Star Wars Outlaws is just around the corner. These PC System Requirements will give you an idea on how your PC is going to perform.
Official PC System Requirements
The game is going to be pretty demanding for your PC hardware. These are the official PC Requirements for Minimum, Recommended, High, and Ultra settings:

SSD | 65GB |
Ultra Settings Requirements
Preset: | 4K | 60 FPS | Ultra preset with upscaler set to quality |
---|---|

I find the inclusion of a “Recommended” tier weird and especially below the “High” tier recommendations. The only difference in the in-game preset the developers recommend is the resolution.
The “recommended” one is 1080p, while the “high” setup recommends 1040p. For this, they demand that you jump up a generation with both the CPU and GPU.
Tweaks to consider
This segment will give you a few basic tips for improving and tweaking your game to make sure it performs well and uses your hardware to its best potential.
Please note that we are still working on our dedicated comprehensive guide to the game’s Graphican and other Settings you should tweak. Check back later for it on the Star Wars Outlaws page.
Consider which drivers you will use
GPU manufacturers often release drivers a few days before the release of a big game and Star Wars Outlaws is no exception. Games coming out with performance issues is something that has sadly become more and more common with modern games. Because of this, it’s very hard to know if the new drivers will improve the experience or make it worse.
You can either wait to play the game with current drivers and decide if downloading the new ones is worth it depending on the performance of your PC. Keep in mind that additional drivers could be released a few days after launch day.
All of us on the VULKK Team happen to play and cover the game on Nvidia GPUs and our analysis in the upcoming guide will be based only on our own experience and tests.
The latest (as of the date of this publication) driver is from August 20th. Its version is 560.94 and this is the Game Ready Driver from Team Green that is expected to be tweaked specifically for the release of Star Wars Outlaws.
We will wait for the Day 1 patch before we share any detailed results and recommendations, just in case.
Nvidia App optimization for games
The Nvidia App has a feature that allows you to “optimize” the performance of games. However, this has not been the case in my own experience. It has helped in a few games, but it only makes everything worse in many others.
Try playing Star Wars Outlaws with this feature ON and OFF to see which way is best for your gaming experience. If it’s not working simply click the REVERT option.
Use custom settings
The game will choose the settings automatically depending on your hardware. This is certainly convenient for anyone who doesn’t like tweaking stuff but we can’t deny that sometimes the default settings are not the most optimal.
It’s also a matter of personal preference. Some players value the visual aspect over FPS, others prefer smooth gameplay at the expense of impressive visuals and a different group likes to have a balance of both.
I can’t recommend a specific setting because every configuration (RAM speed, GPU, CPU, and resolution) is different but you should at least give it a try. If it doesn’t work you can always return to the default settings with a single click.
