This walkthrough will show you when and how to pick up the Jabba’s Gambit quest in Star Wars Outlaws, and how to complete it, as well as the different choices and consequences you can make during the quest, including what to do with the schematics you find.
How to start Jabba’s Gambit quest
The quest Jabba’s Gambit in Star Wars Outlaws is exclusively available only if you have purchased the Star Wars Outlaws Season Pass. The Season Pass grants you access to two upcoming Story DLCs. It also gives you instant access now to the quest Jabba’s Gambit.
Although the quest is advertised as “available at launch”, it is a mid- to late game quest. You can obtain it only after you have completed the main story quest Jabba’s Favor on Tatooine.
After you complete this, the side quest Jabba’s Gambit will show up in your Quests log. You can do it whenever you want. It is not directly tied to the main story of the game, nor does it affect its ending.
It’s not mandatory, but if you have Good or Excellent reputation with the Pykes and Hutts, you will be able to freely walk around their territory on Toshara and Tatooine as well as use Fast Travel to quickly move through the map when the quest allows Fast Travel.
Video Walkthrough
The video walkthrough below will show you all all possible outcomes and the different cinematics and dialogues that occur if you make a different decision.
Jabba’s Gambit Quest Walkthrough
Go to Jaunta’s Hope on Toshara. Behind the cantina, there will be a rodian who wishes to speak with you. This is Jabba’s contact.
Talk to him. From the next conversation with Jabba himself via a holo, you will learn that ND-5 has a depth to pay to the mighty Hutt and it’s up to you to do it.
Jabba is looking to muscle in the Hutts on Toshara and needs to put the local governor under his control. To do that, he wants you to obtain some valuable data, which will allow him to blackmail Governor Thorden.
Investigate the site
The location ND-5 gives you is in the northwestern corner of The Mirage region on Toshara. You will investigate a site where some fighting has happened not too long ago.
You will investigate four items in this area, looking for the datapad. The four items you have to investigate are:
- Blaster marks on the wall next to the door
- Crashed speeder bike
- Broken Landspeeder
- An empty satchel on side of the skiff
Defeat the Pykes
While you are investigating the fourth item, ND-5 will warn you: “we got company”. Some Pyke members have tracked you down. Watch the cinematic and engage in combat to take them all out.
The two standing on the other side of the river are snipers. Use Ion mode for your blaster to take out the droid quickly. A couple more bikers will arrive on the other side of the river shortly after combat breaks out.
After the fight is done, Nix will pick up a lead. Let the litle buddy take you up the hill where ND-5 will warn you about an incoming attack.
Tak ND-5’s advice and go around the rocks to come from behind the attackers and take care of them quickly and efficiently while ND-5 provides covering fire from the front.
After the fight, on the small hill, next to the speeder bike, you will find the next clue – a recording.
The recording you just heard, gives you the next location you have to visit on Toshara. It’s behind the hill southeast of you, inside the Pyke area in The Mirage.
Steal the datapad
When you arrive at the location, you will see Pykes attacking Crimson Dawn. You can sneak in and steal the datapad while they are busy fighting each other. Or you can opt to clear them all out and clean out the loot in the area.
The blackmail data is sitting comfortable on a small table that looks like a pedestal in the middle of the camp. If you attack the two parties, you are not risking losing reputation with either faction because they don’t have a way to tell anyone else about your incursion.
Reach the Trailblazer
ND-5 has brought the Trailblazer at the landing pad in Myrogana. You can’t fast travel at the moment. While you are on your way to it, you will be chased by Pyke bikers. Just rush for the bridge leading into Myrogana. There’s no point stopping or shooting at the chasers.
Choice in Space: Gun it or Stand down
As soon as you find yourself into Toshara’s Orbit, Imperials will show up and request to perform a “routing inspection”. You have a choice to “gun it” or “wait”stand down”. ND-5 recommends you to wait for your moment. This is the first of two choices you can make during the Jabba’s Gambit quest.
If you choose to “gun it”, you will become “Wanted” immediately. The Wanted system works the same way in space as it does on the ground. For the purposes of the quest, you can just run away and go to Tatooine.
Calibrate the Hyperdrive for Tatooine Orbit and leave the Imperials behind. As soon as you arrive on Tatooine, you will see a message that they are abandoning the search.
If you choose to “stand down”, you will see Hutt ships arriving and starting a fight with the Imperials. You can now spool the hyperdrive and head for Tatooine.
If you listen to ND-5’s recommendation, you will not get a Wanted status. But it doesn’t have any impact on you anyway. Your goal is to get to Tatooine’s orbit anyway and however you choose to do it, there will be no other consequences later on.
Should you tell Give the Schematics to Jabba
After you land on Tatooine, you should head for Jabba’s Palace. If you have Fast Travel and are in Good standings with the Hutts, use it. If not, you must ride the bike up north from Mos Eisley. Talk to the droid at the main entrance of the Palace.
During the conversation with Jabba, he will ask you what else you found. You will be prompted to tell him the truth about the Schematics you took along with the data on Toshara. Or you can try to hide it.
If you decide to “Give Jabba the schematics”, you will lost this valuable item. Jabba will let you off with a “warning”.
If you decide to “Keep the schematics”, Jabba will tell you that he knew about them and was testing you. He will warn you that you now owe him a debt.
When you exit the palace, if you had given the schematics, ND-5 will approve of your actions. It you kept them for yourself, he will not be happy, but you will have a valuable item sitting in your inventory that you can sell to any merchant for 1500 credits.
You do not win or lose Reputation with any of the factions involved in the quest Jabba’s Gambit, regardless of the choices you have made while playing through it.
At this point in the game, there are no consequences for your actions during the Jabba’s Gambit quest. If you opted to keep the schematics, Jabba warns you that you owe him a debt, but it is not brought up at any point in the game after that.
It is possible that this decision may affect parts of the upcoming DLC stories. The quest Jabba’s Gambit is exclusively unlocked only if you purchased the Season Pass, so it makes sense that this could be a set up for the next story or stories Massive are currently working on for Star Wars Outlaws.
