Should you betray the Hutts for Credits or Finish the Job: Star Wars Outlaws Convoy Quest Walkthrough

Siow by Siow|

This guide will show you how to complete the Star Wars Outlaws side quest, Convoy. Bib Fortuna needs Kay to escort a Hutt convoy to Toshara and protect the shipment from the Pyke Syndicate.

How to get the Convoy Side Quest

Convoy becomes available after completing the story quest, Jabba’s Favor. This will appear as a Hutt Cartel Opportunity where you’ll need to meet up with Bib Fortuna in Bestine on Tatooine.

Bib Fortuna needs you to escort a Hutt convoy that has been disappearing during their Toshara runs. To make sure the convoy gets to their destination, Kay needs to protect them from any hostile ships.

You can gain the option to demand for more credits or take the job. Demanding more credits requires the Excellent reputation rank with the Hutts and grants 250 credits up front.

I recommend getting the Cluster Missile upgrade for the Trailblazer for this quest. It’ll make short work of the enemy fighters to come.

Video Walkthrough

The video below walks you through the entire quest step-by-step. It shows you the two different choices and follow-up story development based on your decision as well as what you win and lose in either case after you complete the quest.

Escorting the Convoy

Return to the Trailblazer and take off into Tatooine’s orbit. Follow your quest marker to the two Hutt freighters and fight off the Pyke fighters attacking them.

You must not let the ships get destroyed and more waves of Pyke fighters will keep coming in. Defeat as many Pyke ships as you can until both ships make the jump to Tatooine.

Once the Hutts jump to Tatooine, pick up any loot from defeated ships and set your course to Tatooine. Be sure to use your ship’s scanners to not miss any dropped materials.

When you jump to Tatooine, Gorak of the Pyke Syndicate will call you and offer to pay you for the Hutt shipment of silicax crystals.

Should you Betray the Hutts for Credits or Finish the Job

This is a rather tough choice as choosing to betray the Hutts will cost a lot of reputation. On the other hand, you can make a LOT of credits.

Betraying the Hutts for Credits

If you choose to betray the Hutts, you’ll need to blow up the two freighters, pick up their cargo, and land on Toshara to meet up with Gorak.

Betraying the Hutts is the shorter and far more profitable choice for this quest. Gorak will give you 3,000 credits, so you can gain up to 3,250 credits if you ask for more pay from the Hutts and then betray them.

You will lose an immense amount of reputation with the Hutts if you do this. You could go from Excellent to Poor standing with the Hutts should you choose to betray them. At least you’ll gain a large amount of reputation with the Pykes (and all those credits).

Betraying the Hutts is the far superior choice in this scenario. You can always regain reputation with the Hutts through contracts later, but 3,000 credits is 3,000 credits.

Finishing the Job

If you choose to honor your deal and finish the job, you’ll need to escort the freighters and defend them from Pykes and Imperials until they reach Toshara.

Yes, it’s one of those missions. Where you’re either too fast or too slow compared to your escort, and they’re going too slow. You’ll shoot down a few waves of enemy fighters before you’re complete.

If you enjoy blowing up starfighters and want to get on the Hutt’s good side, this is the choice to make. You’ll gain a large amount of reputation with the Hutts, earn 1,000 credits, but lose a large amount of reputation with the Pykes.
