How to navigate the Ancient Tomb of Nanjo in Yamashiro and get Yukimitsu’s Revenge Legendary Tanto for Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

How to access the Ancient Tomb of Nanjo Kofun

The Kofun is in the Eagle’s Nest in Yamashiro. Its entrance is in the middle between the Foresaken Pagoda Viewpoint to the west and Toji Temple in Kyoto to the east. For this Kofun, you will need Naoe.

There is one key element to not get lost in the maze that is this Kofun: follow the horses. Or… are they ponies? Every time you are at a crossroads, always look for where the little horses are and go through that door.

Take the stairs down and loot the treasure chest in the first room with the sarcophagus in the middle, then continue into the tunnel leading west.

Drop down either using your hook or just drop down. You will emerge in a room with a small pond in front of you. On the left, there is a slope you can’t (and don’t want to) climb. Go right through the door with the horses above it.

When you reach the room with the small treasure chest on the right side, drop down to the chest, loot it and continue through the tunnel next to the chest.

The next open area features a pool of water and two rock formations you can use to hop onto them and to the other side. Or you can just swim through it to make it faster. A leap of Fate follows and you will fall in another shallow water pool.

Go through the small hole in the wall to the south. The shore of the water pool seems to be a bit buggy, at least at the time of this publication. Wiggle a bit with Naoe and try to climb up on the left side to the hole. Prone and get through the dark tunnel.

When you reach the next large room, jump down into the water and cross to the other side, heading south. You can climb either from the left or jump on the top to the right. The path is linear here either way.

Drop down on the lower floor. Loot the treasure chest and head south through the tunnel that has the horses above its entry point.

You will emerge into a very large cave. Turn west and hop onto the protruding stone pillars. Make a right and jump over the gap from the edge of the wooden planks.

On the south wall here, there is a narrow crack. Squeeze through it for another treasure chest.

When you exit back into the large cave, turn east and grapple hook to jump over to the other side where the two ponies are.

Follow the tunnel and at the end, climb up to the top. Now head up the stairs. When you get to the next crossroads, drop down, loot the treasure chest and go left (south).

Slide down and follow this path as it goes up and down. When you reach the green wall, prone and crawl through the hole. From here on to the end, the path has no more surprises, and you just have to follow it to reach the room with the legendary treasure chest.
