A list of all Legendary Weapons for Naoe and Yasuke in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We will show you what boosts and engravings they have, a visual preview and where to find and how to get each one.

What are Legendary Weapons

Legendary Weapons are the highest rarity of a total of five rarity tiers available in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. They are usually found in large treasure chests hidden in secret places, in Castles, guarded by a lot of soldiers, or rewarded for completing specific quests.

Each of the main protagonists wield a unique weapon and they cannot be swapped. Whenever you loot or receive something, check the icon in the top right corner to tell if the item is for Naoe or for Yasuke.

We recommend that you create a habit of checking your inventory when you switch characters, just in case there might be a new powerful piece of gear that you have obtained while playing with the other one.

The level of the items usually matches your character’s level when you obtain them. That’s why we only list the types of boosts and the engraving, without specific values.

Long Katana (Yasuke)

Long Katana is a classic Samurai weapon, and if you spend enough points in the Long Katana Mastery path, you will learn why it is so respected and popular.

Cerulean Glitch

You can earn the Cerulean Glitch by progressing through The Legacy Project.

Claw of the Tides

You can loot Claw of the Tides from a legendary chest at the Uchinakao Burrows, in Mount Uchinakao, in Wakasa.

Crimson’s Edge

You will receive Crimson’s Edge as a reward for completing the Nobotsuna’s Students questline. This questline starts after you ahve progressed enough trough Yasuke’s personal story. It then tasks you to duel and defeat all of Nobotsuna’s Students.Ed

Flowing Peace

You will earn the Flowing Peace Long Katana as a reward for defeating Tsuchi-Gumo, the leader of The Bounty Hunters group, who is after Kyonyo. You will find Tsuchi-Gumo at Akagi Fort. He will be inside onf the the buildings in the back (north side).

This is the final target on The Hunters of Kyonyo board and questline. You can start this quest by talking to Kyonyo at Fudo-do Temple in Negoroji, in Kii.

Lethal Lotus Petal

You can loot the Lethal Lotus Petal Long Katana from Miyanoue Fort, located in Miki, in Harima. The treasure chest is on the highest plot, past the broken bridge. You have to defeat 2 Samurai Daisho first.

Loyal Traveler

You can loot Loyal Traveler from a legendary chest west of Kamikura Shrine in Kumano Sanzan, in Kii.

The approach to the chest starts at the broken bridge a little bit to the east from the marked location on the map above. Tou can use grapple hook or climb the tree.

Myth Slayer

You receive the Myth Slayer as a reward for completing the level 22 quest “The Wheel Unmasked“, part of The Shinbakufu main storyline. The final decision you have to make at the end, does not affect the reward.

Turquoise Zephyr

The Turquoise Zephyr is inside a legendary chest at the bottom of a river west of Shoryuju Castle, past the Kuji-kiri spot, in Eagle’s Nest area, in Yamashiro. Look for a broken wooden bridge.

Whisper of Gold

You can obtain the Whisper of Gold Long Katana after completing AC Shadows on a New Game+ playthrough. Once you complete the Shinbakufu, Naoe’s and Yasuke’s stories, then complete Junjiro’s story, you’ll obtain this sword.

Whisper of Muramasa

You receive Whisper of Muramasa as a reward from Fuyu for completing her quest chain and taking care of all targets in the Kurai Eikyou group, available in the People of Yamato quest hub. After you are done, return to Fuyu for your reward. She is in Nara Heartland, in Yamato.

You will unlock the Kurai Eikyou circle on the Objectives board while working on The Wise quest chain from The Shinbakufu story.

Naginata (Yasuke)

The Naginata has a long wooden handle with a big sharp blade tip. This weapon is good for crowd control and dealing damage to multiple enemies at once.

Celestial Blade

You receive the Celestial Blade Naginata as a reward for defeating Yuki no Kata, one of Nobotsuna’s Students. You have to be on that quest to duel him. He is in northwestern Kakogawa Estuary, in Harima. The quests starts by talking to Nobotsuna, in Omi.

Cerulean Nexus

The Cerulean Nexus Naginata is a reward for progressing through The Legacy Project in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Lengthened Horizon

The legendary chest containing this weapon is behind a bloodied shrine at Amanohashidate, in Miyazu Bay, in Tamba.

Lustrous Pearl

The Lustrous Pearl Naginata is a reward for assassinating the Clifftop Yamabushi located near the Kii Assassin Outpost, which is at the end of the Path of the Chosen, in eastern Kii. This NPC is part of the Yamabushi Imposters quest.

