This guide will show you how to complete the side job “Dazed and Confused” from Cyberpunk 2077’s expansion Phantom Liberty and how to get the Lina Malina’s Bike, the Malina-Mobile, an almost-free bike you can get in Dogtown! The walkthrough details each step you must take to obtain this fantastic ride.
How to unlock the “Dazed And Confused” mission
Unlocking this side mission will only be possible after completing the main job “The Damned”, part of the Dogtown storyline in Phantom Liberty. This is when you and Reed infiltrate a Voodoo Boy’s hideout to seek help from a netrunner that goes by the name of “Slider”.
Sometime later after this mission has been completed you’ll receive a message from Mr. Hands saying that a Braindance star needs your help. This is a very simple mission which is great considering how cool the reward is.
Required actions to get Lina Malina’s Bike
After getting the message from Mr. Hands, head Southwest of the Black Hearts Club to the BD store located on the third floor of the plaza.
You’ll stumble upon a weird scene. A guy called Tool has been trapped in a boot by the owner of the boutique. He has been consuming way too many BDs and this has altered his perception of reality to the point that Tool now believes to be the BD star Lina Malina herself, despite the obvious physical differences.
His condition is not permanent, though that doesn’t make it less disturbing. If we have learned something about Night City it’s that one man’s problem is another guy’s way to make good business and this case is no exception.
The store owner, Shank, sees this as the perfect opportunity to contact Lina and convince her to do a collab. This will improve the store’s reputation.
You’re given the direction of the BD star and head to her address in the middle of Dogtown. The house is being guarded by some unfriendly Scavs but that has never stopped V.
If you choose the “Streetkid” lifepath, the option to get rid of them peacefully will be available, but in the end, it doesn’t matter how you do so.
After knocking a couple of times on her door it’s evident that Lina is not home. Sit on the chair that’s nearby and wait for a couple hours until she shows up.
She’ll show up and ask about her bodyguards, tell her that they were gone when you showed up. Remember that it’s better not to scare her since the goal is to get her bike, the Malina-Mobile.
Lie to Lina about being a BD scout, she’ll ask for the payment in advance. The only viable option here is to pay her the ten thousand eddies. Otherwise, you won’t be able to complete the mission as intended.
If you have completed the Kerry Eurodine questline a third option will be available. Choosing this will let you keep the money. After this conversation, she agrees to meet later at the Brainporium.
Once you get there, Lina and Tool will be talking. She looks very uncomfortable but she’s a professional and will do whatever you say. Sit on the director’s chair and give instructions to Lina.
It’s extremely important that you tell her to convince Tool that he’s her sister, this is the most important choice of the mission.
After a rocky start things turn out great and she looks eager to shoot more scenes in the future. Shank is extremely happy and Lina doesn’t know it yet but this will catapult her career.
After completing the mission you’ll receive a message from Lina saying that she left a little present at the Brainporium.
It is the Tier 5 Iconic Weapon “Baby Boomer”, a Two-Handed Club that makes the most hilarious “bonk” sound I’ve ever heard in Cyberpunk 2077. You can learn more about this and other weapons in our Iconic Items Guide for Phantom Liberty. This is the first present from Lina, the bike will be delivered later.
After a few days (around eight), Lina will send more messages explaining how her career has kicked off thanks to what she did at the Brainporium. Some updates later she’ll finally say that a very special present is awaiting you near the Brainporium’s entrance.
The “Malina-Mobile” will be right there ready for its new owner to take it out for a good ride. Get close to it and interact with it so that it can be officially yours. You can also get the top that Malina is wearing but this requires the player to play as a female V. and pick the option where you tell the tool that he’s an FIA clone. Please note that it’s either the top or the bike, you can’t get both rewards.
Once you’ve done this, it will appear in your vehicle list ready to be summoned at any time. I’m not usually a fan of the purple color but I can’t deny that it looks amazing in this bike.
The Malina-Mobile is just like most other bikes in Night City but its incredible looks really make it stand out from the rest.
If you love free stuff then I also suggest getting the Outlaw “Weiler” car, this is probably my favorite vehicle in Phantom Liberty and unlike most cars, it’s fairly easy to drive. With the Malina Mobile and the Outlaw Car, you’ll always ride in style regardless of how many wheels you prefer.
This concludes our guide on how to acquire Lina Malina’s Bike called the Malina-Mobile from the side job “Dazed And Confused”, available in Dogtown.
