Ubisoft revealed the release date for the next story pack for Star Wars Outlaws. The Wild Card DLC is coming November 21st. And the game will become available on Steam on the same day!
Release Date for Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card DLC
The most exciting news with the Star Wars Outlaws’ message is that we now know that Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card is coming November 21, 2024.
This story pack will focus on Kay and Nix sneaking their way into a Sabacc tournament where they’ll need to play against Lando Calrissian. Now would be a good time to collect all the Sabacc Shift Tokens if you haven’t already.
It is not currently known how much content the Wild Card story pack will provide or how much depth it will have. Hopefully it’s more than simply playing Sabacc and something more in-depth that involves sneaking, combat, and making choices that actually matter.
New Contracts will also be added to Star Wars Outlaws for all players, but the Outlaws team did not specify if these are new contract types, side quests, or something else.
Star Wars Outlaws coming to Steam
Wild Card isn’t the only thing arriving on November 21, 2024. We also learned that Star Wars Outlaws will be made available on Steam on that same day as well!
With Steam’s reputation for sales, we might find Outlaws on sale for a good deal through Steam. Though like other games made by developers with their own app, it wouldn’t be surprising if you still have to download the Ubisoft Connect app to play.
Promises of Polishing and Adjustment
If you’ve played any amount of Star Wars Outlaws, then you’ll know about the various bugs. From black squares on the ground, textures not loading, being seen through walls, there’s a lot of room for improvement.
In their latest message, the Outlaws team says they’re working to create multiple updates that will optimize the game, apply quality-of-life updates, and adjust the combat and stealth gameplay.
Considering this is Ubisoft, take this with several grains of salt. With the most recent update, Update 1.1.2, the patch notes claimed it resolved stability issues, graphical issues, and other improvements.
Despite this, these very issues are still very much present and can be quite annoying. This is particularly annoying if you’re writing a guide and the textures bug out when you need to take a picture, forcing you to relaunch the game to fix them.
Here is the full statement made by the Star Wars Outlaws team on social media:
“Outlaws, you’ve been roaming the Outer Rim for almost a month now, and we want to thank you again for your support! Your feedback is invaluable in helping us prioritize the improvements and changes we will make to the game.
We’re hard at work creating multiple title updates, which will bring optimization, gameplay polishing and tweaks as well as quality of life changes including adjustments to combat and stealth gameplay.
That’s not all — our very first story pack, Star Wars™ Outlaws: Wild Card, will also launch on November 21st and will see Kay and Nix infiltrate a high-stakes Sabacc tournament where they face off against the legendary Lando Calrissian. In addition, new contracts will be added free for all players.
For our PC players, we’re also thrilled to announce that the game will be available on Steam starting November 21st.
Thank you for being part of the journey and stay tune for more updates soon!”
The Star Wars Outlaws Team
I really hope they stabilize the game. Star Wars Outlaws crashed on me twice when I tried to fast travel to Akiva to get a picture of Lando for the banner image of this article.