The Path of Chosen starts at the farthest east point in the Iseji Trails, in Kii. Its starting point is right on the edge of the ocean. The Sewara Inari Shrine Viewpoint is probably what you would have discovered closest to it.

Riddle of Steal

This weapon is available from the large treasure chest in the end of the Shimosato Kofun. The Kofun is located on the southeast side of Kumano Sanzan Kumano, relatively close to the shores.

Kumano Nachi Taisha and Hiro Shrine are the closest locations to it. The entrance is in a steep heel, two lamp posts indicate its location.

Sage’s Reach

Sage’s Reach is a reward for completing the quest “Showdown in Sakamoto“, part of “The Naginata” quest chain from The Shinbakufu storyline.

Shade of Blight

Shade of Blight is a reward for taking out The Messenger from the Kurai Eikyou group. He is at Kofuji Temple and you may encounter him during the main quest “Darkness Falls” from the Shinbakufu story.

You will unlock the Kurai Eikyou circle on the Objectives board while working on “The Wise” quest chain from The Shinbakufu.

Time-Honored Crescent

You can get Time-Honored Crescent from the large Legenary Chest at Kashiwabara Fortress. It’s a small establishment with only one Samurai Daisho. The fortress is in Ibu Highlands, in Omi.

Vengeful Foe

You receive Vengeful Foe as a reward for dueling and defeating Gyoji. This is from the quest “The Tournament“, that starts by talking to Gyoji at Ominesanji Temple, in Yoshiro, in Yamato.

Kanabo (Yasuke)

Yasuke’s Kanabo is probably the most intimidating weapon in the game. This spiked mace is great for destroying armor and breaking any defenses. Due to its size and weight, Yasuke’s speed and mobility will be reduced. Timing is everything when using this deadly weapon.

Boulder Fall

You receive the Boulder Fall as a reward for defeating the Katsuragi Agent from the Kurai Eikyou. The NPC is at Gokenin Manor, in Katsuragi, in Yamato. This is part of the People of Yamato quest from Fuyu.

Daybreak’s Fury

You receive the legendary kanabo Daybreak’s Fury as a reward from the quest “Broken Horn“, part of the hunt for The Ox from The Shinbakufu order.

Phantom Fist

You get Phantom Fist as a reward for defeating Hozoin In’ei. He is one of Nobutsuna’s Students. Hozoin is in a house in Asuka Rocks Basin, in Yamato.

Rage of Red Mist

You can find the Rage of Red Mist Kanabo in a large treasure chest located in the forest, east of the Grave of Buried Hopes, in Genbu Highlands, in Yamashiro.

Tale Smasher

You can loot Tale Smasher from the Legendary Chest in the basement of Saika Castle. The castle is on the western edge of Kii, overlooking the ocean. There are 3 Samurai Daisho you ahve to take down before you can loot the chest.

Tremor Strike

You can loot Tremor Strike from the Legendary treasure Chest at Yakami Fort, in Tamba. It only has one Samurai Daisho.

Venom Pillar

You can pick up the Venom Pillar from a treasure chest hidden behind a large stone at the Kajimiya Cemetery, in Mount Hiei, in Omi.

Woe’s Fog

You receive this Kanabo as reward for taking out The Silver Trader from the Silver Smugglers questline on your board.

You will find The Silver Trader at Genbao Fort, in northern Mount Uchinakao, in Wakasa.

Bow (Yasuke)

The Yumi Bow is the most reliable way for Yasuke to attack from a considerable distance. There are different types of arrows that suit different situations. It is also more silent than the loud explosion of a teppo firing.

A Thousand Cuts

You will receive this legendary bow as reward for defeating Akumu. He is one of the WInter Raiders group and is located in the Sandanbeki Cave, Nakahechi Route, Kii.

Blood Rain

You receive Blood Rain as reward for defeating Nagano Saemon, one of Nobotsuna’s Students. You will find Nagano at Sotomo Cove, in northern Wasaka.

Blush of the Earth

You can loot Blush of the Earth from the legendary treasure chest in Makino Kurumazuka Kofun. It’s located on the north side of the Yawata Plains, in Izumi Settsu. It’s east of Takatsuki and southwest of the Ogura Pond.

The entrance is surrounded by clay vases and two lampposts will serve as a visual reference if you are playing during nighttime.

Dragon’s Wrath

Dragon’s Wrath is a reward for defeating The Tsutsui Agent, part of the Kurai Eikyou quests. You will find this NPC at Retainers’ Quarters, in Koriyama Castle, in Yamato.

