Shadow of the Erdtree All Armor Sets and Associated Weapons Catalog

This guide will show you all Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Armor Sets and their associated weapons and other gear available in the game – a full catalog with high-quality images of the front and back visuals as well as descriptions and information on where and how to get the sets!

Elden Ring has a vast collection of armor sets you can wear and continues the tradition of “if you see it, you can wear it” like other From Software games. There are some exceptions, particularly with enemies that have less humanoid appearances, but usually enemies have a chance to drop a piece of the armor set they’re wearing upon being defeated.

Armor worn by friendly NPCs and more unique enemies, like bosses, are typically obtainable through specific drops where you’ll get most or all of the armor set at once.

In this guide, I’ll be showcasing all the different armor sets you can get in Shadow of the Erdtree expansion from both front and back, along with the altered version as well as matching armaments, and where you can find them. In addition, I also have some tips on how you can make farming for a specific set more efficient at the end of this guide.

Some distinct sets really should have been altered versions of another set because they’ll have the same base and then adjust 1-2 pieces.

This guide will treat the sets as they are presented in-game and include matching weapons.

The sets are ordered according to their place in the default order in-game, beginning with the lightest weight class. It should be pretty close to the exact order you see in your inventory. I have also put character names in parentheses next to the name of the armor set in case you are looking for the armor worn by a specific character.

Armor Sets Full Catalog (Expansion Only)

At the end of each segment, you will find a link leading to a dedicated guide with additional information, including images from more angles, lore descriptions, item stats and some tips on how and when to use each item.

Rock Heart (Transformation Item)

You receive the Rock Heart item for finding the location depicted in the “Domain of Dragons” painting on the Jagged Peak. Also pictured is the Dragon-Hunter’s Great Katana.

You receive the Dragon-Hunter’s Great Katana for defeating the Ancient Dragon-Man at the end of the Dragon’s Pit (Cave) on the Gravesite Plain.

Priestess Heart (Transformation Item)

The Dragon Priestess leaves behind the Priestess Heart item and Flowerstone Gavel at the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion after you defeat Bayle the Dread at the summit of the Jagged Peak, though only if you did not give her Thiollier’s Concoction.

Lamenter’s Mask (Transformation)

You receive the Lamenter’s Mask item for defeating the Lamenter at the bottom of the Lamenter’s Gaol at Charo’s Hidden Grave. You can find the rest of his paraphernalia there as well.

Braided Cord (Hornsent)

You receive the Hornsent’s Braided Cord attire and Falx, a pair of Curved Swords, whenever you defeat the Hornsent. You have an opportunity to do so at Shadow Keep and as part of the main story in Enir-Ilim.

High Priest (Count Ymir)

You can alter the High Priest Robes into the Finger Robes.

You receive Count Ymir’s High Priest attire, Cherishing Fingers, and Maternal Staff at the end of his Finger Ruins questline.

Dryleaf (Dane)’s Gear

You can alter his chestpiece to remove the outer cloak.

You receive Dane’s Hat and Dryleaf Arts for defeating him at Moorth Ruins Cross on Scadu Altus.

You can loot the rest of the Dryleaf outfit at the base of the second waterfall along the Recluses’ River on Scadu Altus leading out of Shadow Keep.

(Sir) Ansbach’s Gear

You can alter Ansbach’s chestpiece to remove the outer pinned cloak.

You receive Sir Ansbach’s Attire and Longbow after he dies, and have opportunities to do so at Specimen Storage in Shadow Keep as well as after you defeat the final boss.

You also receive the Obsidian Lamina (Reaper) and Furious Blade of Ansbach (Incantation) if you don’t attack him at Specimen Storage.

Thiollier’s Gear

You can alter Thiollier’s garb to remove the hair on the chestpiece.

You can steal Thiollier’s Attire and Hidden Needle while he’s snoozing after defeating the final boss. You can purchase his Deadly Poison Perfume Bottles from him for 6k Runes.

