How to complete The Game quest in the Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card story pack. Kay boards the Morenia to join the Sabacc tournament. Find all the intel, loot, and objectives you need here!

How to get The Game Quest

You will be able to start The Game quest after you complete the Wild Card and The High Roller quests. Once you have completed these, you’ll be able to make a hyperspace jump to the Anoat Sector.

The Trailblazer aboutto jump to the Anoat Sector

There’s no need to rush into this, you can take the time to upgrade your Sabacc “skills” through the Magnetic Dice ability from the Hotfixer Expert.

Once you’re ready, jump to the Anoat Sector, reach the beacon in front of you and a cutscene will start. Once the cutscene is over, you’ll be aboard the Morenia.

Exploring the Morenia

After speaking to the sullustan concierge, you’ll be able to explore the Morenia. You’ll be given a cabin which you can visit. You’ll learn what you can do in there later on.

For now, go to the front of the ship and talk to the Weequay bouncer guarding the elevator that Lando went up.

You’ll need an invitation to enter the tournament, meaning you’ll have to take someone else’s. Talk to ND-5 at the bar to form a plan on acquiring the Player List.

Below is a map with added custom icons we made to point out anything of interest related to the quest. Unmarked treasure chests contain generic loot.

Legend:

  1. Intel: Reception’s Player List
  2. Intel: Ship’s Databank with the Player List
  3. Ship’s databank with player list and Ultus’s Cheating Technique

  16. Intel: Pyke Computer
  17. Intel: Pyke Suitcase
  18. Brayzak’s Cheating Technique
  19. Zana Gatta’s Location

Different items become available at different times. This could be talking to ND-5 after being rejected by the bouncer, after finding the Player List, or after finding a Master Keycard.

Focus on acquiring the Player List and Master Keycard first. Once you have those, you should be able to acquire everything else listed in the legend.

Locating the Player List

There are two ways you can get the Player List. You can steal it from the ship’s databank or learn it from a bookie running bets on the tournament players.

1. Intel: Reception’s Player List

Talking to the barkeeper near ND-5 will have him share that reception may have the Player List. You’ll also learn about a bookie on the ship that may know the Player List.

Talk to the sullustian concierge at reception to learn that the guest information is encrypted. You’ll gain intel about the Morenia’s Database being somewhere on the ship.

Using Nix Sense in the reception room will reveal a power line that leads to the Morenia’s Databank. It will be locked in a storage room.

Morenia Reception Wire Nix Sense

2. Intel: Ship’s Databank with Player List

You can find a chair near the Crimson Dawn lounge in the cantina where you can eavesdrop. Listen to the twi’lek and human talking to learn about the ship’s databank that contains the player list.

The Game Databank Eavesdrop Location

3. The Morenia’s Databank

To access the Morenia’s Databank, go to the room west of reception. You’ll find a broken door. Send Nix to press a button inside, walk to the cabins and through the door that leads into the storage room.

Inside the storage room you’ll find a locked chest you can lockpick for some loot. You’ll also find a computer terminal you can slice into. Slice into it to access the data.

Selecting Passenger List will grant you the Player List. Selecting Access Logs will grant you Ultus’s cheating technique.

4. Info about Bookie and Rauvis’s Cheating Technique

At the cantina, you can find a human male you can talk to. His appearance is randomized, but buying him a round of drinks for 10 credits will have him share info.

The Game Rauvis Intelligence

Asking About the Player will have him share Rauvis’s cheating technique in Sabacc. Asking About the Bets will have him tell you about a bookie taking bets near the cabins.

Word of warning, he won’t always be at the bar later on in the quest. I couldn’t figure out the trigger as to what makes him appear at the bar, but it’s better to catch him early on in the quest.

5. The Bookie with Player List and Ultus’s Cheating Technique

Next to the Fathier Race Table near the cabins is a white mon calamari male. He’s the bookie you’ll need to talk to for the Player List. Talk to him to obtain the list and ask questions.

The Game 4 Bookie

Select the option About the Longshot. This will have him tell you about Ultus and how he cheats. This is the same information you’d learn from the ship’s databank.

Acquiring a Master Keycard

After you get the Player List, talk to ND-5 at the bar. Your next task is to gather info about Zana Gatta and get her tournament invitation.

You’ll learn from the barkeeper that Zana’s room is Room D-34. All you’ll need is a Master Keycard to access it. Before you do that, you should take the time to dress for the occasion.

