First LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary New Sets Revealed

Adrian by Adrian|

2024 is the year that marks twenty-five years of collaboration between Lucasfilm and The LEGO group. There are many great upcoming releases and the first wave has just been announced! Along with the release date and price tags.

LEGO Star Wars has been around for quite some time, for twenty-five years we’ve been building the sets from our favorite Star Wars media. It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of the Original Trilogy, Sequels, Prequels, The Mandalorian, Andor, The Clone Wars, or The Bad Batch, there’s a set for you.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars, new sets have been unveiled at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. These sets are now available for pre-order, with a release date of March 1, 2024.

Boarding the Tantive IV

One of the most iconic moments of A New Hope is when we see Darth Vader for the first time and board the Tantive IV with the Stormtroopers. It’s quite a way to introduce the antagonist of the franchise and arguably the best villain in cinema history. I couldn’t think of a better scene to celebrate LEGO Star Wars.

This set includes 502 pieces and a total of seven minifigures; Darth Vader, two Stormtroopers, Captain Antilles, and two Rebel Fleet Troopers. Also, Arc Trooper Fives is included as part of the 25th anniversary celebration.

It’s possible to buy two sets to extend the corridor’s length if you’d like to have a set that’s as close as possible to the scene. This set measures over 3 in. (8 cm) high, 8.5 in. (22 cm) wide and 5 in. (13 cm) deep. The release price is $54.99.

R2-D2

Our favorite astromech needs no introduction, R2-D2 has been a fan-favorite character for decades and one of the few characters to appear in every single Star Wars movie. It’s almost mandatory to have a new set of the galaxy’s bravest droid.

The RD-D2 set is made of 1050 pieces and includes an additional minifigure of it. Like some of these new sets, it includes a minifigure as part of the 25th anniversary. In this case, it’s Darth Malak from the first Knights of the Old Republic game. R2-D2 and Darth Malak are a very odd combination, but not an unpleasant one.

This R2-D2 droid figure measures over 9 in. (24 cm) high, 6 in. (16 cm) wide and 4 in. (11 cm) deep. The release price is $99.99.

Tantive IV

The CR90 Corellian Corvette also known as Tantive IV, is the first ship to ever appear in Star Wars. It carried Leia Organa and other members of House Organa right before being boarded by Darth Vader. Even if it didn’t appear in many scenes after that, it still remains a very memorable moment of the Original Trilogy.

This mid-scale Lego set is made of 654 pieces, it includes a nameplate and a LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary brick. The Tantive IV LEGO set measures over 6 in. (15 cm) high, 12.5 in. (32 cm) long and 4 in. (11 cm) wide. The release price is $79.99.

Millennium Falcon

When anyone thinks of a “Star Wars starship” the Millennium Falcon is probably the first ship that comes to their mind, and for good reason. Even in the most difficult situations, the Falcon was a big reason for the success. Whether it’s escaping from an Imperial Star Destroyer or leading the charge to destroy the second Death Star, you can always count on the old and reliable Millennium Falcon.

The mid-scale Millennium Falcon includes 921 pieces, it comes with a nameplate and a LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary brick. measures over 5 in. (13 cm) high, 9.5 in. (24 cm) long and 7.5 in. (19 cm) wide. The release price is $84.99.

The Invisible Hand

The Invisible Hand is a ¨Providence-class Carrier used by General Grievous during his time as the general of the droid army that fought the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. This massive ship might not have the importance of the previous sets, but it’s still very cool to get it on a mid-scale set.

The Invisible Hand includes 557 pieces, it comes with a nameplate and a LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary brick. This set measures over 7 in. (17 cm) high, 11.5 in. (30 cm) long and 3.5 in. (9 cm) wide. This is the smallest set of this announcement but that’s also reflected in the $49.99 price tag.

This is just the first wave of the year, coming out on March 1. The items are available for pre-order at the LEGO store. We’ll have more releases to celebrate the 25 years of LEGO Star Wars. What are you most excited about?
