What is Balatro
Balatro is a deck-building poker roguelike game that came out at the beginning of 2024. Its fun and unique mechanics have earned it an extremely good reputation. It was nominated in multiple categories at the Game Awards, and it took home the price for Best Mobile Game.
The reason why this mission in Cyberpunk 2077 exists is because CDPR partnered with Balatro. The painted Joker that you will see repeatedly in this quest is one of the many playable Balatro cards.
How to start the mission
There is no apparent method to trigger the mission. I simply logged into different save files to test it, and I got a message from Jim B. after a few minutes on all of them.
He will give you clues about locations one after another and you have to find them in Night City. V receives a lot of messages and you can easily miss it, so check your messages log when you first log in after you have updated your game to Patch 2.2 or newer.
There was one occasion where I did not receive the message, and I spent almost two hours playing in this save file. That file had the most hours of gameplay so I can’t say that it has something to do with story progress.
For those who enjoy scanvenger hunts
Scavenger hunts can be incredibly fun but challenging at the same time. Sometimes, all we want is a small push in the right direction and not the entire answer.
If you are like this, I placed a hint at the beginning of each segment. The hint can be inside the text and/or image. If it’s too hard you can simply scroll down to see the exact location. Happy hunting!

Joker Scavenger Hunt Walkthrough
This side quest requires you to find ten locations with a Joker cards at each one. It must be done in order. If you don’t follow the order, the cards will simply not spawn.
This quest does not appear in the journal. The map will never show hints about where you have to go but don’t worry, that’s the purpose of this guide.
Joker #1: Ride the Bus
HINT: David Martinez and other members from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners can be found here. It is a retired place from the city but you can wait for the bus across the street.
The first Joker is located in North Oak, Westbrook. To get there you can simply fast travel to the Columbarium. Right in front of the Columbarium you will see a bus stop. Walk towards the bus stop.
A painted Joker can be seen in one of the columns. The first Joker card is right next to it.
Joker #2: Golden Joker
HINT: This place is huge, windy and close to the mountains. Ideal for any bird to build a nest.
The second Joker card is very close to the first location. Head north to the turnaround with a bird statue in the middle of it. The statue is big and very reflective of sunlight soyou shouldn’t have any problem finding it.
The Joker card is in the edge of the concrete where the statue is standing, right behind its legs.
Joker #3: Lucky Cat
HINT: If we exclude bars, this was probably Jackie Welle’s favorite place to hang out.
The easiest way to find the location is by traveling to the Bradbury & Buran travel point, in Little China, Watson. Turn back, you will see the neon sign of Jacked and Coke. Head into the alley.
After walking for a few seconds you will find Misty’s Esoterica shop. Go inside and immediately turn left.
There’s a spot surrounded by multiple objects. The Joker card is on the floor, right in front of a chest.
Joker #4: Driver’s License
HINT: Delamain can be quite annoying but all you have to do is get on top of him, literally.
As with some of the previous Joker cards. The easiest way to get to this one is through a fast travel point, the Delamain HQ in Heywood, Vista del Rey to be specific. The Delamain HQ will be on the other side of the street. Cross over and walk to the opposite corner, then turn to the left.
Continue walking until you find an alley behind the Delamain HQ. Use the garbage stash to climb to the roof.
Look for the yellow wall on the right side of the building and go to the corner. The fourth Joker card is on the floor, next to the painted Joker on the wall.
Joker #5: Splash
HINT: Warm days of summer are insufferable. But at least on Night City you can get refreshed by jumping into the water.
Fast travel to the Cannery Plaza travel point, in Wellsprings, Heywood. From there you basically only walk in a straight line to the edge of the sidewalk.
You will see a ladder with the distinctive Joker painted on the floor. The Joker card is nowhere to be seen but don’t worry, all you have to do is jump into the water. The fifth Joker card is on the bottom of the ocean floor, which is just a few feet deep.
Joker #6: Spare Trousers
HINT: Sometimes you have to treat yourself with a new set of fancy clothes.
This one is East on the east side of the City Center at the Corpo Plaza. The closest travel point is Halsey & MLK. Go to the marked location on the map below. You have to find a store called Jinguji. Search for the huge brown building and go inside.
Go behind the screen, which showcases pictures of the store and some models wearing the cloths sold here. The painted Joker is on the wall and right under it, is the sixth Joker card.
Joker #7: Hologram
HINT: Militech and Arasaka are archnemesis. Like Beta fish, if you put them in front of each other they will eventually fight each other to death. I would not like to be at the center of it!
The next card is close to the previous location. Return to the Corpo Plaza and stand next to the Arasaka Tower fast travel point. Walk to the closest stairs and go up until you get close to the big holographic fish.
There’s a huge glass dome under the fish. Jump in there and collect the seventh Joker card at the center of the dome.
Joker #8: Sixth Sense
HINT: This statue is huge, I wonder what size of shoe this guy wears!
Fast travel to the Jig-Jig Street travel point on Japan Town, Westbrook. There’s a massive statue a few feet away from your current position. Climb to the base of the statue.
The eight Joker card is next to the statue’s right foot.
Joker #9: Lusty Joker
HINT: The bartender at The Bliss gets way too agressive if you try to grab a bottle yourself. It’s not my fault the service is so slow!
Luckily for you, for the ninth Joker card, you also begin at the Jig-Jig Street travel point. Enter the establishment with the lips neon sign.
The Joker card is behind the bar, near the corner to be precise.
Joker #10: Ramen
HINT: Jig-Jig Street is Japan Town’s heart. You must try the Ramen that is served there, absolutely delicious.
Guess what? The starting point for the tenth and final Joker is also the Jig-Jig Street fast travel terminal. Look for the stairs and go to the lower level.
Turn to the right and continue walking, you will pass a couple street stalls before seeing a 24hr Ramen Shop.
Go inside the Ramen shop. The silly joker can be spotted on the right side of the restaurant, next to the door. Open said door to find the tenth Joker card.
Rewards for completing the Hunt
The Joker Shirt is next to the tenth Joker card so don’t leave the Ramen Shop before collecting it. You will also receive one final message from Jim B. that shows another reward placed at your apartment.
The statue has the card versions of Jackie Wells, Rogue, and Johny Silverhand. These three cards are also featured in Balatro.