6. The Gambler Outfit

If you go do Kay’s room north of the Fathier Race Table, you’ll find a bag on the wall containing the Gambler Outfit for Kay and Gold Scale Paint for Nix.

Morenia Kay's Room Gambler's Outfit

The Gambler Outfit is a set-bonus outfit that enhances your ability to gamble. This outfit screams 1970’s, which is fitting as Star Wars was first released in 1977.

With that said, it’s now time to get a Master Keycard. You’ll have three ways to obtain one, fortunately you don’t have to travel away from your room to get one.

7. Master Keycard Location: Steal from Housekeeping

If you use the panel on your room’s wall, you can call for cleaning services. Have Nix pickpocket the cleaner to get a Master Keycard.

8. Master Keycard Location: Scurrier in the Vents

South of the store, you’ll see the shadow of a scurrier on the floor. Look up and have Nix take the Master Keycard from the scurrier.

9. Master Keycard Location: Steal from the Cleaner

You can find one more Master Keycard by having Nix steal it from a cleaner working on a fathier race sign.

Gathering Intel on Zana Gatta

With the Master Keycard and Player List available to you, you should be able to access everything on the legend near the start of the guide.

You’ll need to gather info on Zana Gatta and some means to get her tournament invitation. You can also take this time to learn about the other contestants.

(10) Intel: Zana Gatta’s Description

Talking to the Pyke in the Pyke Syndicate lounge can provide info on Zana Gatta. You can bribe them with 250 credits or use your Pyke reputation of Good or higher to get the info.

You’ll get a description of Zana Gatta’s hair being white. To your right, you’ll find a datapad on the couch with fixed fathier race info.

Morenia Pyke Intelligence

If you want to save credits or lack the reputation to get this info, use the following method instead.

11. Intel: Trandoshan with Datapad

Outside the Pyke Syndicate lounge is a trandoshan talking to a pyke. Listen in on their conversation and have Nix steal his datapad. This will give you a physical description of Zana and her white hair.

Trandoshan with Datapad

12. Intel: Zana Gatta’s Current Location

Talk to the agent in the Crimson Dawn lounge. For 250 credits or using your good Crimson Dawn reputation, you can learn info about Zana’s current location on the Morenia.

Morenia Crimson Dawn Intel

Between the white hair and knowing she’s in the arcade lounge, you can put together who Zana is. Knowing this isn’t enough to convince her to give you her ticket, you’ll need to dig for more info.

Zana Gatta

13. Mosh’s Cheating Technique

There’s a Crimson Dawn member you can have Nix pickpocket. This will get you a datapad with info on one of the contestant’s cheating techniques.

14. Intel: Zana’s Datapad

Go to the cabins and enter Zana’s room. Use the datapad on her bed and it’ll display a message from Crimson Dawn.

Zana's Datapad

15. Intel: Trapped Pyke

In the corner of Zana’s room, you’ll hear a voice coming from the refresher. Talk to the voice and you’ll learn that Zana stole their VIP suite keycard.

Trapped Pyke Refresher

16. Intel: Pyke Computer

Enter the VIP suite south of the fathier table. You’ll find a small chest you can lockpick for some loot. Use the computer terminal on the bar and access the log.

You’ll learn that the Pykes were trying to sell a valuable Verillian Egg. You’re one step closer to getting that tournament invitation.

VIP Suite Pyke Computer

17. Intel: Pyke Suitcase

You’ll find an empty suitcase in the VIP suite’s bed. Interact with it to gain some intel. This is obviously the suitcase that contained the Verillian Egg, but it’s safe to say it was stolen.

18. Brayzak’s Cheating Technique

You’ll find a datapad on a small table in the VIP suite. Use it to learn Brayzak’s cheating technique in Sabacc.

19. Zana Gatta

Once you’ve acquired the info from her room and the VIP suite, you should have what you need to blackmail Zana Gatta into giving you her tournament invitation.

Zana's Invitation

Once you’re ready, go to the front of the cantina room and talk to the weequay bouncer to board the elevator. Make sure you’ve done everything you wanted to, there’s no turning back now.

The Sabacc Tournament

Now it’s time for the main event, the Sabacc Tournament where you can win an entire moon, full of precious resources to mine!

If you took the time to learn all the player’s cheating techniques, you can give yourself an easier time. You can also just ignore them when you’re cheating if you so desire.

Rules of the Tournament

In this game of Sabacc, you will be unable to use your Shift Tokens. All you can rely on is the luck of the draw. You also can’t use Nix to peek at cards, but you’ll be able to Double Draw and use Magnetic Dice.

