A healthy mix of cool easter eggs, interesting references, funny appearances, interactions, secrets, and little-known facts about Star Wars Outlaws
Easter eggs and references are some of the most fun things to look for in a Star Wars game, series, or movie. With so many stories, characters, and places it’s very satisfying to find stuff connected to multiple events or characters. Here are some very cool easter eggs, references, and interactions found in Star Wars Outlaws.
The article contains spoilers for locations, quests and activities from Star Wars Outlaws as well as other movies, TV Series and Books!
Han Solo
Since Star Wars Outlaws happens between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, our favorite smuggler is still frozen in carbonite inside Jabba’s Palace. To be able to see him you just need to progress through the main story.
Boba Fett
The galaxy’s deadliest bounty hunter might not be a part of the story but you can actually find Boba Fett inside Jabba’s Palace. Specifically when infiltrating the palace through the vents during the main quest Partners.
You can see him watching a bounty puck of Asara, the Rebel Alliance member that Kay rescued in the first heist.
A conversation about Obi-Wan
Two people in Bestine on Tatooine are talking about not seeing the old hermit with strange powers who lives in the desert. They are obviously referring to Obi-Wan.
Since Star Wars Outlaws takes place after Empire Strikes Back these two people will never know why Obi-Wan never returned to his hut in the desert.
Docking Bay 94
Docking Bay 94, the hangar where the Trailblazer is docked on Mos Eisley is the same one where Han kept the Millennium Falcon in A New Hope before accepting the job to take Luke and Obi-Wan to Alderaan.
Teeka
Teeka, the Hotfixer expert is a Jawa who previously appeared in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. She steals Kenobi’s the T-16 Skyhopper toy that he gives to Luke in the final episode but not before stealing and reselling him back his own parts.
Lars Homestead
We just had to get Lars Homestead, also known as Luke’s home in Star Wars Outlaws. And we did! Sadly, there isn’t any type of quest or puzzle involved but at least we get to see an iconic location from the original trilogy. You can find it south of the Great Chott Salt Flat.
The treasure chest inside the Lars Homestead contains a Gray Scarf for Nix to wear. From a distance, the fabric is a bit reminiscent of Jedi robes.
Tosche Station
The place where Luke was going to pick up some power converters is never shown in A New Hope. This is because the scene was deleted from the film before the release. However, it was later released in a special edition Blu-ray.
You can find Tosche Station following the path south of the Great Chott Salt Flat, northeast of Lars Homestead.
The Cursed booth at Chalmun’s Cantina
When going to Chalmun’s Cantina, you can look for the booth where Han Solo infamously shot Greedo. You can see a Rodian and a Twi’lek discussing the “curse” that surrounds these seats.
The dialogue goes like this: “This isn’t a supersition! Everyone who sits in that booth gets shot. You want that to be your final resting place, be my guest.”
We don’t serve their kind here
Speaking of Chalmun’s Cantina, you can find a datapad near the bar. It seems that even after some years the policy to not serve droids remains unchanged. The owner makes the message he left very clear.
Sebulba’s Podracer
You can spot Sebulba’s Podracer in Bram’s bar, on Canto Bight. Podracing could be considered something niche inside the vast universe that is Star Wars but it’s still very cool to this twenty-five years after we saw the Boonta’s Eve race for the first time.
Sabine Wren-like outfit
The Boonta Brawler ouitfit and additional cosmetics appear to be a clear reference to Sabine Wren. The outfit have a chest plate that looks exactly like what Mandalorians use.
The pink and orange accents are so prominent not only in Sabine’s armor from Star Wars Rebels but also in a lot of her artwork that is shown multiple times in both Rebels and Ahsoka.
Space Worm
Hidden inside Kijimi’s nebula there’s a massive creature that we believe to be some species of space worms. While there isn’t a quest or even a small interaction related to it, it’s still a very impressive and intimidating sight.
Play Dead
Rats are irrelevant to the gameplay and story of Star Wars Outlaws but that doesn’t mean that they can’t provide some sort of entertainment.
After you enter a closed area like a storage room, one or two of the nearby rats will play dead for a few seconds. After realizing that you’re not going to hurt them they will just continue like nothing happened.
Kay’s death mark
After completing the first main quest on Canto, Sliro places an astronomical bounty on Kay’s head. The sum is never said explicitly but it’s so high that everyone calls it a death mark.
The actual sum is 400,000 credits. You can find this wanted poster on the main entrance of Mos Eisley next to the Imperial checkpoint (and in several other locations).
Strangely, these billboards aren’t updated after you finish the main story.
Akiva’s first appearance
The jungle planet of Akiva and Surat Nuat, the local gangster, were first introduced in the book Aftermath. This book explains in more detail how he murdered his own parents and turned his brother into a piece of decoration.
Eadu Imperial Outpost
The Imperial Kassina Outpost on Akiva looks very similar to the Imperial installation on Eadu, the planet where Galen Erso was stationed before being attacked by the Rebel Alliance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Sweeper Droid Party
You can find some Sweeper Droids having a party in the western part of Mirogana, on Toshara.
South of Makal’s Gambling Parlor to be precise. You just have to pass through a narrow space and then crawl through a vent.
There’s a chest inside that contains a Sweeper Droid Trophy for your speeder.
High Republic logs
During The Wreck quest, Kay enters a ship from the High Republic era. This ship has some very interesting logs that mention some key events from hundreds of years before Star Wars Outlaws.
The first one mentions an attack by Nihil ships. The Nihil were vicious marauders led by Marchion Ro. With the knowledge of strange technology and the ability to control Force-eating creatures, the Nihil were very close to defeating and changing the Galactic Republic as we know it.
The other log talks about the Starlight Beacon, a massive space station that orbited the Outer Rim with the purpose of serving as the base of operations for the Republic’s expanding effort. This station was attacked and destroyed by the Nihil, killing many Jedi in the process and shattering the Republic’s symbol of hope.
Crimson Reign
Early in the story, Kay is told by Jaylen that Qi’ra, the leader of Crimson Dawn, put all the criminal syndicates against each other. In this story, Emperor Palpatine had to intervene directly before everything got out of control. This is part of the Crimson Reign comics series.
This is also where Zerek Besh was first introduced. Obviously, Sliro’s criminal organization wasn’t fully developed at that time so they are only mentioned briefly.
One Hutt to rule them all
During Kay’s adventures on Tatooine, ND-5 reminds her that Jabba never forgets and that’s the reason why he’s the only Hutt left in charge. This isn’t completely true.
While brutality and respect are two traits required to lead an organization like the Hutt Cartel, the main reason why only Jabba is left is because Darth Vader executed all the other members of the Hutt Council during the war between syndicates.
Sixth Kin
The Sixth Kin, Canto Bight’s criminal group was created for the Dr. Aphra comics. They might not be as important or powerful as other syndicates but it’s still cool to see them involved in this game, even if it’s just a short appearance.
Temmin Wexley
Temmin Wexley is the Scavenger Expert you can find on Akiva. He might look like just a normal forgettable character but this young man will eventually join the Rebel Alliance and eventually the Resistance. He participated in both the Battle of Jakku and the Battle of Exegol. According to Poe Dameron, he is the best wingman he ever had.
