This guide will show you how to unlock and complete The Money Drop syndicate quest in Star Wars Outlaws, including the outcomes and consequences of the final decision to lie to Surat or tell him the truth.
How to unlock The Money Drop quest
To unlock The Money Drop quest, you must finish The Droidsmith quest. If you have done that, you will receive a message from ND-5 to meet with Surat Nuat in his office at the Alcazar in Akiva.
Surat Nuat tells you that the Fathier table is losing money, which is not supposed to happen. If there is a scam happening then he wants in on it.
Fathier races are track races that involve Fathiers. The Fathiers are land animals that can reach speeds up to 75 kilometers per hour or 50 miles per hour and are often used in competitions.
For this walkthrough, you should rely on your Good or higher reputation of the Syndicate Factions. While it’s possible to sneak through the Pyke Crystal Mine, getting your reputation up to Good, is not too hard nor time-consuming.
Please check our guide: Star Wars Outlaws Syndicates Reputation System: Everything you need to know, to learn how to quickly improve your reputation. You can check out our Akiva Pyke Vault walkthrough to see a viable way for sneaking around the area.
Investigate the Fathier table
The first step is to pay a visit to the Fathier table at the Alcazar. to find out who won big recently.
To get people to talk, you may need to lay down a bet yourself. To place a bet you will need to click the console.
The bet you can put in ranges from 5 credits to 25 credits and 50 credits. The payouts are good. For 5 credits, you will receive 41 credits. For 25 credits, you will receive 202 and for 50 credits, you will receive 401 credits.
To further investigate , you have to talk to the gamblers at the table after the match. One of them, simply known as Gambler, will tell you that a gambler named Weirla took home all the earnings and that you can find her at the repair shop in Akiva.
You can find the repair shop near the Myrra Spaceport and it is right outside of the Alcazar.
Entering Pyke Territory in Myrra
Your talk with the Merchant near the repair shop is fruitful. The Merchant gives you a bit of background information about Weirla.
He tells Kay that Weirla is loaded but still on Akiva but also that she is indebted to the repair shop for the machine that she asked them to build.
The Merchant then tells you that she often goes to the Pyke district to hand off her earnings. Weirla is a money runner for the Pyke Syndicate.
With that information, it is time to head to the Market District. If you are in good standing with the Pyke Syndicate then you can just enter without any hassle. If you are not then you will need to go to the left and climb a gate and find a way in.
In the Pyke District, go to the Pyke Sabacc parlor and listen to the conversation that Weirla has with someone unknown. She tells the person that she can’t give any of the money and that she needs to go.
Notice the datapad that she has in her right hand. That is the item you want. Follow Weirla outside and have Nix steal it from her.
The datapad contains the message that Weirla has to bring the money to the drop-off point. It is a little farm up north at a small farm right over the bridge.
The conversation with Surat that follows is an update about the current investigation. Kay tells Surat that Weirla is just a small part of a bigger scheme.
Find Weirla at Myrra Valley
The only way to get to Weirla is by a speeder. Weirla is in Myrra Valley to meet her contact for the drop-off.
The drop-off point is a restricted area no matter your reputation with the Pyke Syndicate so tread lightly. You are there to gather information and not get shot.
There is a cutscene that shows Weirla with her contact to talk money and to make sure that she isn’t followed. At the end of the cutscene, Weirla follows her contact into a house. You will have to stealth and take down the one guard on the hill.
At the house, follow the conversation between Weirla and her contact. The contact knows that Surat has become aware of the scam the Pykes are running. The contact blames Weirla for not being careful enough. The conversation ends with a blaster shot ending the life of Weirla.
Surat asks for another update and Kay tells him that the Pykes are fixing the races. Kay tells Surat that she will further investigate at the Pyke Camp in Storm Hollow.
The Pyke Camp in Storm Hollow
The Pyke Camp in Storm Hollow can be reached either by speeder or by flying the Trailblazer on the landing pad if you have been there before and are in good standing with the Pyke Syndicate.
Once you arrive, you will have to search the area. The datapad is located at on landing pad. Upon entry by foot, you can find the datapad to the left, on top of some pallets.
The datapad contains information about the next winner of the Fathier race. Once you have the datapad, head back to The Alcazar.
The quest asks to test the information to see if it is valid so head to the Fathier table and bet on the winner using the hints from the datapad. The race will be won and thus the information on the datapad was correct.
From here on out, you will find datapads with the winners because the jockeys have been bribed by a Canto official. You can use the hints on the datapads to maximize your winnings at the Fathier table.
Side with the Pykes or the Hutts: Should you tell Surat the truth
It is time to report to Surat and inform him of the scheme. On the way to the office, you will encounter a Pyke who tells you that Syndicate knows that you have been snooping around. He offers you a bribe.
You get the moral option to either tell the truth to Surat and honor your agreement or lie to Surat and take the Pyke Syndicate bribe.
- If you go for The Hutts and tell Surat the truth about the Pyke Syndicate, you will get a large amount of reputation points and 1000 credits. You will lose a significant amount of reputation with the Pykes.
- If you lie to Surat and take the Pyke Syndicate’s side, then you will receive 2000 credits and reputation points. You will lose an immense amount of reputation with the Hutts.
The choice here is less about the money and mostly about reputation. If you are at a low rank with either of those, not siding with this faction at this point may result in you dropping too low so that they may even start hunting you.
If you are at max rep with, choosing the opposite side, will drop you directly into the Good tier. The opposite is also true. If you are in the middle of the Good tier, siding with that faction will bring you into the Excellent tier.