Gravebird Set and Spirit Weapons

There is a separate chestpiece that is functionally the same as an an unaltered version to the standard Gravebird chestpiece.

Each piece of the Gravebird set is located near a flock of statuesque Gravebirds, typically leading to a sarcophagus, at separate locations throughout the Shadow Realm.

The Spirit Weapons (and Rings of Spectral Light Sorcery) are located in Charo’s Hidden Grave and the Cerulean Coast.

Dancer’s Outfit (Red or Black Dress)

You can alter the dress to remove the red outer layer, leaving only the black beneath. Pictured below is the dress only.

You receive the Dancer’s Outfit and Dancing Blade of Ranah for defeating the Dancer of Ranah at the Southern Nameless Mausoleum on an island off the Cerulean Coast. You can also find the Perfumed Oil of Ranah reusable item on the same island.

Common Soldier (Tabard Series)

Individual pieces of the Common Soldier armor set, part of the Tabard-wearing Foot Soldier series, have a chance to drop from Messmer’s Common Soldier enemies wearing the set. One of the best locations to farm the Common Soldier set is at the war camp in front of Castle Ensis.

Shadow Militiaman (Jawa)

Individual pieces of the Shadow Militiaman armor set have a chance to drop from the lil’ Shadow Militiamen enemies wearing the set. One of the best locations to farm the Shadow Militiaman set, including the Jawa helmet, is at the Shadow Keep after unlocking the shortcut from the Main Gate Plaza (Golden Hippo room) to the Specimen Storehouse elevator.

Highland Leather

You can loot the Highland Leather set from a corpse near Ravla, the Great Red Bear, at its pond on Scadu Altus. The set shares the hand and leg pieces with the Gloried Leather set, effectively an altered version.

Gloried Leather

You can loot the Gloried Leather set from a corpse near Rugalea, the Great Red Bear, on the fecal northern side of the Scorpion River at Rauh Base. The set shares the hand and leg pieces with the Highland Leather set, effectively an altered version.

Iron Rivet and Pelt of Ravla

The Iron Rivet set is made for the Pelt of Ralva. However, if your Elden Lord has yet to harness the power of Bear Communion, you’ll have to make do with the Fang Helm.

You receive the Iron Rivet armor set with Fang Helm and Red Bear Claws for defeating the NPC named Red Bear at the Northern Nameless Mausoleum, accessible via Spiritspring from Rauh Base.

You receive the Pelt of Ravla for defeating Ravla, the Great Red Bear, at its pond on Scadu Altus.

Igon’s Gear

You can alter Igon’s helm and chest pieces to remove some of the excess baggage, hopefully what was responsible for giving him a Captain Ahab complex.

You can loot Igon’s Armor Set and Greatbow from his corpse on Jagged Peak. If you complete his quest by defeating Bayle the Dread atop the Jagged Peak first, Igon’s Greatbow comes with an improved Skill: Igon’s Drake Hunt that adds yelling and screaming to the Skill: Through and Through.

(Curseblade) Acetic

Individual pieces of the Acetic armor set, including the Curseblade (Backhand Blade) have a chance to drop from Curseblade Acetics. One of the best locations to farm Aceitics is ahead of the very first Site of Grace you come across in the Shadow Realm, Gravesite Plain.

There’s another good place right before the Stagefront Site of Grace at Belurat, Tower Settlement, just outside of the boss room. However, it’s in the same tower as the Spider-Scorpions, and I’m just not willing to gamble the rest of my day like that.

Messmer Soldier

You can alter the chestpiece to remove the cloak and remind yourself of Shrek.

Individual pieces of the Messmer Soldier armor set, including the Messmer Soldier’s Axe, Spear, and Shield, have a chance to drop from Messmer’s Soldiers. One of the best locations to farm Messmer Soldier gear is at the war camp in front of the Shadow Keep at Scadu Altus.

