This guide will show you how to unlock and complete the quest The Mechanic in Star Wars Outlaws and unlock Selo, The Mechanic, as an Expert so Kay can start learning new abilities and tricks to use with her speeder.

How to unlock The Mechanic Quest

After completing the main quest New Tricks for Danka, she will give you two Intel quests. One for The Slicer and one for The Speeder Mechanic.

Talk to the Aqualish waitress behind the bar at Jaunta’s Hope, she’ll send you to find answers at Kadùa Village.

Talk to the Bartender at Jaunta's Hope

Once you reach the village, talk to the people repairing the skyfishing nets. They’ll tell you where you can find the mechanic.

You’ll find the location for Selo’s Shop after talking to the skyfisher, it’ll be a bit northeast of Jaunta’s Hope. Make your way to the shop and you’ll find Selo.

After talking to Selo, you will copmplete the Intel quest The Speeder Mechanic and receive a new quest called The Mechanic. This is the one that unlocks Selo as an Expert after you complete it.

The Mechanic Quest Walkthrough

Before Selo upgrades your speeder, she’ll need something from you first. She needs you to get an Atmospheric Accelerator from the Empire. She’ll give you some Magnetic Disruptors and coordinates for the Imperial base.

Reach the location, place the Magnetic Disruptors on a power panel that’ll turn off a nearby turbine, then go inside the turbine while riding your speeder.

You’ll go through some caves and reach an Imperial compound. Look for the ray shields and send Nix to turn off the shields. Crawl into the vent on the right then up the ladder, it’s now time for some platforming.

Climb onto the large pipes and go forward. You’ll see some large fans on the wall that can push you off. Only move forward when the fans are off.

The first area you find fans in is far more safe than the areas that are ahead. Each fan you’ll find has small, white lights around them. They’ll light up when they’re charging up to activate.

You’ll run into a couple of fans that won’t stop blowing. Look for the power conduit across the gap and shoot it with the Ion blaster to deactivate the fans. Jump to the walkway across the gap.

On your right, slightly above a closed door, you’ll find a metal handle you can jump onto. Grab onto it then climb up to the grates, you’ll need to go across the grates and onto the fan, then down into a broken pipe.

Go through the pipe until you reach a large room. There are heat sinks that pop out of the walls, these will be hazards from here on out.

You can wait for them to retract to pass, or shimmy along the ledge to ignore them entirely. Climb up the grates, jump left then up onto the fans, then jump left onto the platform.

You’ll encounter an extremely large fan, shoot the two power conduits to shut it off. There will be a grapple point above you, hook onto that and swing across.

Jump to a metal handle then continue climbing upwards until you reach some metal bars above the grates. Use those bars to shimmy to the left and you’ll be on a platform with more heat sinks.

Go past the heat sinks and climb up a grate to get higher up. You’ll now need to jump across the heat sinks when they pop out and make your way across the fan, up some bars, and into a vent.

Be quick about jumping across the heat sinks. If you’re too slow, another set of heat sinks above the ones you’re on will pop out and can push you off.

Crawl through the vents and you’ll end up in a control room. Use the terminal to extract the Atmospheric Accelerator.

Go out the door and use the grapple points to reach the lower platforms, then go into the turbine. Don’t try to jump from one grapple point to another, just use the platforms.

When you get into the entrance, you can summon your speeder and ride your way out of the facility. Return to Selo to unlock the Speed Boost ability for your speeder.

Now that you have completed The Mechanic quest for Selo, you have unlocked her as your Expert and can learn new abilities and tricks to perform with your speeder.