There will be a total of six players, four of which you can eliminate when they’re cheating by gathering intel on the Morenia.

Spotting Cheaters

If you learned how a player cheats, you’ll get a prompt to call them out. Doing so will have that player removed from the game.

This will remove the competition and increase your chances at winning a round. There is a chance that a player known to cheat may not end up cheating during the game.

Sabacc Spotting Cheaters

After Ultus is spotted cheating, a hover cam will be introduced into the game. If the droid chooses to watch you, you’ll be unable to cheat the game until it leaves you.

Sabacc Tournament Hovercam

Planting a Card

You’ll gain a new cheating technique in Sabacc, you can have Nix plant a card on an opponent. If you Double Draw one round and keep the card, you can have Nix plant it the next round.

Succeeding in the Card Plant quick time event will have the targeted player exposed as a cheater and removed from the game.

As the game goes on, you and any remaining contestants will get quite the surprise. As things with Kay usually go, things don’t go to plan.

Chasing the Bandits and Escaping the Morenia

Your first task after the tournament is to run away from the droids and don’t stop until you’re in the storage room.

Have Nix press a button behind some nets to bring down the ladder. Climb up and pull the lever to open the door below.

Activate Button and Ladder Morenia

Climb down the elevator shaft until you find a vent in the wall. This is the way forward but if you climb to the bottom of the shaft, you’ll find a large chest with some loot.

Chase the bandit leader and you’ll eventually enter a shootout. Defeat the bandits and shut down the hyperdrive.

Defeat the guard droids, follow your compass, and jump down the ventilation shaft. Go down the lift in the hangar bay and shoot the power conduit across or above you with your ion blaster.

Meronia Hangar Bay Power Conduits
The power conduits are on both sides along the hangar bay shaft.

When you make it to the other side, go down to your left and underneath the floor. This will lead you to a large locked chest with loot and a button that will move the lift above you so you can get out.

Pull the lever you find outside to activate the hangar bay shields. Shoot the power conduit, grapple across, and have Nix press the button behind the grates to power the lift.

Meronia Hangar Bay Nix Pressing Button

Shoot one of the nearby power conduits and climb up the grates and climb across to the other side. When you reach the other side, jump to the right onto the metal bars and make it to the lift.

Defeat the droids near the exit, shoot the power conduit, grapple across, and escape the Morenia. You’ll have some cutscenes and that concludes The Game.

Your business with Thorden and the Bandits isn’t quite over yet. You’ll need to start wrapping things up with the next quest Double Down.

How your decisions affect this quest and its outcome

I spent several hours going through numerous possibilities to answer questions you may have. If you are having fun with the Wild Card story and want to find out more about the various possibilities during The Game quest, here you go:

  • The minimum amount of interactions needed to beat the first part of the quest are as follows:
    • Talk to the weequay bouncer.
    • Talk to ND-5 at the bar.
    • Unlock the storage room door.
    • Access the ship’s databank for the passenger list.
    • Talk to ND-5.
    • Have Nix steal the trandoshan’s datapad.
    • Have Nix take the master keycard from the scurrier.
    • Go into Zana’s room, use her datapad and talk to the trapped pyke.
    • Go into the VIP suite and access the computer logs and inspect the suitcase.
    • Blackmail Zana to get her ticket.
    • Enter the tournament.
  • You are not required to learn the cheating techniques of the other players.
  • You can skip exposing cheaters, but Ultus getting caught is scripted.
  • You are not required to plant a card on one of the players.
  • Lando will always have a sylop and an imposter card in round 1.
  • Lando will always roll a 1 and 4 with said imposter card.
  • Cards you are initially dealt each round are predetermined.
  • Cards you draw are random but seem to favor giving you a good hand from time to time.
  • It is possible to have more players than you and Lando by round 3.
  • Failing at cheating 3 times will result in the hover cam watching you for the remainder of the tournament.
  • Losing the game will activate the bomb.
  • Thorden had so little faith in you that he thought you’d be done by round 1.
    • You would need to have drawn a card 3 times and end up with a 1 and 6 to achieve this miracle of bad luck.
    • You can in fact lose this way.
    • This does not change the dialogue in the cutscene after the tournament ends.
  • If you forget to pick up the Gambler Outfit, you’ll have it in the Trailblazer’s delivery box after the quest is over.

So, overall, you will not have to replay this game of sabacc as even if you lose, you still progress through the quest. No matter what you do, the bomb inside the credits stack will always go off and the quest will continue.
