This guide will show you the locations of all 5 Seedbed Curses in Elden Ring, required to progress and complete the Dung Eater quest chain and unlock the Blessing of Dispair Ending.

What is a Seedbed Curse

A Seedbed Curse is a collectible item that festers on a corpse defiled by the Dung Eater. They are required to progress the Dung Eater’s quest and unlock the Blessing of Despair Ending.

There are 5 Seedbed Curses in the game, though they can only be found at specific locations on the Altus Plateau and Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.

The Seedbed Curses at Lyndell, Royal Capital, must be acquired before you defeat Maliketh at Crumbling Farum Azula, or you will be unable to defile the Dung Eater sufficiently to produce a mending rune.

Domed Trilevel at Lyndell, Royal Capital

There are 2 Seedbed Curses at Lyndell, Royal Capital. One of them is located on the third level of the first building you enter at Lyndell, Royal Capital, on the Altus Plateau. Again, this Seedbed Curse is missable.

Roundtable Hold at Lyndell, Royal Capital

There are 2 Seedbed Curses at Lyndell, Royal Capital. One of them is located at the physical Roundtable Hold at Lyndell, Royal Capital, in the same room where the Dung Eater would be in the nonphysical version. Again, this Seedbed Curse is missable.

Volcano Manor

There is a Seedbed Curse at the Volcano Manor. It is located at the bottom of the multistory room locked by Stonesword Key. This door is in the same building as the portal to Rykard and the serpent with the egg on its head.

Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree (High)

There are 2 Seedbed Curses at Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. The first is located up high, visible from where all of the Haligtree soldiers can shoot at you.

There is a wooden vine that wraps around the outcropping, but it’s a red herring. It doesn’t quite reach. Instead, you need to get over to the roof of the building with 2 Cleanrot Knights that has a Crimson dung beetle flitting about a gazebo, along with the chest containing the Spirit Ashes of Cleanrot Knight Finlay.

Once there, you’ll need to head over to the brace on the other side of the building, opposite the one I’m standing on in this picture. The ledge you end up on will have what you need.

Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree (Low)

There are 2 Seedbed Curses at Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. The second is located down low, on the second floor of the unlit building with far too many Rotten Crystallians and whose main entrance is on the same level as the excessive number of Royal Revenants on patrol.

The second level is inaccessible from the first, so you’ll need to jump over the railing down to a lower level right before going into the first room with 3 Cleanrot Knights. The photo below shows where you can see the path, though it’s just a vantage point.

This shot also shows the brace and gazebo needed to reach the higher Seedbed Curse.

Endonae is a passionate gamer who's particularly fond of challenging action RPGs and open world games with visceral combat. The closer it is to being a Soulslike, the better. Ranged casters, particularly of the energy or elemental variety, are his bread and butter. Lightsabers are pretty cool, too.