It’s good to farm both the Black Knight and Messmer Soldier gear at the same time since you can find a lot of both in that area.

Freyja’s Gear

You can modify the chestpiece to remove the cape.

You can loot Freyja’s Armor Set and Greatsword (Curved Greatsword) from her corpse before the final boss after defeating her in battle.

You receive the Golden Lion Shield (Medium Shield) from Freyja for completing her quest at Specimen Storage in the Shadow Keep.

Swordhand of Night (Jolán and Anna)

You can loot the Swordhand of Night armor set and Shield of Night from tortured corpses at Bonny Gaol in Bonny Village on Scadu Altus. You’ll need to use the jar elevator after defeating the Shadow Man wallowing on the elevator button.

You receive the Claws of Night for defeating Swordhand of Night Anna beneath at the Finger Ruins of Miyr beneath Ymir’s throne at the Cathedral of Manus Metyr.

You can loot the Sword of Night from Swordhand of Night Jolán’s corpse after choosing to use an Iris of Occultation on her at the end of the Finger Ruins questline.

Messmer’s Gear

You can purchase Messmer’s armor set (sans inner-thigh “serpent”) for 45k runes from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold after defeating him at his Dark Chamber at the Shadow Keep. You can exchange Remembrance of the Impaler for either the Spear of the Impaler or Messmer’s Orb (Incantation).

Black Knight

Individual pieces of the Black Knight armor set have a chance to drop from any Black Knight, while each of the Black Knight armaments drop from a specific Black Knight out in the world.

One of the best locations to farm Black Knight armor is at the war camp in front of the Shadow Keep on Scadu Altus. The Black Knights are mostly guarding the front of the camp.

I recommend farming both the Black Knight and Messmer Soldier sets at the same time, as you can find both in high quantities here.

Fire Knight

You can alter the chestpiece to remove the cloak and look like Fire Knight Queelign. However, none of the helmets adjust their height to compensate for the lack of fabric around the collar.

Individual pieces of the Fire Knight armor set as well as the Fire Knight Greatsword (Colossal Sword) and Shortsword (Dagger) have a chance to drop from Fire Knights wielding them. The only location to farm Fire Knight gear is at Specimen Storage within the Shadow Keep.

You can only loot the trio of alternate headpieces, the Fire Knight Seal, and Queelign’s Greatsword (Heavy Thrusting Sword) from specific locations or special Fire Knight enemies. All of them are located within the Shadow Keep.

Death Knight

You can loot the Death Knight armor set from an already-dead Death Knight inside the Darklight Catacombs at the end of Recluses’ River connecting Scadu Altus to the Abyssal Forest. You can also loot Knight’s Lightning Spear from those Catacombs.

You receive the Death Knight’s Twinaxes (Axe) and Longhaft Axe (Greataxe) for defeating the Death Knight bosses at the end of the Fog Rift and Scorpion River Catacombs respectively.

Horned Warrior

Individual pieces of the Horned Warrior armor set, including the Horned Warrior’s Sword (Curved Sword), have a chance to drop from Horned Warriors.

One of the best locations to farm Horned Warrior gear is patrolling up the stairs right next to the Small Private Altar Site of Grace (also closest to the Hornsent Grandam) at Belurat, Tower Settlement on the Gravesite Plain.

Divine Beast Warrior

The Divine Beast Warrior set consists solely of the head and chest pieces. These enemies use the arm and leg pieces from the Horned Warrior set, though only the distinct Divine Beast Helm and Armor (chest) can drop from Divine Beast Warriors. This helmet is distinct from the Divine Beast Head, though it’s similar in all the ways you’d expect.

You can only find Divine Beast Warriors at Enir-Ilim. The best place to farm the Divine Beast Warrior armor pieces is back down the stairs from the Spiral Rise Cross Site of Grace at Enir-Ilim.