You will unlock the Kurai Eikyou circle on the Objectives board while working on “The Wise” quest chain from The Shinbakufu.

Falcon’s Eye

You will receive Falcon’s Eye as reward for completing the side quest “A Collection of Crests“. This quest is given to you by Ota Gyuichi (People of Yamashiro circle) and you have to collect all 9 Crests. They are in castles and usually in a box, behind a movable object.

Funeral Pyre

You can loot the Funeral Pyre bow from the treasure chest at the top of Inariyama Garrison, located in the high altitudes area of Mount Kasagata, in Harima.

Heartspiller

You can loot the Heartspiller from the legendary box at the end of Azuchi Hyotanyama Kofun in Omi. It’s a tomb Yasuke has to explore.

Last Breath

You receive Last Breath after completing the quest “Requiem for Rokkaku” for Shotei. To get this quest, you need to first complete the hunt for The Naginata and its last quest “Showdown in Sakamoto” from The Shinbakufu story.

Teppo (Yasuke)

Teppo Rifles are devastating weapons that can crush anything at a distance. The drawbacks are its very slow fire rate and reload times.

Cascading Fear

The Cascading Fear is in a legendary chest in the shadow of Genbu Panorama Viewpoint, right next to Namikiri Fudoson Shrine, in Genbu Highlands, in Yamashiro.

After the statue, take the path up and make a left to step onto thestone. The treasure is a few meters ahead.

Dark Burst

You will receive Dark Burst from Asari Nobutane after defeating him. He is one of Nobutsana’s Students. You will find Asari in the bamboo fields in Negoroji, in Kii.

Death’s Bloom

Death’s Bloom is inside the large treasure chest at the end of the Takagi Kofun. The Kofun is in Kanki Burned Fields, in Harima. Its entrance is in the middle of the Takagi Otsuka Fort. This means that you have to fight your way in.

Dynasty Ender

You can get this legendary teppo from the legendary chest at Genbao Fort, in Mount Uchinacao, in Wakasa.

Hero’s Message

You can loot Hero’s Message from the treasure chest at the top of the watchtower of Hikidan-jo Ruins, in Sotomo Gate, in Wakasa.

Patient Harbinger

You can find this teppo in a legendary chest at Kamikoga’s Ippon Sugi, in Ado River Valley, in Omi. The chest is right on the northern shores of the river, undr a large tree.

Repeating Fate

You receive Repeating Fate for taking out the Akiyama Agent, part of the Kurai Eikyou quest. The NPC is in Uda Matsuyama Castle, in Yamato.

You will unlock the Kurai Eikyou targets circle on the Objectives board while working on “The Wise” quest chain from The Shinbakufu.

Wave of Wasps

The Wave of Wasps is a reward for defeating the Teppo Expert, who will attack you as soon as you get close to him. He is at Kaya Shrine. You may encounter the Teppo Expert without even having started the Fallen Soldiers quest.

Kaya Shrine is in Mount Kasagata, in the northwest part of Harima. The closest Viewpoint you may have to get there quicker, is Inariyama Watchtower to the southeast.

Katana (Naoe)

Naoe’s Katana is a light and versatile weapon that is good for close combat, high damage, and a decent defense.

Bloodshade

You can loot Bloodshade from the legendary chest on the higher floor of the boat west of Burnt Village of Nakajima in Osaka, in Izumi Settsu.

Cerulean Arc

Dragon’s Edge

You receive Dragon’s Edge for completing the quest “Topple the Traitor“, part of “The Two-Faced” quest chain from The Shinbakufu story.

Dragon’s Gold

To obtain the Dragon’s Gold katana, you’ll need to complete a New Game+ playthrough. Complete the Shinbakufu, Naoe’s and Yasuke’s story, and Junjiro’s story to obtain this katana.

Iga’s Flame

You can find a Legendary Chest in a small cave at the peak of Mount Nukai. You can climb up a wall with white markings near the Mount Nukai Viewpoint. This will lead you to the chest.

Masked Death

You can loot the Masked Death from a treasure chest at Shimagahara Valley. This is in Otogi Pass, in Iga. The chest is right behind the Godai of Wind, who is part of The Godai Shinobi quest hub.

Snakebite

You receive Snakebite as a reward for completing the main quest “The Fox” from the Shinbakufu storyline.

