There are 17 Blaster Coatings you can use to customize Kay’s VM-19 Blaster Pistol in Star Wars Outlaws. We’ll show you what all of the Blaster Coatings look like and where to find them!

What are Blaster Coatings

Blaster Coatings are items that allow you to change the appearance of Kay’s VM-19 Blaster Pistol. They alter the colors and some of the materials, like the grip, barrel, and spring.

Unfortunately, the Blaster Coatings are really just different skins. there’s no way to change the change the model, bolt color, or wear state of the blaster, it’s always Kay’s VM-19. The customization system is far more limited than Jedi Survivor’s lightsaber components system.

You can get Blaster Coatings as loot from chests, quest rewards, or by achieving Good reputation with each syndicate.

Base VM-19 Appearance

The base appearance from the VM-19 features brown wooden grip, shiny silver barrel, and copper spring. It matches most of the outfits you get in the early game, but looks good with just about everything.

Kay receives the VM-19 as a teenager before the events of the game. Left with Bram, the Bartender, from her mother, Riko.

Boonta Brawler Coating

The Boonta Brawler Coating has a white base primer with the chamber painted purple and orange splattering on the grip and trigger. The spring is gold. It matches the Boonta Brawler Outfit.

You receive the Boonta Brawler Coating for achieving Good reputation with the Hutt Cartel for the first time.

Hutt Cartel

Carmine Coating

The Carmine Coating features a deep red (carmine) barrel and chamber, black textured rubber grip, and copper spring. It looks exquisite with the Daivak Gunslinger and Outlaw Outfits.

You can loot the Carmine Blaster Coating from a chest at some ruins along the river leading to Kassina Outpost on Akiva. The river demarcates the border between Mount Selasa and Karaba Foothills. You’ll need to unlock the Hydrorepulsor to access this location.

Crimson Reign Coating

The Crimson Reign Coating is plated black with gold accents and matches the Crimson Reign outfit.

You receive the Crimson Reign Coating for achieving Good reputation with Crimson Dawn for the first time.

Crimson Dawn

Hermit Coating

The Hermit Coating is the closest you’ll get to an all-black blaster in this game, though it has tasteful silver bits that help to accentuate the black. It matches a lot of sets but goes particularly well with the Moldour Thief outfit.

You receive the Hermit Coating for locating the undercover Crimson Dawn agent at the Alcazar in Myrra on Akiva. It’s part of the Stowaway mission where you must help Jinnjo get a new job on Akiva.

Hunter’s Legacy Coating

The Hunter’s Legacy Blaster Coating is included in the Hunter’s Legacy cosmetic bundle, which you can purchase separately or receive as part of the Season Pass.

Imperial Coating

The Imperial Coating features off-white scuffed base, brown leather grip, and silver accents.

You can’t see the scuffs when you’re using it unless you have the graphics settings cranked on a 4K monitor, but it still doesn’t match the ISB white from the Imperial Disguise and would absolutely not pass a routine inspection.

You receive the Imperial Coating for achieving Good reputation with the Pyke Syndicate for the first time. Gorak probably fished it out of a dumpster for you.

Pyke Syndicate

Iridescence Coating

The Iridescence Coating features a pale gold barrel and chamber, periwinkle grip, and silver accents. It looks great with the Disruptor outfit.

You receive the Iridescence Coating for defeating Lando Calrissian at Sabacc in Myrra on Akiva after unlocking him as the High Roller Expert.

Kijimi Explorer Coating

The Kijimi Explorer Coating is meant to look like an emergency flare gun, combining a white base with orange markings and grip. The spring is also covered to protect it from the elements. It matches all of the cold weather Survivalist outfits.

You receive the Kijimi Explorer Coating for achieving Good reputation with the Ashiga Clan for the first time.

The Ashiga Clan

Onyx Coating

The Onyx Coating combines a black (onyx) muzzle and grip with a lackluster gold barrel and chamber. It matches the Begamor Ruffian outfit.

You can loot the Onyx Coating from the chest inside the Imperial Vault at Research Station 57 on Akiva.

Outlander Coating

The Outlander Coating features a gunmetal-colored body, silver and gold accents, and a brown grip that really pops. The grip material is the most outlandish part about it, as it behaves unfamiliarly with light. It matches the Toshara Ruffian and Agamar Gunslinger outfits.

You can loot the Outlander Coating from a chest in the control room at the top of the Imperial Comm Station at the northwest edge of Toshara.

Palace Guard Coating

The Palace Guard Coating features purple decorative elements on the blaster’s grip. The barrel and chamber are painted in shiny silver with elegant markings on both ends.

The Palace Guard Coating is included in the Naboo Nobility Bundle, which you can get as part of the Season Pass or purchase separately.

Patina Coating

The Patina Coating gets its name from the scuffed brown leather paintjob on the barrel and chamber. The grip is that dark blue-gray gunmetal color, the same as you’d find on the Outlander Coating, while the accents are matte black or silver. It matches the base Thief outfits.

You receive the Patina Coating after finding a Tatooinian lady’s lost bantha at a house in the Desert Valley on the main road connecting Bestine to Mos Eisley. You’re looking for a bantha with a saddle on it mingling with a herd of wild banthas.

The paw print shows where you should find the bantha. Bump into it with your speeder to get it to move back towards its owner. You’ll see it head straight for her.

Rogue Coating

The Rogue Coating answers the question “what colors would a rotten blaster be?”. The answer is a combination of a coconut brown grip, coconut green accents, and silver barrel and chamber, all scuffed and scratched. The Rogue Coating matches the Ryloth Ruffian and Abelor Survivalist outfits.

You can loot the Rogue Coating from the chest in the Imperial Vault at Fort Sunfire on Tatooine.

Sabacc Shark Coating

The Sabacc Shark coating is the most distinct and detailed variant of the VM-19 designed to accentuate the rest of the Sabacc Shark lifestyle.

The grip is a marble or perhaps porcelain blue, while the rest of the blaster looks like different shades of silver, though the seemingly different colors are likely due to how the light interacts with the different etched textures.

The spring has a diamond stitched cover while the barrel and chamber have a carved floral pattern that would likely require expensive machining to produce. It’s more reminiscent of something you’d find on a piece of wood than a metal cylinder.

The Sabacc Shark Coating is one of the items you receive for purchasing the Ultimate Edition of Star Wars Outlaws.

Sage Coating

The Sage Coating is what you get when a Dementor comes along (through a franchise-hopping portal) and sucks the soul out of the Sabacc Shark Coating. It’s baby blue with silver accents. Still, it’s a great match for the Tatooine Gunslinger outfit.

You receive the Sage Coating as your reward for completing the Ashiga Crackdown mission on Kijimi. The questgiver is a lady standing on the corner of Kijimiko Square.

Sentinel Coating

The Sentinel Coating looks like something a Pyke made in art class when they were forced to keep their helmet on and color it in with crayon.

I know it was a Pyke because the artist used the same dark green and blue colors as the syndicate of the same name. It matches the Akiva Thief outfit.

You can loot the Sentinel Coating from the Imperial Vault at the Imperial Forward Base on the eastern edge of Toshara.
