Gaius’ armor set in Elden Ring is available exclusively in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. It has all 4 pieces (helm, chest, gauntlets and greaves), pictured with (part of) his Sword Lance.
Gaius’ Armor Set and Equipment Description and Stats
Gaius’ Armor Set has a combined weight of 44.3 (excluding the Sword Lance), making it one of the heaviest sets in the second heaviest weight class in the game. It straddles the line between its assigned class and the one above it, with very similar stats to Lionel’s Armor Set.

The Sword Lance is the weapon he uses while riding atop his trusty boar to joust you. It’s categorized as a Heavy Thrusting Sword, but it’s a hybrid weapon between a Greatsword and a Lance and comes with unique, but removable Ash of War, Spinning Gravity Thrust.
You can also cast one of his Gravity Sorceries, Blade of Stone. It doesn’t deal enough damage or activate fast enough to justify the cost of 2 Memory Slots, but I’m glad that we finally have a spell that’s reminiscent of the Gravity Stone items.
You’ll find the Sharpshot Talisman nearby, in addition to FIVE Scadutree Fragments at the Chalice itself. It’s only related to Gaius as a way to reinforce his Albinauric heritage, but it’s worth mentioning here.
Where to find Gaius’ Armor Set and Equipment
You can purchase the entire armor set except for Gaius’ Greaves from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold after defeating him behind the Shadow Keep.
In order to reach the Shadow Keep, Back Gate, you must go through the Church District up to the backroom area of the Specimen Storehouse and ride an elevator back down. For more information, check out our Shadow Keep Unique Item Locations Guide.
You’ll find Gaius’ pants and the Sharpshot Talisman with his ladyfriend at the ricketiest Motel 6 (Albinauric Shack) you’ve ever seen.
The owner likely never had enough financial incentive to renovate because they were within walking distance of the Scadutree Chalice.
You can exchange the Remembrance of the Wild Boar Rider for either the Blades of Stone (Sorcery) or Sword Lance.
How to fight Commander Gaius
At first glance, Commander Gaius might seem like a gimmick boss. My gut reaction was to use my horse, and then change to the tankiest build I could make when that didn’t work out, but you don’t have to use Torrent or change up your build for this fight.
It may seem like it’s almost impossible to dodge his attacks, but the Sword Lance is what has the huge hitbox. Dodge to the side without his Sword Lance, and stay on that side when attacking him.