Steel Blossom

You receive Steel Blossom as a reward for completing the quest “Lost Honor“, which is the last from the quest chain “The Fool” from the Shinbakufu storyline”

Violet Night

This katana is a reward for assassinating Yuki Onna, part of the Yokai group. She is infront of her cave Kawachi Kaza-ana.

You can take her out as soon as you see her. If you let her bring you in, she will attack you in the cave anyway. She appears to only show up there during winter. In the cave you will find clues about other targets from your board.

Yami no Kage

You can loot this legendary weapon from the big treasure chest at Hiraiyama Fort in The Warfields, in Harima. The fort has 2 Samurai Daisho you ahfve to take care of. The chest is in the northern part of the fort.

Kusarigama (Naoe)

Kusarigama is a good weapon for crowd control. It has a ball-and-chain that can reach and assassinate enemies that are up to 10 meters away while the scythe is good to take down enemies that get too close.

Bloodletter

You can loot the Bloodletter from the legendary treasure chest at Kashiwara Manor, or what’s left of it. The burned remains of the manor are located in Nabari Wilds, in Iga. There is a single Samurai Daisho in the area.

Deathbloom

You can loot Deathbloom from a treasure chest out in the open. It is located in the back of Sarumaru Shrine in the Little Leaf Glade, in Yamashiro.

Death Whisperer

Death Whisperer is a reward for completing the quest “Heads Will Roll“, which is the last from the “The Wounded” quest chain, part of The Shinbakufu story.

Demon Tooth

You can find the Demon Tooth in a legendary chest near the waterfalls at Arima Onsen, in Kakogawa Estuary, in Harima.

Featherstorm

You can find this weapon in the legendary chest just 50m east of Kashiwabara Tower Viewpoint, on the higher-level plateau of the destroyed fortress.

Ocean’s Grip

You get Ocean’s Grip for assassinating Lopo Cruz, part of The Pirate Alliance story arc. This story arc unlocks during the main quest to assassinate The Fox from The Shinbakufu order. You will find Lopo Cruz on board of his ship, in Nariu’s Lair, in Wasaka.

Stone Heart

You can obtain the Stone Heart from the big treasure chest in The Veiled Tumulus Kofun. The Kofun is located on the shores of Lake Suigetsu. It’s east of Obama and northwest of Kumagawa.

Winds of War

You receive Winds of War as a reward for completing the hunt for The Wise, part of The Shinbakufu series of quests.

Tanto (Naoe)

Tanto in a combination with Hidden Blade are the perfect weapons for close, quick, and stylish assassinations. This weapon unlocks the ability to do Double Assassinations.

Artist’s Tear

You can loot the Artist’s Tear tanto from the legendary chest in Takagi Otsuka Fort. This Fort is in the Kanki Burned Fields and is built on top of a Kofun. You can explore the Takagi Kofun while you are there for the tanto.

Call of the Void

You receive the Call of the Void as a reward for defeating The Godai of Void, part of The Godai Shinobi quest. You will find this target in a cave north of Daikichiji Temple, in Omi.

Cerulean Flux

Cerulean Flux is an early reward on the Awakening project path.

Igan Sunset

You can loot the Igan Sunset Tanto from a treasure chest inside the house at Tozuki’s Lair. This hostile area is located in the Katano Foothills, in Iga.

Masamune’s Thorn

You will find Masamune’s Thorn Tanto in the Legendary Chest inside the main building of Nochiseyama Castle, located south of Obama, in Wakasa. It’s a large castle and features 3 Samurai Daisho.

Scarlet Fate

You can pick up the Scarlet Fate Tanto from the large treasure chest in Chasuriyama Kofun, in Tamba. It is west of Fukuchiyama and northeast of Takeda Castle, This Kofun requires Naoe’s skill with the hook, so Yasuke cannot explore it.

Shinobi’s Fury

You receive the Shinobi’s Fury as a reward for completing the final quest “Drive the Point Home“, part of “The Golden Teppo” hunt from The Shinbakufu order. The decision at the end of this quest does not affect the reward.

Warrior’s Garden

You receive Warrior’s Garden as reward for assassinating Masatoshi Nakahara. He is part of “The Betrayers” quest on your objectives board. He is at Kameyama Castle, in Tamba.

To start this quest, you have to talk to Hori Hidemasa, who is at Miidera Temple, in Mouth of Seta, in Omi.

Yukimitsu’s Revenge

You can loot Yukimitsu’s Revenge from the legendary treasure chest at the end of the maze that is called Ancient Tomb of Nanjo.
