Megalithic Vault Walkthrough
This Kofun requires Yasuke as there will be heavy objects he would need to move around to clear paths and access various parts of the complex. If you bring Naoe, she will tell you to switch to Yasuke.
You will also need a ranged weapon in your arsenal. Any bow or Teppo would do. You don’t need any special abilities, ammo or arrows.
Go down the stairs and push the large wooden crate forward until you clear the path to the left. The corridor is blocked by rubble. There is an exploding barrel.
This looks like a “Horokubiya” to me, but I may be wrong. Someone more fluent with Japanese culture than I am, please correct me if I am wrong. I will be referring to these objects as “exploding barrels” for simplicity.
You will see a round-shaped hole on the floor. You have to jump in it. This will bring you to the bottom and from there, your task is to start climbing up again through various tunnels that go around the same pond and sometimes cross the hole.
When you drop in the pond on the bottom, dive underwater and look the first treasure chest. Swim up and look south where there is a narrow passage with long stairs. At the end, prone to pass through the hole in the wall.
You will be in a room with a sarcophagus in the middle. Go left. Crawl through a narrow passage to emerge on the other side where you will see two large wooden crates. The one on the right has a rectangular shape, the one on the left is square.
Behind the left one, you will find the next treasure chest. Move the right one back, then pull out the left (square) to reveal the treasure behind it.
Next, push the square box all the way through the tunnel on the right side. That tunnel was blocked by the other, the rectangular crate, a moment ago.
Push it all the way to the next room and position it under the ledge. This will allow you to climb on top of it. If you have troubles pushing the crate through the corridor, wiggle left and right. It’s a tight fit.

Continue west through this tunnel. It makes a turn to the north and goes down. After the slope, you will have an option to go left into an optional passage. Take that left to pick up a treasure chest. It is behind some vases in the corner. Then return to the crossroads again to continue forward.
You will arrive at a broken bridge that goes over the pond where you first jumped all the way from the top. Hop to the other side. At the crossroads, take the right. Break the wooden doors to loot a treasure chest. Then head back out and take the stairs up (the left path from the crossroads).
Follow the tunnel until you reach the next room. You will see a rectangular wooden box on the left. There is a square-shaped one right under the tunnel where you emerged from.
Pull out the square crate, go through the tunnel behind it. It will bring you to the other side of the rectangular crate. Pull it back and go back to the room. Move the square crate across the room and position it below the ledge on the other side. This will allow you to climb up.
Use the branches and wooden beams protruding from the wall to hand onto them and move to the left.
In the next open area, you will see scaffolding going anti-clockwise. Use it to reach the next tunnel, which is on the left side. The same pond where you first jumped is below. Make sure not to fall.
You will arrive in a room with several small ceramic statues. On the right side, there is a stone staircase and a wooden crate. Behind that crate there is an exploding barrel that blocks it. You have to go around and find a way to blow the barrel to free the crate.
Turn left and crawl through the hole. In this tunnel, you can pick up another small treasure chest with loot. Right next to it, there is a hole in the wall. Aim through it and shoot at the red barrel to blow it up. Then head back to the room with the ceramic statues.
Go up to the wooden crate and push it. As far as it allows. Then take stairs to the right. You have arrived. The bigger half of the Elegant Samurai Set is waiting for you in the large treasure chest. This is the Armor gear piece.