The Divine Beast (Warrior) Helm is a properly-sized version of the Divine Beast (Dancing Lion) Head you loot from said boss at Belurat, Tower Settlement.

You receive the Horned Warrior’s Greatsword (Curved Greatsword) for defeating a specific Divine Beast Warrior that doesn’t respawn at the exposed walkway leading to the Cleansing Chamber Anteroom (what a name!) at Enir-Ilim.

Divine Bird Warrior

Pictured with Euporia, individual pieces of the Divine Bird Warrior armor set have a chance to drop from Divine Bird Warriors. One of the best Divine Bird Warriors to farm is between the Enir-Ilim Outer Wall and First Rise Sites of Grace. Don’t worry, they’re cage-free, organic, non-GMO.

You can loot the Divine Bird Feathers (Incantation) from a corpse near a Divine Bird Warrior at Rauh Ruins near some watermelon-flavored Kindred of Rot.

You receive the Ash of War: Aspects of the Crucible: Wings for defeating Black Knight Eldredd mini-boss at the Fort of Reprimand on Scadu Altus.

Oathseeker

You can loot the Oathseeker Armor Set and Pata (Fists) from a corpse dangling above the initial spawn location in the Shadow Realm. It’s only accessible from behind the Church of Benediction past Prospect Town. Leda’s chestpiece is effectively an altered version of the Oathseeker Armor.

Leda’s Gear

You receive Leda’s Sword (Light Greatsword) after winning the quest NPC brawl in the Cleansing Chamber at Enir-Ilim and can loot Leda’s Armor (chestpiece) from her corpse in the next room.

Rakshasa

You receive the Rakshasa armor set and Great Katana for defeating Rakshasa at the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum along the Recluses’ River.

Rellana’s Gear

You can purchase Rellana’s armor set for 45k runes from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold after defeating her at the (Castle) Ensis Moongazing Grounds on the border between the Gravesite Plain and Scadu Altus.

You can exchange Remembrance of the Twin Moon Knight for either Rellana’s Twin Blades (Light Greatswords) or Rellana’s Twin Moons (Sorcery).

Armor and Greatsword of Solitude

You can alter the Armor of Solitude to remove the cape.

You receive the Armor and Greatsword of Solitude for defeating the Blackgaol Knight at the Western Nameless Mausoleum on the Gravesite Plain.

You can loot the Repeating Crossbow from a corpse at a war camp north of the Fort of Reprimand on Scadu Altus, currently being ravaged by a Ghostflame Dragon.

Crucible Hammer (Devonia)

The Crucible Knight named Devonia near Rauh Ancient Ruins Cross drops the Crucible Hammer-Helm and Devonia’s Hammer.

They wear the Crucible Axe Armor, which you receive for defeating Crucible Knight Ordovis at the end of the Auriza Hero’s Grave beside Lyndell on the Altus Plateau.

Gaius’ Gear

You can purchase Gaius’ Gear (sans pants) for 28k runes from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold after defeating him at Scadview behind Shadow Keep, only accessible via elevator from the upper levels of the Specimen Storehouse through Church District.

You can exchange the Remembrance of the Wild Boar Rider for either the Sword Lance (Heavy Thrusting Spear) + Ash of War: Spinning Gravity Thrust or Blades of Stone (Sorcery).

You receive Gaius’ Greaves for defeating the Albinauric woman riding a Dire Wolf at the Scadutree Chalicefront Albinauric shack beyond the field where you fought Commander Gaius.

Young Lion’s Gear (Consort Radahn)

You can alter the Young Lion’s chestpiece to remove the cape.

You can purchase the Young Lion’s armor set for 56k runes from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold after defeating Consort Radahn and Miquella at the Gate of Divinity in Enir-Ilim. You can exchange Remembrance of a God and a Lord for the Light of Miquella (Incantation) or Greatswords of Radahn (Lord) or (Light).

