Animals and the woman responsible for Aaron’s current problem. It turns out that Aaron has been throwing fights for quite some time, without her actually having to use the chip.

Angie doesn’t want to let go of the guy who could win her many eddies but at the same time, she’s not a hot-headed gang leader like so many others in Night City. She’s willing to work things out and make an arrangement that benefits almost all parties. But how everything unfolds is up to you.

Angie will offer ten percent of the winnings, you can answer three different things. However, there are four possible outcomes to this story.

All Possible Endings Explained

At the ripperdoc, when Angie shows up, you have to make a choice and this will change the ending and the outcome of the mission. Below I have explained all available options you have and how things will end for everyone involved.

What if you accept Angie’s deal

If you accept the deal Aaron will remain here. Leave the building and wait for Angie to call you back (or you can skip three days), she’ll tell you to go to the place where the fights take place and give you twenty-two thousand eddies.

Oddly enough, the Scavs let you walk away as if nothing happened. This will happen regardless of what you choose.

Aaron is forced to “work” for them for the foreseeable future. Coach Fred messages you explaining his disappointment about you not being able to help Aaron. This is the most neutral ending to this mission.

What if you threaten Angie

Choosing the threatening option will show Angie that she’s messing with someone above her level. As soon as V mentions Sasquatch she immediately abandons any idea of messing with you. Sasquatch was a boss that you defeated during the “I Walk the Line” mission, and former leader of the Animals.

Aaron will wake up seconds after Angie leaves the room. You explain what happened with Angie and that he won’t get hurt after what happened in this place. He is unsure about what to do with the fight and asks for your council.

If you tell him to throw the fight or that Angie told you everything he’ll reach out after a few days saying that he lost the fight and is now coaching some young kids in Dogtown.

Encouraging Aaron to fight fairly results in him losing the fight. He goes to Costa Rica where he’s doing some street fights. Aaron has to start from the bottom but at least no one is threatening to throw fights.

Regardless of what you choose, five thousand eddies will be transferred to your account after completing the gig.

What happens if you Shoot Angie

You can choose the violent option and take down Angie and her goons, none of them are truly dangerous so it shouldn’t be any problem. Angie will drop “Cheetah”, an iconic Power Pistol. More details about this weapon can be seen in our Iconic Items Guide.

After exiting the building (and waiting three days), Aaron sends a message saying that he lost the fight and that he wants to talk about something.

After arriving at the place, you notice that Aaron hasn’t arrived. The server mentions that he was here earlier but that two guys who looked like him (just bigger) approached him and then went to the alley.

Sadly, Aaron’s body is lying on the ground. The Animals avenged Angie and went after their former “employee”. It’s a tragic ending for someone who was chasing his dream but sadly this is the nature of Night City.

The guys who killed Aaron are standing just a few feet away from his body, in case you want to pay them back with the same coin. I’m sure it’s them because they look just like Angie’s bodyguards.

This concludes my walkthrough for the side job in Dogtown “No Easy Way Out”. I hope you have enjoyed it and learned everything you wanted for it from my guide.