Verdigris (Moore)

You can loot the Verdigris Armor and Greatshield alonwith Moore’s Bell-Bearing (includes Thiollier’s inventory too) from Moore’s corpse.

You have the opportunity to obtain these items at several locations depending on your decisions related to interactions with Moore throughout Shadow of the Erdtree, including alongside the rest of Needle Knight Leda’s allies at the Cleansing Chamber in Enir-Ilim.

Farming Tips

If you come across an armor set on an enemy and you want to wear it too, you’ll have to take down that enemy over and over again until you get a full set. There are a few things you can do to make the process more efficient.

A big part of speeding up the process is increasing your Discovery stat, which governs the chance that enemies will drop something upon being defeated. Discovery can be increased directly, but it is also increased with your Arcane stat, called Luck in Dark Souls.

You get 1 Point of Discovery for every 1 point of Arcane, though you’ll get more from things that boost Discovery directly unless you respec into a high Arcane build. The way Discovery influences drop rate is too complicated to explain here, but Discovery translates to a percentage boost.

Silver Scarab Talisman

This Talisman directly increases your Discovery stat by 75, so equip it!

The Silver Scarab Talisman can be found in a chest in the Hidden Path to the Haligtree catacombs you are placed into after taking the Lift of Rold down using the Haligtree Secret Medallions.

Silver-Pickled Fowlfoot or Silver Horn Tender

The Silver-Pickled Fowlfoot and Silver Horn Tender each increase your Discovery stat by 50 and 60 respectively for 3 mins, though using one will overwrite the other, so definitely make sure to have only one active while farming.

Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot is craftable once you have obtained Missionary’s Cookbook 3, which is located in the Smoldering Church right on the northern border between Limgrave and Caelid. You can also purchase a few Silver-Pickled Fowl Feet from Gatekeeper Gostoc at Stormveil Castle.

I’m not sure if it’s worthwhile to spend time farming crafting materials once you run out of Silver-Pickled Fowl Feet and its associated materials rather than just spend time on more attempts.

A single item can last long enough for multiple respawns, and the +50 | 60 Discovery increase is huge compared to the rest of the ways to boost your farming efficiency.

Keep in mind that the buff will fall off if you enter a loading screen. You can’t teleport back to a Site of Grace, so you’ll have to run back instead. That plus the farming of the materials can quickly eat up the time you save from possibly less runs overall.

Silver Tear Mask

The Silver Tear Mask is a helmet that increases your Arcane by 8 at the cost of reducing your Physical damage dealt by 5%, roughly equivalent to a lighter Talisman.

You receive the Silver Tear Mask for defeating the Mimic Tear boss at Nokron, Eternal City.

Thiollier’s Garb also increases Arcane by 2.

Marika’s Soreseal and Scarseal

Marika’s Soreseal and Scarseal talismans boost your Arcane and, subsequently, your Discovery, though you can only equip one of them at a time. Marika’s Soreseal isn’t available until very late into the game but boosts your Arcane by 5, while the Scarseal boosts your Arcane by 3.

Marika’s Soreseal is locked in a Stonesword Key room near the Prayer Room in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.

Marika’s Scarseal is located in Nokron, Eternal City, near where you fight the Dragonkin Soldier.

Respeccing and Godrick’s Great Rune

You can respec to reallocate some of your stats to Arcane, though this assumes you have a spare Larval Tear to give to Rennala.

You can also find Larval Tears in the Realm of Shadow at night around glowing turquoise gravestones in select locations, like this one at Rauh Base.

At the very least, you should be able to rely on Godrick’s Great Rune using a Rune Arc to boost each attribute by 5. This will allow you to take off 5 of each stat that you’ve hit your desired threshold on and reapply it with the Great Rune while you move all that excess stat to Arcane.

Remember, if you use Marika’s Soreseal | Scarseal, you can take off an additional 5 | 3 of Intelligence or Faith. Don’t forget to use Rune Arcs too!
